What do you order at Subway?

I love subway! I haven't had it since I started dieting, but I was thinking of going sometime soon.

My typical order is a subway melt on Italian herbs and cheese. Cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, a ton of pickles, extra mayo, salt pepper, vinegar, oil.

I don't think that's very healthy though. What do you get? Is it healthy?

    I don't.

I would pick a different fast food place--if it had to be fast food.

subway meats are highly processed and salty. The veggies look gross--wilted and mushy.

I used to get a kids size tuna sandwich, but that was before I educated myself about nutrition.

Honestly, find a different fast food joint. Do you have a Jason's Deli? It's clean, and they have healthier choices. The salad bar is super! From what I understand most of the vegetables are organic.

I love Jasons Deli as well. I absolutely love their Spinach Veggie Wrap. I don't eat at Subway too often either but when I do I have a roasted chicken on wheat with lots of veggies.

I always get a meatball marinara on monteray cheddar with the white cheese. It's not exactly healthy and a 6 inch is 550cals. I don't think it's super unhealthy though. I don't get them very often.

I would eat at Jason's Deli all the time... IF it were within walking distance... however, it's not and Subway is (and it's better than Wendy's)... however, I usually get a 6 inch Turkey on White, with Spinach, Cucumbers, Tomatoes and Pickles with a little bit of yellow mustard. That comes in at around 192 calories and it's pretty filling.

I get 6 inch 9-grain with chicken (no cheese - hate the stuff) and I get it toasted, then get whatever salad I fancy, generally lettuce, cucumber and onion. And no sauce.

I only have fast food if there's only a choice between it and going hungry. Not had one for months!
  • I love Subway, and I don't think it's healthy at all. I like the pizza sub, and the ham with honey mustard sauce. Before going, just check the nutritional information online.

It's true that the meat is no good for you, but I usually get a salad there.
Spinach salad with tons of veggies. Get some apple slices to go with it. I take the apple slices and cut them up into my salad. I like to put a little olive and pickle in the salad too because they have a lot of flavor. I dont put any dressing on it either.
I dont go to Subway very often but my husband and kids like it every once in a while.
Although there are definitely better things for you, Subway can be a somewhat healthy choice every now and then.

Only thing I ever get at Subway is a 6 inch turkey on white with mayo, lettuce and cheese.

Granted, now that I've had Jersey Mikes, I find Subway to be quite inferior and eat there maybe once a year.. if that.

Who cares if it's healthy? It's the bomb, yo

I like to switch it up but I can't stand the "how much lettuce can i throw on a sandwich" game that the employees play. Okay bye.

I'm a health inspector for restaurants, and I can tell you that no-one has fresher vegetables than Subway. They are also typically the cleanest places around, so I eat there regularly.

I choose a ham on wheat bread with all the vegetables, no mayo, just some vinegar to wet it. The six inch is quite low calorie for a lunch so I usually add in a piece of fresh fruit.

Subway is definatly not healthy. There adverts anger me so much with Olympians on acting like they eat from there(lies!!) just make your own it will probably taste better! If u do go thereavoid mayo and cheese at all costs!! Worst things for u in terms of weight gain!

Anything I feel like so long as I have the room in my daily for it. Of course that's a sandwich (not sub) cut in half and then I eat half..... save the other half for later. You'd be surprised at how filling that is.

I work at Subway, and I just want to warn you: Most Subways are DISGUSTING! My owner bought a new store, and you would be amazed the difference. I wish you could all have a store like the one I work in, because if we won't eat it, WE DON'T SERVE IT! Also, be weary of the buffalo chicken and teriyaki chicken. I've heard horror stories about how the chicken would start turning green, so they'd cover it in the sauce so you couldn't see it! As far as actual food goes, I love the philly, turkey with bacon, I make some delicious italian herb and cheese bread. Now I get salads, though because I'm trying to cut out my carbs. I love our sandwiches because we make sure nothing goes out of date, and everything is fresh. But seriously, if the place just looks and feels gross to you, walk right back out that door, and don't go back unless a new owner has taken over. You would be amazed to find that they never cleaned the tea nozzles. They also never cleaned the ice machine. For any restaurant, DON'T GET ICE! That's where everyone gets sick, because mold grows, and if it's not cleaned once a month, it builds, and people get sick. I've seen some really horrid things as far as food and store hygiene goes.

My order is kind of strange because I don't like lettuce or tomatoes, which are generally staples of any "deli" kind of sandwich. But, I get whole wheat bread, avocado, baby spinach, pickles, olives, and American cheese. Occasionally I opt to omit either the cheese or the avocado if I feel like I need to and if I've had too much fat for the day or something, but generally that's what I always get. It's 330 calories, 46 grams of carbohydrates, 12 grams of fat, and 11 grams of protein. It's not the healthiest thing in the world but I absolutely adore the taste and when I'm on the go and need something healthy it's a lot better than most of the other choices out there!

    green pepper
one of the low cal dressings from their list, I can't remember the name (definitely NOT mayo)
    pepper

Ham, American cheese, lettuce, and brown mustard on wheat. Omnom. I think it's about 340 calories.

I eat the very rarely but did on Monday and had a chicken breast on 6 inch flat bread with lettuce, tomatoes minimal mayo and hot sauce lots of hot sauce. It was good. I won't run out every day and eat it but once every 6 months is ok.
