What accessories do you bring to the gym?

Gripz take the tension away from the main muscles your working, so I don't feel like they're a good accessory unless you're just using them on last reps / finishing sets. I just bring my phone and head phones and if I'm doing chest day I might bring gloves.
thats not true at all. Wrist straps don't take anything away from the muscles you're working on. They actually increase intensity on that muscle. The whole idea of wrist straps is so you can go beyond grip failure. Its been proven in studies that people who use wrist straps on heavy weights can squeeze out 1 or 2 more reps every time than people who do not. If you're worried about your grip strength then you can incorporate grip strength training into your routine.0 -

Man, I tried those Fat Gripz things for the first time last week and they are EVIL. Four days later and I couldn't even squeeze a lime into my G&T.
Seriously, though, yes, they're great for grip strength but unless you're a horseshoe-bender/phonebook-ripper/Popeye, you shouldn't be using them all the time. You're going to wear out your grip before you can do much of anything for whatever muscle you're actually trying to work with that lift.
On my most accessorized day, I bring:
Work Blackberry
Personal Cell
iPod/earbuds
Workout log + pen
Lifting straps
Towel
And no, I don't take calls on either of those phones, but I need to have them with me for email/texting availability. And I go stand somewhere out of the way to check them. No Angry Birds in the squat rack!0
