I can't stand Danielle. Can we please get her off the show?

And why is it that whenever the Nerd-off is in someone's area of expertise/passion/specialty, they always fail utterly???

    And the reason they fail is because they are all losers and suck at what they do. The term "nerd" has been degraded to the point of meaning "liking video games and comics" when it used to infer intelligence and a desire to learn. Everyone on that show is a failure by definition. Truly successful people wouldn't bother with such crap. Having a degree or specialty doesn't mean that you are actually good in that area. I hate them all, but damn Danielle is hot.

    I get saddened when any of those people are called nerds. How that word has been ruined. I shall need to find a new word to call myself. I suppose Geek will have to suffice.

    I watch the show...hehe, and yeah, I've noticed that the experts keep getting whacked. I think it comes down to over-confidence. Every expert thinks they are going to rule their area...but the x-factor keeps killing them.

    As far as Danielle goes...well, she' annoying, but I'd do her :wink:

    At this point, I just hope that Celeste goes. She annoys me and I would hate seeing someone get this close to winning without even being in a Nerd-off.

    I've watched my faves walk away one-by-one, starting with Jon. So sad. Ivan is the only one left I want to see win.

    As I don't have cable to get TBS, I haven't been able to watch the show.

    However I was at University with Alana. We were both in the gaming club on campus (of which I was the Treasurer for).

    See, to me, only half of these folks are nerds. Nasa Scientist = Nerd. A guy that reads text books for fun = Nerd.

    Now Ivan...Ivan is a geek. The girl that lost to Genevieve in the comic book contest (can't remember her name) .. .she was a geek and so is Danielle.

    While watching it, I thought it was probably scripted. Most "reality" game shows like this are at least somewhat scripted. I just watched a couple of episodes because I thought maybe this was a reality show where I would at least like the actors' personalities. But, sadly, no :ohwell:

    I agree that Danielle was super annoying, though. I wanted to smack her upside her pink head.

    She was actually my least favorite next to Danielle. She was really volatile and was stabbing everyone in the back. She sabotaged her own team week after week. I was so glad when she left the show.

    You know... I think the point is that whether their knowledge is physics, math, computer programming, comic books, or science-fiction, they know a lot about subjects that people care little about or find very useful, and that is what defines them all as nerds.

    I liked Alana until that last episode she was on. Socially awkward and a bit annoying,...sure. She just turned into such a bitter player when she was sent to the Nerd-off.

    I read textbooks for fun. That guy just said it for TV.
    Nasa Scientist - you wouldn't believe how many engineers they have just doing data entry
