Unless you're takng steroids, that look is likely to evade you anyway. Most of the women who lift heavy on this site aren't bulky...
It really depends on what is meant by "bulky". I've seen many women on this site that are what I consider too "bulky".

It's me....isn't it?
I have no names. I wasn't talking about specific individuals, I was talking about about how what people envision when they think "bulky" differs.
There are, however, at least 3 female profile pics on this thread that I would call "bulky" (and no, I won't name names because that would be rude and I doubt they care about my opinion anyway, and no, one is not you) . I can't speak for the OP, though. She may have a different definition of bulky.0 -
I didn't ask about your point or your wording. I asked for names.
Name names. Send by pm if you don't want to leave it here. I want to see if we're on the same page0 -
I've been training with weights for over 15 years and have yet to bulk up. I'm also a distance runner so it does attribute to smaller size but I train hard in the gym and still consider having feminine attributes.

Oddly enough there are only 3 women with profile pictures of their flexed back. I don't think anyone could consider the after shot of me in my profile picture bulky, but I look quite similar to the others when I wear a sports bra and flex my back/arms. The women who posed flexed for their pictures do NOT look like that 99.99% of the time.
my posted pic is not what I look like unless it's a competition day, but I do stay within 10-15 lbs of it. Not sure if I'll do another competition but will continue my training in the gym.
Mavd - you look wonderful in your profile pic - keep it up!0 -
I don't think I look bulky, just toned?...I however, have 10-l5 lbs of fat to lose-but that's where my diet comes in.
I currently:
squat 120 8x3
bench 85 8x3
dead 95 8x3
overhead/miltary 55 8x3

You look great and definitely not bulky but unfortunately the translation of "bulky" is lost amongst the majority so don't be surprised if you are labelled too.
Btw your progress is very admirable. You inspire me.0 -
If you have pecks, not boobs.. you are probably bulky. Having said that, my flabby self would be happy to look bulky0

Cause I'm betting that what you're thinking of as 'too bulky' is simply 'too lean'.
They are not the same.
I'm not going to argue the semantics, because that is exactly my point.
'Bulky' is a factor of the amount of muscle a person has. Leanness if a factor of bodyfat levels. These are in no way the same thing, and neither word can be substituted for the other. Call it semantics if you like...but again, these simply aren't the same thing.
To illustrate (AGAIN) how lifting heavy, even to the point of actual female bodybuilding...canNOT make you 'bulky' without chemical help:
Tianna Ta, fitness competitor, on season:
And off season:
Believe me, she doesn't give up an OUNCE of her 'bulk' during the off season. It's too hard to gain back. Her seemingly 'visible' increase in musculature is a factor of incredibly low bodyfat levels...nothing more.0
