A League of Their Own is hands down my favorite movie of all time. I've seen it a million times, and the scene where she drops the ball and the umpire yells safe I STILL get goosebumps.
And also because it's hilarious. "You think there are people in this world who haven't seen your bossoms?"0 -
The Replacements...it makes me laugh so much. :laugh:0

When I was married years ago my step-kids watched every air-bud movie ever made.
What is the soccer game that has Mike Ditka in it?0 -
MIRACLE
And there is no close 2nd.0 -
The longest yard and Radio were enjoyable for different reasons too...0

It Happens Every Spring (1949). Not realistic, but a fun baseball film. Similar to the original Angels in the Outfield in terms of fantasy.
Goon (2011) was a great hockey movie.
The 1974 film The Longest Yard was fun.
If we're counting horse racing as a sport, the Sea Biscuit.0 -
Remember the Titans
Blindside
I'm a sucker for tearjerkers and true stories :]
Also Whip It. And I second (third, fourth?) Sandlot. When I was a kid I probably watched Angels in the Outfield at least 100 times.0 -
Alltime fave sports movie - Remember the Titans.

This is definitely on my list! I also concur with The Sandlot, The Blindside, A League of Their Own and Rookie of the Year!0 -
"The Phillie Phanatic Goes Hollywood"
The Philly Phanatic, He's Hot!!! Go Phils!!!!! Fave Sport Movie: The ones with Adam Sandler of course!! Happy Gilmore, The Longest yard and Water Boy :laugh:0 -
Not much for sports movies and don't even follow hockey, but I loved "Slap Shot". Paul Newman is great in it and who can forget the Hanson brothers? Everyone here apparently, but still, worth a view. Funny with an edge.0

I grew up on Slap Shot.... Good, but it's more of a "cult classic".0 -
Sandlot
Hoosiers
Remember the Titans
And Varsity Blues for nothing other than implanting the idea of whipped cream bikinis into my head!
"I don't want your life!" Oh James Van Der Beek....0 -
Field of Dreams: "Ty Cobb wanted to play. We told him to stick it!"
Bull Durham: "Anything travels that far oughta have a damn stewardess on it, don't you think?"0 -
We're talking baseball movies and no one's mentioned Pride of the Yankees? Tsk tsk
And in no particular order: Major League, Field of Dreams, Bull Durham.0 -
