Ddumb to drink 2 Tablespoons of olive oil to up calories?

I need to up my calories. Having a tough time eating when I am not hungry. So just now, I downed 2 tablespoons of olive oil for a 240 cal hit. I looked through my macros for the past 2 weeks and I have some room to add fat and stay within my targets. I could add the olive oil to something I guess vs. a shot from the itty bitty espresso cup.
Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Add olive oil to air popped popcorn?!
I mean.. yeah I wouldn't just drink it. But it's lovely on popcorn.0 -
Not really anything wrong with doing this. But I personally would prefer to find a way to work it into a meal or snack.0

I can't imagine it would be harmful. Just not very tasty. Onegonzo's suggestion of putting it on popcorn is a good one if you find the taste too much.0

I like that idea. Just looked at my peanut butter jar and 2 tablespoons will get me 190 calories. I didn't mind the taste of the olive oil. Just felt weird drinking it straight. I don't eat popcorn.0 -

^^This. Drizzle some chocolate sauce on top and you've hit your calorie goal with a much better tasting treat than drinking oil. :ohwell:0 -

I put a tablespoon of it in my protien shake every morning. I've also put it in yogurt and didn't taste it in there.0

If it is high-end pure olive oil, and you like it, maybe not bad. If you were gong for the omega fatty acids and the currently praised health benefit of olive oil vs. anything else high-cal and fat, I guess that's cool, but I'd rather eat it ON or IN something. Some folks have been known to top a 1/4 cup of vanilla bean ice cream (the really good stuff, not the air-whipped kind) with a drizzle of olive oil for the sweet/salty hit.
If I'm eating it straight though...I'd go for the coconut oil. It tastes like eating coconut, and is a paste like peanut butter when it's room temp (about 70 degrees).0 -

EXACTLY my thoughts :-) And I have to say that I don't usually have too much trouble meeting calories...don't really have a problem leaving myself a couple hundred or so under a couple (or a few!) days a week because I *know* that I'll have some splurge days on weekends etc. where I will go over my calorie goal even when exercising some common sense and restraint.
So yeah, short answer, probably wouldn't drink EVOO. But the good news is that you could eat far worse things!0 -

After talking with a dietician on here a while ago I did learn that the best thing you can do is to eat things in their most natural form as possible and oil is extracted from whatever it came from(seeds, nuts.. etc) so you can use some very sparingly but it's best to get the fats from the actual source itself so go for nuts as the others said and don't just eat peanuts please, there are lots of nut that have great benifits especially walnuts for their omega 3's. Eat avocadoes, oily fish like salmon, sardines, herrings etc.. sprinkle seeds on your meals, use full fat dairy as it has more vitamins than lower fat versions and eat the yolks of eggs since that is where the healthy fats and other vitamins are. Also plan ahead in the future too so you don't fall short of your calories.0

I'd make myself a salad with some olive oil, vinegar and mustard for dressing. Even if it's just lettuce. It would be more tasty at least (I don't like pb).0

There are more pleasurable ways to get it (like dark chocolate, nuts, dried fruits, ice cream, peanut butter - eating 2Tbsp. of that is a lot tastier) but if you don't like eating it sounds okay. Olive oil *is* good for you, after all.0

None of this has any factual basis. It sounds good, I guess, but it's not true. People come up with some crazy theories on here.
And why are people recommending PB instead? The whole point is EASILY digestible calories that are not filling. As in not PB. Peanut Butter is what starving dieters crave, not people who are struggling to eat more.0 -

Can you put it on your greens instead, like a dressing? It's actually pretty healthy to to combine fats and greens as they work together to bring more nutrients into the body.0
