Get up and Go! As soon as I get home I put on my workout gear and then I feel I have to work out! C'mon, you'll feel soooo much better! Hey, and once you start you won't want to miss a day.
And if you're more the "drill sargent" type - Suck it up, Cupcake!0 -
find something you enjoy..and have fun (I hate the words exercise and diet).:flowerforyou:0

you have to find a time that is best for you i was on mfp for like a month before i even started working out. For me it varies day to day cus of my work schedule sometimes night is good and sometimes morning is better. But you have to make the time i have noticed a difference in myself since i started working out and you will too.0

My motivation is the energy kick I get. You won't get that just cutting calories.0

Motivation is overrated. Do you need motivation to brush your teeth or go to work? Of course not. You do it because you need to. The sooner you realize that it's not about motivation, the faster your body will change.

I'm not sure what you want us to do.
If you took the time to LOOK at the photos people posted here (before and after), took only 5 minutes of your time to read success stories that would be motivating enough. Instead, WE here took the time to motivate you??
Seriously??
GET UP AND JUST WALK, DANCE, PLAY A VIDEO WITH EXERCISE ON YOUTUBE - for free, and move it!0 -
Find something you enjoy!
People often think you have to go to the gym or run, as if those were the only kinds of physical activity. I use my Wii, take dance classes, walk with my partner, hula hoop...0 -

This is how I get myself to work out. Just think of how much more food you're allowed to eat after you work out0

I go to work to get paid. If I did not have the motivation of receiving a paycheck I wouldn't be going.0 -

At the end of the day, if you have a responsibility, you simply need to fulfill it.0 -
GET OFF YOUR LAZY *kitten* AND GO DO IT!0

1. GOALS: I started with a small weekly goal .... wrote it down on a calendar .... you can use stickers if you like. Something visual ... something to keep you accountable.
After a couple of weeks ... I added to my goal. Pretty soon working out became a habit.
2. ENJOY IT: If you don't like one activity .... try another .... and another. If working out is going to be a lifestyle change ...you should enjoy it.
Netflix (by mail) has hundreds of workout DVDs ..... I got to try something new every week. I figured out what I like (and what I hate).
3. If all else fails ......"NO EXCUSES" .... I have some "excuse proof" videos ... I don't need to have good weather, equipment, or even skill ..... I just need to get off my butt
Here's an excuse proof one .....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjduJjO1pLg&feature=related0 -
how badly do you want this?
that's all the motivation you need.0 -
You can do it!!!!! I know the feeling...this is also a NOTE TO SELF : )0

I am the same. I lack motivation to "exercise". I work full time and have 3 kids. I can't seem to drag myself out of bed an hour early to exercise. So what I figured out the best for me to do is skip the exercise and go out side and have fun with my kids. It could be just the back yard playing on the swingset, kicking the soccerball around, throwing a football, or a game of tag. Some nights we go for a walk. My kids love it when i play with them and it gets me moving.0

I use an app to register my progress (adidas micoach) . It helps me view the calendar
And i have a specific hour to do exercises0 -
Really, the motivation is going to have to come from within you. Try your best to get to bed early. Or, work out in the evenings. Do what works for you. You need to want to work out. It may be hard at first but you will get in a rhythm eventually. Good Luck!!!0

I have to work out when I'm well fed and before I run out of calories for the day. As the old saying goes, "if you don't work, you don't eat!" Not really, but it earns me my snacks! I need those snacks! Stick with your MFP goals for the day and try to work out during your best energy time of the day...when you have time to shower or do whatever is it you want to do. Before I go get my three kids from school, I try to get my weekly workout in. Before I go to bed on weekends, I have to get it in, even if it's 10:00. Not my favorite time, but I didn't chose my favorite time, so there it is! LOL You can do it!0

just do it. I dont even think about it. I worked the past 3 nights (graveyard) then come home and take care of my 3 kids, running on maybe 3 hours of sleep each night, I come home relax a bit, feed the kids then put on p90x, if you want to look good you gotta do what you gotta do0

I sometimes feel the same way. I am a stay at home mom with my almost 4 year old daughter. I started last week walking outside and then the weather got crappy so I stopped. I was also working out during my daughters naps and then the past couple of days she hasn't napped.
I have had a lot of things get in my way this week that has stopped me from exercising but looking back I know I could have done better. My goal for this week is to not make excuses.
A few people on here have said that you need to schedule in your exercise just like you would anything else important. I am going to try that because just telling myself I have to do it isn't enough. I will have to say from this time to this time is exercise time no excuses!
You can do it too just put your mind to it and get going!0 -
I agree with Belle. Look at the pics on here! Eating right is the tough part for me. You can lose weight without much exercise if you got eating under control, but you will feel much better and you will have much better body tone if you exercise. For me, nothing wakes me up in the morning like a good workout before work. Set a goal, maybe running a 5k, or some other fitness goal and work at it. Decide on a reward for yourself (a healthy one) once you accomplish your goal. Then set another one.0

Get up and get moving. There is no one in this world that is responsible for your health except Y O U! You don't want to do it because it is hard, but nothing in life worth having is easy. Success builds upon success. Study those who have been there, do as they do, take action, get moving, talk the talk and walk the walk, continuously improve yourself, Never ever stop, and if someone gets in your way run them the hell over. Keep on moving, and rest when you're dead. Have a nice day now.0

I have past pictures of myself (At my goal) I look at when I lack motivation and remeber why I started to begin with...0
-
Why do you want to workout?0
-
Just pull put on your big girl panties and go on and DO IT! You'll never regret the workout you did, just the one you didn't!0
-
I have a playlist of songs that get me dancing a little and moving in my seat at work. That's what I walk to when I walk during my two breaks, which is when I walk. I find that I like the songs and something I want to dance a little bit.0

OP,
Does someone telling you to do it motivate you? I wish it worked that way for me my family has been telling me to workout for 17 years, never once motivated me. Would not be where i am now if it had. What motivates me is seeing my news feed filled with the calories burned by my friends if they are moving I should be moving to.
Motivation come from within.
Good luck, now Run in place for 5 mins!0 -
What appears to get in your way of exercising is the number one best thing I find gets me going. Don't try working around your daughter's schedule but with it. My daughter is 6 now and she has been my workout partner for 3 years. Sometimes, it is as simple as going on a bike ride or walk with her, sometimes I take her to the park and play tag or something. Running up and down and all around the stairs and slides and everywhere has always been a good workout for me and she loves it.
My daughter is my biggest motivator, if she is at school or something, I will go steal my nephew. I hate doing it alone and have never found a better workout partner than a child.
As far as the reason I do it, it's for the energy. If I don't workout in the morning I am so tired by midday and sleep like crap at night. If I do workout in the morning I have energy all day long and sleep so good at night. It is hard sometimes to get up and do it but I know I will feel so much better if I do.I sometimes feel the same way. I am a stay at home mom with my almost 4 year old daughter. I started last week walking outside and then the weather got crappy so I stopped. I was also working out during my daughters naps and then the past couple of days she hasn't napped.
