It doesn't get "easy," but it definitely gets easier. Make sure you allow yourself a treat here and there, and do exercises that you enjoy. You will burn out fast if you eat like a bird and don't enjoy your workouts!0

some days are easier and some days are harder. I was super grouchy and hungry the 1st week or so but I pushed thru just make sure your goals aren't unrealistic and press on!0

After about 2 weeks is when I quit getting angry or upset about the way I had to eat and exercise. Now, it is definitely A LOT easier. It isn't easy, but it really not as hard You just got to keep it going and eventually you will be so proud0

I went the opposite and was very strict for the first two weeks, in order to break bad habits and set good ones in place. Than I started allowing treats.
After those two weeks it was much easier, but being grouchy all the time didn't go away for a month!
Keep plucking away though, you'll adjust and start feeling so much better!0 -

Once I got past the first month it seemed almost like second nature. This is really the easiest "diet" I've every tried because I'm eating what I'd normally eat, just basically portion controlling. And it's really taught me a lot about eaitng in balance. For instance, if I have a really calorie-heavy meal for lunch I eat lightly for dinner. MFP reinforces a lot of common sense stuff that we should all be doing.0

When I get to the point that I want to quit, I just take a break from exercise. I eat my allotted calories for a week, then the next week I just pick it back up. Kinda lets me focus on one thing and clear my head. This is just me.0

I looked over your diary and WOW yeah you need to eat real meals and enjoy them! Do you want to eat like you have for the past couple of days for the rest of your life? I am by no means a pro at this still have my ugh days but I will be d@mned if i have to suffer through my meals!0

I've been on and off here (this is like my 3rd account) since 2009. I usually manage 3-4 days then crumble.

Maybe for you. I'm 5'2" with a small frame and 1200 is plenty.
But for a 6'1" 240 lb. man with a larger build, yeah, it's not.
Did you know that not everyone on the planet is the same height, weight, build and gender as you? ::gasp!::
P.S.: OP: It doesn't get much easier. But it's not about easy. It's about being healthy and looking/feeling great.0 -
I eat around 2000 calories a day. I've lost 4 inches off of my waist in 2 months, 15 total lbs weight loss. I don't feel tired, or grouchy, or that it's "hard". I feel fine. I enjoy my workouts because I eat enough to give me the energy to plow through them. I still eat at a deficit, but a healthy enough amount to where I don't feel hungry. Not so hard for me.0

it doesn't get 'easier' but your stomach does adapt to your now diet. you sound like how i felt two weeks ago..hungry and painfully grumpy! i still get hungry now and I try to stave off the pangs with sugar free gum and plenty of h20. So far so good..wish me luck and I wish you yours!0 -

I'm 5' and 1200 cal per day faaaar from enough!
I do strength training and move as much as I can (petting mr. fitbit).
My goal is burn 1700 cal per day so I can NET 1200. Without that, I'd be an axe murderer, the chick with the cheeseburger goes down FIRST! :laugh:0 -

P.S.: OP: It doesn't get much easier. But it's not about easy. It's about being healthy and looking/feeling great.
If you're sedentary, I guess this is plausaible. But even with a little exercise, your TDEE would be around 2100, giving you a reasonable weight loss target of about 1600-1700 cals/day. And as an MFP user, I would guess you do more than just "a little" exercise.0 -
