Victoria- that sounds like tons of fun!! Great job on mixing up the exercise!

So are you running a 10K on July 4th weekend? I hadn't actually thought about running a race of that at this point... But it is a thought! Also depends- that's the other weekend I might go to NC. But I might be up for traveling upstate to run :) At this point, the 5 miles was definitely pushing it. I need to continue to work up to that. I sort of feel now like I did when I first did the 4+ mile run, but it'll get easier, as the 4 mile has (sort of- still challenging). I didn't think I would be ready for that distance by then, but perhaps so. I just hit 3 miles mid-March, and 4 end of March, 5 the beginning of May- I've got 2 months to add one more mile. It's possible! Will probably need to dial it a bit down with cardio tomorrow, but not TOO much, as I never know how I'm going to feel Thursday after group.

So here are my numbers for the day

1622 cal eaten/643 cal burned/ -1447 under cals needed to maintain/ -4088 net loss for the week

I'm still not positive this all makes sense, but we'll see. It's a lot of calculations, but I like to be objective on it.

Calories consumed 1952 and I was under by 257... That's pretty good for me. My evening snack was goat cheese, rice crackers and an apple. Plus I had a total of 90 min of exercise today...

    See you tomorrow.

Way to go Victoria! 90 min of exercise is pretty flippin' fabulous and nice evening snack! If only mine went that way... all too often it's easy just just devolve into junk eating, so props your way!

And might I just ask... is it Friday yet?

Tomorrow i get to sleep in a wee bit, as my first thing of the day is grand rounds at the U, which don't start until 10:30, then I'll head over to the clinic- mostly just have to make calls. I pass a thai place on my way, and I might have to cave... we'll see. I plan to hit the rec center up tomorrow, so that could even out my calories a bit.

Happy HUMP Day!!! Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!! This calls for Mexican tonight... Oh - I'm getting excited for the the end of the challenge. I think the scale has finally moved again. If it stays like the last few days - I am going to be at 50 pounds!!!!! I keep looking at the small clothes in my closet and thinking I'll never get to fit in anything that small but when I put them on they feel great.

I loved the make-overs on BL last night. I'm deciding if I want to be brave and go for a new look or just get my standard cut and color. I have until 2:30 to decide. Yes, I'm taking me time today for the beauty shop. I've got so much going on in the next month and I want to look great.

I get to meet Kristina in 10 days!!!! I can't wait to run with you. My brother is now coming down too so you probably wont get to meet them at the race - they will be up drinking so much with friends that they won't make the race. But if you want to do lunch at a brewpub in Ann Arbor after the race, they might meet us there. Do you want to share a ride to the race? I have to drive through Ann Arbor on my way to Chelsea.

Welcome xcarlyx:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: This weekend ends our current challenge so this is a perfect time to join us!!! We are making the next challenge more focused on fitness then a specific number for weight loss. Request to be Kristina's (akasullengal) friend so that you know when she posts the new thread. Each week we start a new thread - she does this late Thursday or early Friday.... Next week will be 200+ (week 29) ________

My vacation to Phoenix is 2 weeks away... I really am sooooo excited for that. My friend is planning to take me to a drag show and dancing. I need to find some sexy clothes. Maybe he will take me shopping. His husband is from Puerto Rico and has promised to cook authentic food for me. I can see 10 pound gain - unless I dance a lot. They used to take me too a great bar in Tuscon that had hip hop music one side, a bar in the middle and country music on the other. For kicks they tried to teach me to 2 step and dirty dance once - I'm not very coordinated but it was fun!!! I'm not sure if we'll have time to get there but I'd love to get down to Mexico for an afternoon of shopping. Plus hikes in the mountains. Cripes, I only have 4 days - sleep will have to go!!!

I did another day of week 3 c25k last night. I did alright. I was able to stay on for the most part and do the whole thing. I stepped off the treadmill during the last 3 min jog for about 30 seconds to catch my breath and then jumped back on.

Theres some potential incredibly good news from work. So good that I might not need to get a second job! I'm holding off until we get more definitive answers but its looking really promising.

Victoria- loved the BL makeovers as well. I'm glad they did them at the beginning of the episode so I could watch (I switch over to Glee at 9pm). Everyone looked great! How exciting that you're SO close to 50 pounds. That's just unbelievably amazing!! I'm so very very proud of you. Even though I'm only 12ish pounds away from it, it seems very far away for me. Congrats! Hope the scale continues to be friendly!

Also, SO excited for the 5K and meeting you! We can definitely drive together if you like and am down for a brewpub afterwards. Would love to meet the family. I've just got a 3pm apartment viewing that day, so I've got time. Eee! It's coming up! Also, let us know how the hair turned out! Perhaps when I get much closer to my ultimate goal I'll do something wild, but I'm sort of fine with my hair as it is at the moment.

Kendal- congrats on continuing with c25k! You're rocking it! Keep us updated on the job situation. Sounds exciting!!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Had grand rounds to attend this morning, but it's been a relatively uneventful afternoon. I did cave into my thai craving (we really need to stop talking about it. haha), but noshed on an apple first. It was spicier than normal, so my sinuses are clear! Will be pounding the water today, because of all the sodium I'm sure was in it. Also, forgot that I am going to lunch with coworkers tomorrow- another potential caloric pitfall. Now, even if I don't feel up to it, I'll definitely need to work out tomorrow as well to work off some of that before weigh-in (last one of the challenge- eep!). Will hit up the rec center this afternoon after work. The legs are a little sore today after yesterday's run, but not as much as I thought they would be, so I should be able to do a decent stint on the elliptical tonight.

    Good afternoon!

Still feeling tired and run down. Its alot to do with the crazy weather wreaking havoc on my sinuses.

I am going to try to hit the gym tonight but we just had Cinco De Mayo food for lunch as a company - spanish rice, chicken enchiladas, homemade guac, etc. etc. and there is talk of beer after work. I could use a beer.

My body is starting to hurt, I assume from not moving as much this week. WTF? LOL

The thing is ladies, when I travel I NEVER eat fast food. We always eat really healthy and we are always moving around and walking so the likelyhood is that I will come back either maintaining or losing weight. So at the very least I can look forward to that. I'm not saying that I should be making a greater effort this week, because lords knows I should be, and I am not justifying my eating habits by knowing I will eat well next week...but at least I can say I won't eat crappily next week!

Well i am behind and still have a ton to do, so you all have a good day and I will read all the posts later!

Lacey- I've certainly noticed that if I go too many days without exercising, I feel MORE tired and achy, so that might be the reason as you suggested for you feel. Good luck with the gym tonight!!

Just got back from the rec center. The 65 min on the elliptical felt about 3 times as long as that, but I powered through. Legs were tired, I'm sure from yesterday, but not in any pain. So while I did the time, I took it easier on the intensity. But after my megalunch, I needed to do some calorie burnin'.

I've decided tonight is cayenne mango and watermelon margarita night. I'm still full from lunch so I will have a salad if I get hungry, but yeah. Margaritas. YUM.

I still have a ton to do before my trip and I am feeling hecticated (ha, like my new word?). So I am gonna say the heck with it, go home, make some margaritas and RELAX for a few hours and watch the last hour of BL and Glee and CHILL OUT. I am hoping that will revive me some.

I hope you all have had a good day!

Hey gals - my new juicer came today!!!! YEAH!!!!! The Champion juicer broke about 2 months ago. That did cause me to eat more fresh fruits and veges but I missed my juice. The new juicer is a Breville. Carrot, apple, cucumber juice was my snack tonight. Yummy.

Great job on the workout Kristina. Lacey - get your rest and enjoy that margerita. I wish I lived closer - I'd come have one with you.

Kendal - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on the job front!!! Great job working on week 3.

My numbers for the day - 66 min of ex (30 zumba & 36 power walking)... 1607 cal consumed and under by 350.

ok...so for those of you who watch the Deadliest Catch....if there was no other way to transfer the greenhorns than by putting them in the water, how did they transfer their clothes?? I mean, was it REALLLLLLY necessary to put those guys in the water?? couldn't they do what they did last season when Jake Anderson's sister died and they left him in a dingy for another boat to pick up? (the boat was right there...they didn't just leave him in the middle of the Bering Sea...)

but still...how did they transfer their duffel bags of clothes?

It's official - I'm down 50 pounds... YEAH ME!!!! 7.5 months and I'm finally at 187. I will take measurements tomorrow and re-weigh for the final challenge. I don't know why but I started MFP on a Thurs and keep it as my official weigh-in day. Good luck on the last chance workouts. If the weather cooperates, I hope to run 3 miles this afternoon. I've 15 min to get out the door. Catch you later.

I'm still struggling to finally hit 30 pounds lost. Since I've been bringing my lunch, I can't seem to get my sodium under control. I'm going to have to go back to my protein shake for lunch everyday. UGH. I'm going to miss having variety. Maybe I'll get two different flavors of shakes this time. I'm not supposed to bring appliances that plug in, but I can probably hide a small, personal blender thing here as long as the building manager and security guard don't catch me using it. lol That way I could blend fruits into my shake.

50 POUNDS!! Victoria, I'm so so happy for you. You've put in the hard work and you totally deserve this loss. 50 pounds is a lot of weight, and you've been doing it the healthy way. Eeee! I'm just so excited for you. That's fabulous! 187 is a significant number for me as I remember that's what my weight was at my physical for undergrad- so it'll be big when I surpass it (only 6ish pounds to go!). Doesn't it feel amazing to already be over halfway to your goal? Keep up the fantastic work sweetie. We're all so proud of you!

Kendal- what sort of things have you been bringing for lunch which have been upping your sodium? I think it's important to have variety, so you don't get bored.

Well, it's my long work day of the week. Here at 8 until probably 8. :grumble: At least I should have a nice respite mid-day when I go out to lunch with my old coworkers. Unfortunately, that will also include more calories than I would normally eat for lunch. Especially for a day before weigh-in. Surprisingly, even after the thai food for lunch yesterday (that glorious caloric carby salty goodness), my scale stayed the same as it was the day before. I'm hoping for stability again (or a loss) for final weigh-in. Looking forward to taking my measurements tomorrow to see where I am.

I put on a skirt this morning that I only got maybe a month or so ago, maybe a little bit longer that was a wee bit snug, but it's already getting looser, so I know I'm continuing to lose inches.

Good luck everyone with their last day of the "Shrinking into Summer" challenge and with your last chance work outs! Everyone get ready for "Let's Get Moving in May!"

I thought I was doing "okay" (I use that term loosely) by having a turkey and cheese sandwich on wheat. Apparently I should have looked closer at the turkey I chose on the site cause it only had calories listed. I just realized this morning that I'm having over 650mg of sodium with every serving. And no, thats not the BEST sandwich to have but its cheap and money is tight. I also bring a yoplait 100-120 cal yogurt and another side. This week its been baby carrots or turkey pepperoni with a wedge of Laughing Cow Light Cheese. The pepperoni is great for calories- 17 slices is only 70 cals but the sodium is KILLING ME! I forget how high it is...I've been trying to avoid eating it as often. Its a good snack for me though cause its a lot of food with little cals and it takes a while to eat cause I spread the cheese on the pepperoni. Again though- the sodium sucks.

Kendal- hmm.. I'll have to ponder some other options. For lunch I usually have one of the meals I prepare over the weekend (this week it's an herbed potato salad w/ tomatoes and fresh beans), an apple (a day!), and some other side. I was doing pretzels a lot because they're pretty low calorie, but they don't have much of a nutritional value, so I'm slowly using up the bag I have and won't be buying anymore. I've started having a yoplait light yogurt instead. Then, if I need a late afternoon snack, I'll do a wasa cracker with a wedge of laughing cow. I try and watch my sodium, but some days I'm definitely over as well.

Lunch could have gone a lot worse for me. We went to a vegetarian restaurant in town (YUM!). I had a lunch special, half-sandwich, half soup. The sandwich was a hummus sandwich. Didn't have any cheese... just hummus, lettuce, tomato and carrots on wheat bread. Super yummy. And for soup I had a low-fat white bean chili. Spicy and yummy. It did come with french fries, but it wasn't a gynormous portion. The three of a us split one piece of tiramisu and didn't even finish it, so it wasn't terrible.

Though, as my tonight is my group, I brought a "dinner" to eat right before, but I think because I have a make up session right before group, that won't happen, but I don't want to eat too late tonight, so we'll see what happens. I want to still hit the rec center after work, so I'm not sure when I'll get a third meal in. Perhaps when I get home I can have a yogurt or something small to get in a few more calories, but nothing super heavy with weigh in in the morning.
