    I am biking the C&O Canal in September (5 days)and walking/running a 10 k in August for the Livestrong Challenge( i usually bike) It has been about 2 years since I did a 5 day ride so I am getting ready for this ride and walk/run by doing one main thing ..get back in shape.

    So I am doing a couch to 10k program at the gym on the elliptical 3 times a week and setting goals for weekly biking both at gym and on the rail to trail in my backyard.

    Biking goal 100 miles April

    4/1.... 2.5 gym
    4/3.....4.0 gym
    4/4.....5.0 gym
    4/7...10.0 trail
    4/10...2.0 gym
    4/12...2.0 gym

    Can you tell me about the C&O canal bike ride - is it a vacation type ride or is it for a charity? I've been wanting to do that for a while...

    Count me in! I use my exercise bike....so it'll all be inside. I always go for 25 minutes, so that'll be the easiest thing to log. Since I'm just joining, I'm going to say count me in for 4 days a week.....Hopefully I'll do more but I tend to slack off & get lazy. Maybe this will get me motivated!

    I totally read your post as that you go for 25 miles---on an indoor bike----and was going to ask how long that takes you! I had some serious inferiority feelings but then 1 read 25 min. Sheesh! I know a lot of people in the group hit big miles on outdoor rides but I can't imagine doing such a long ride indoors without getting super bored or having "saddle sores" the next day =(
