Cutting carbs and I feel so dizzy...

I'm diabetic, and when my blood glucose goes below 4.9 (which should be lower end of normal range) I get shakey and dizzy. Please have your blood glucose checked next time you are at the doctor's. Have a small glass of fruit juice when you get shakey.0

The reason you are dizzy is because some of the candida in your body is dying off. It feeds off of carbs and sugar. When you reduce carbs, candida dies and releases toxins into your system. During "die off" 79 toxins are released including ethanol and acetaldehyde. This is what people mean when they say they got, "carb flu". It will pass in a few days. That is why it is a good idea to cut carbs slowly, decreasing a little each day. Soon you'll feel amazing.

Why would you do such a thing?0

You can feel dizzy and sick when you aren't expelling your waste adequately too. I used to feel dizzy and flu like for years until someone talked with me about detoxing. I have sense done two cleanses and the last time I felt dizzy and sick was when I went to my parent's for a week for Christmas and ate a ton of junk. You are doing a semi-cleanse now with reducing carbs. A different type of cleanse and more thorough cleanse may be in order. Just a thought.

Why would you do such a thing?
Because there are benefits to eating a higher fat, lower carb ketogenic diet.0 -

For the average individual without any preexisting medical condition? I'm yet to hear of any such thing from any credible source.0 -
Not sure if this has been said already but it may not be related to low blood sugar. Have you had your blood pressure checked reccently? Have you had a blood test for other deficiencies? I was getting dizzy spells when I stood up too quickly which was related to low iron levels and low blood pressure. Probably go to see your Doctor just to check0

I suspect most of the people giving "low carb" and "carb flu" advice has not actually looked at your diary..... your issue is not carbs - I am not doing "low carb" and you are eating more carbs than I am ....... BUT you are netting under a 1000 calories most days - so if you are logging correctly you are not eating enough - you need to fuel your body....
I'm eating between 1200-1600 calories a day. I'm not sure what you mean by netting under 1000. I guess I should have been clearer in that I am trying to limit processed carbs. I'm getting my carbs from fruits and veggies but really limiting bread, pasta, granola bars etc.
Friday you ate 1240 - you burned 509 - your net = 731 calories
Thu you ate 1392 - you burned 357 - your net = 1035
You are supposed to be eating back a decent portion of your exercise calories, and unless you are tiny try and net at least 1200 (if not more)
This^ plus see a doctor to rule out other things like someone already mentioned. You really aren't eating enough. See this.

cutting carbs is only appropriate if you are carb cycle(it should be done only if you are advanced when it comes to dieting and exericsing). but other than that do not cut carbs and we are talking about less than 100 carbs a day. It's pointless. The body need carbs and do you know what two organs require carbs the most? the liver and the brain!
just consume your calorie needs and more importantly meet your macros and you will be fine.0 -

Technically untrue. The glucose required by those organs can be generated by ketone bodies in the absence of carbs, else ketogenic dietary lifestyles would be completely untenable.
I don't personally do keto, but many of my training partners do, and have done so for many months with no ill effects. It can be particularly useful for people who have a hard time controlling their desire to eat *something* whenever they get a craving, as they can often simply channel it into proteins and fats and will generally end up in a caloric deficit with plenty of nutritive variety if they can be bothered to also eat plenty of veggies. Between the fiber and the high satiety of proteins and fats, many people can curb their hunger pangs pretty easily without carbs.0 -

Huh?
So, we have someone already netting fairly low calories, and the advice you are giving is to deprive her system more? In ways, this advice reminds me of the old practice of bleeding an ill patient - it's a bit counterproductive, to say the least.
OP - you will probably want to go to your doctor, dizziness can have many causes, anything from hormone imbalances to blood sugar issues. Really, there are tons of things that can cause it.0 -
I'm not following any specific diet, but I have been trying to decrease my carbs. For the last few days I have felt kinda dizzy and shakey. Kinda like you get with low blood sugar, even if I've eaten. Is this normal? Will this pass? My diet log is open if anyone wants to look. I am not carb free, just trying to eat fewer carbs. I had pb and a few saltines and milk this afternoon to see if that would help but I still feel woozy. :sick:http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/419136-what-am-i-doing-wrong

I experienced the same thing.
My weight loss doctor had me drink a cup of bouillon (for the sodium) and 20 minutes later I was back to normal.
Hydration is important as the others stated.
Your diary is not open so I can't comment on what you're eating or not eating.0
