Is a hangover a good enough reason to skip my gym workout today?
I should probably burn off all the calories from last night, but I feel pretty rotten, even after drinking 2L of water and taking ibuprofen for my headache.

I could never work out hungover. I once went to a hot yoga class hungover and actually thought I was going to die!
I don't get hungover often, but when I do I definitely do NOT go to the gym. No one needs to see me ralph all over the treadmill.0 -
Depends how bad you want this! Personally I'd say making up for a night of drinking is an even better incentive to workout.0

You could go halfway - just show up and dial down the intensity or amount of time you spend.0

I went to a yoga class after I had some drinks in the afternoon... it was rough. But I felt better about myself about going.0

Depends on how often you are hungover.0

Yes
Just make sure it doesn't happen consistently.......0 -
I NEED to walk if I've been drinking the night before.
Always feel better after.0 -
In my opinion, no. But you make your own decisions. Who knows, you might even feel better afterwards. I will say this much though .. I'd take it easy at first. I wouldn't go all high intensity right from the start ... higher risk of puking, more then likely. Lol0

Best reply I've ever heard. :drinker:0 -
Nothing better than sweating out vodka. I used to go to a 9am pilates class religiously on Saturday Mornings in college. My roommates thought I was crazy. Rain or shine, walk of shame necessary, still drunk, I was there. Want to know how I spent my Saturday, in a great mood. Hangovers are never a reason to miss a gym day. In fact, they might be a great reason to go to the gym. :happy:0

I only drink once in a blue moon, so a hangover is not a regular occurrence for me. BUT I did skip my gym workout yesterday as well because I was just too busy.
I think I will go with some low intensity cardio to start with, and see how I feel after that.

There are lots of good reasons to skip the gym.0

If you have to ask, you already know the answer.0

Good on you if you decide to do it. I can barely move when I'm hung over. Usually riding the porcelain bus.0

You don't HAVE to go to the gym to get in a workout. If you're not feeling up to it, do something at home. There are lots of videos on YouTube that you can do. That way if you feel too sick you're not out...0

No. GO.0

Nope. I do my best work when I am hungover.
Two aspirins and a bottle of H2O and kick *kitten*!0 -
No, just make sure to bring your own bucket0

Nope... at least not in my book. If you are hydrated and able to function, head to the gym for some light cardio or something. It usually helps the hangover go away (at least for me). If you don't feel hydrated and all nauseous, take it easy.
Your healthy choices shouldn't get in the way of your life, but should become your lifestyle. Getting totally wasted is not really good for multiple reasons. If you're committed to being healthy, heavy drinking is usually out...
sorry.0 -
I wouldnt. Itll make ou more dehydrated. Maybe a light walk.0

I once went out in freezing weather and ran a couple of miles while hung over. I felt a whole lot better after that. I was in my 20s, though. Probably would not do that again.0

Probably would not do that again.
Get or run hungover?0 -
Depending on the intensity (of the hangover!) I usually feel better after a workout. If it was a big night with lots of shots or something I find those are treated better with sleep :P0
-
Probably would not do that again.
Get or run hungover?
I don't really get hung over anymore; I like wine, but not the headaches that come from overdoing it, so I enjoy it in moderation.
I don't run outdoors in 30-degree weather anymore. Too hard on my lungs.0 -
I would still go. Loads of water, and perhaps take it a bit easier than normal; but I'd still go0
