Lastly, opinions are never wrong, nor are they right. They are opinions, nothing more. You can use all the "facts" you want, but at the end of the day, what you believe is specific to you and you alone. Truth is relative, people. Simply because your opinion is mostly in alignment with a majority, or minority, of the population does not make it wrong or right, it just means that more people agree (or disagree) with you.
The part I bolded I wanted to address.

It's generally an argument I've heard from liars and people unwilling to admit they're wrong.

There aren't two sides to every story. Well there are.. there's the truth and someone else's bs spin on it. But there is truth. You can not like it, disagree with it, employ cognitive dissonance, you can do all sorts of fun mind games to shut it out.

But there is truth. Hiding from it does no good. In the end, it always wins.

The notion that one "truth" is better than anyone else's "truth" is unfortunately, in and of itself, a fallacy. Ultimately a small portion of the population determines what is "truth", and other people simply choose to believe it because it is easier than disagreeing or trying to find their own beliefs independent of outside influences.

And before you dismiss me as a conspiracy-loving hack, remember, the only thing I'm actually trying to prove here is that nothing is 100% provable. You can feel free to disagree with me on that all you want though.

The truth is what it is regardless of anything that happens around it. If I flip a coin it is heads or tails regardless of anything else. When you said "Ultimately a small portion of the population determines what is "truth"," you blatantly told everyone that you are not actually talking about truth at all because it would be impossible for your statement to hold any water if you were. You are talking about how wealthy people manipulate media to spin stories in the ways that they see fit. The thing is the very fact that they are spinning anything at all 100% proves that there was something from which it needed to be spun.

Since I just 100% proved something that brings me to your next nugget of genius. You actually typed out and submitted these words.
"the only thing I'm actually trying to prove here is that nothing is 100% provable" this statement is like a snake eating its own tail. Contained within your own statement is an assertion that you are trying to do something that you are claiming you can't do. If you want to follow Renee Descarte down the rabbit hole of rampant skepticism then let me point this out to you. He was way smarter than any of us and it made him a little crazy.

I thought I really had to pee and was going to get up from my desk chair and head to the bathroom...

but I no longer know if that's a fact or not. Maybe it's not reality. Maybe it's all relative. I'm SO CONFUSED!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!

Maybe this is also why I *kitten* my pants that one time?

    God, I'm SO CONFUSED!

Maybe if you sit there long enough with your legs crossed the you from an alternate realtiy closely enough tied to this one will pee making it so that you don't have to anymore and therefore you won't have to get up out of your seat. Oh, and don't worry, that warm stuff you feel on your chair is just another you from a different alternate reality pouring hot tea on yourself . . . promise.

It doesn't matter what it's about, who's involved, or what links you can come up with. It doesn't matter if you have a hundred people agreeing with you or nobody. It doesn't matter if someone is being courteous or offensive, and it doesn't matter what words they use.

No one is ever 100% wrong, just like no one is ever 100% right. There will always be exceptions, and what feels right for you may not for everyone else, BUT what feels just and morally right for a large group of people may not be that way for the smaller groups either! (Slavery, anyone? It sure seemed like a good idea at the time to a bunch of people!)

No one else is ever going to be in complete agreement with you! But, by the same logic, no one is ever in complete DISagreement with you either. It's easier to find common ground than you might want to believe, if you just try being civil.

Have a nice day, I won't be around to see this thread get locked or deleted so I'll just say thank you for whoever contributes to it.

Um..ok. So if everyone is allowed to their own opinion..why did you report Taunto?

Because, in my opinion, he was violating the community rules. The Mods will decide whether or not to agree with me, and decide whether to take further action or not. The opinions of the mods, and their discretion as to who is and is not following the rules set up for MFP, determine who gets strikes and bans. That does not make the mods, or anyone reporting, 100% wrong or 100% right. Thanks for the question, have a nice day!

So..in your opinion, someone is wrong on the internet?

Ummmmmm, excuse me, but when somebody follows my comment in a discussion (quoted so I know it was me) with "I wish she would shut up," that is 100% wrong; I don't care who you are.

So are you saying that the person who posted "I wish she would shut up" is "100% wrong" and they don't really wish that you would shut up? Are you absolutely certain about this? I'm not convinced, but I also don't know enough about the person who posted this to determine if it seems credible.

For me, when someone says that they wish I would shut up, I'm very close to 100% certain that their assertion is correct; that they truly do wish I would shut up.

Stop using so much logic. The interwebz are too scary as it is.
