Sometimes..when I spell banana...I don't know when to stop.
Banananananananana
yes! this^^^ haha0 -
Hi, there is nothing worse than trying to look up a food item and you can't find what you want because the name of the food is spelled incorrectly. For example..it's banana...NOT bananna...
Please double check your spelling before you submit a food entry.. Thank you in advance.:flowerforyou:
I m sure no one goes out their way to get it wrong ..
You obviously knew a banana was a bananna and here in the uk where we speak propper english a color is a colour but we dont complain of a nations lousy spelling !!!
Um....that would be NATION'S. N-A-T-I-O-N APOSTROPHE S. There are also a few places that were lacking the proper usage of commas, but I'm willing to overlook that.
BURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flowerforyou:
British English was the first 'English" language I learned. When I moved to the USA and attended school, I had a lot of difficulties with spelling and grammar. Spelling colour as color doesn't mean the nation has lousy spelling. It means English has evolved. Living languages change, grow and adapt. Lastly, American English has been separated from British English for so many years. Did you expect it the stay the same? A great example of this is Modern French and Quebecois French.0 -
My name is MizTerry and I am a grammar nazi.
There, I've said it.
Can I be cured? NEVER.0 -

People with a poor spelling are smarter than you'd think.
Yep !!!
Some of us speak several languages and it obviously gets tricky when you cant remember you french from your italian or native tongue.. (ps, i just like poking a stick at the usa to see if they have a sense of humour !)0 -
I'm sorry I started this and I'm sorry for my concern to make sure our extensive database is correct. In this day and age of computers there is no excuse to spell words incorrectly. Please excuse my expectations for excellence. How does it look to a new member on this site when they look up a food and see mispelled words? It does not look kindly on its members. Just my two cents and again, please excuse my belief in doing things right.0
-
Get over it!!! The entries are in there because someone took the time to enter them!! If you do not like taking the time to look through the mispellings ENTER THEM YOURSELF!!! This site is intended for motivation...there is no spelling test to enter.0

The problem with computers and spellcheck is that they aren't always correct.
Go and search the database for "brain". Seriously. You will find "all brain, raisin brain".
Spellcheck wouldn't pick up that it should be bran and not brain.0 -

Just one more thought. Yes, I posted about spelling, again because I believe in excellence. I'm really amazed at how nasty some of the replies were. I was told "really?". Well I'm saying "really", can't we be nice to each other? No, I get criticized for expecting things to be done right. I am amazed.0
