    i gained just over 2#s this week. i guess all the bad caught up. no biggie. back in control again. (i think). getting my hair cut today. that should do something for the self esteem that is low right now.

    Stayed the same this week....bummer! Oh well...still under my goal weight for the challenge and we still have a week left!!

    Amy (baha)....YAY!!! 3 pounds is fantastic!!! Nice work!

    Cathy...don't worry about the small gain! Like Amy said, could easily be holding onto some water. And a new hair cut is a great motivator!! I need one myself!

    AFM...Ate a bunch of salt-water taffy last night which kind of bums me out! But it's okay...and I counted EVERY piece! Did get in a great run with Kadence! Burned 331 calories in a half hour! YAY! I LOVE the jogging stroller! BEST.GIFT.EVER.

    Plan for today:
    B-oatmeal, 1/2 c. skim milk, 2 c. coffee, 4 tbsp. sugar-free creamer
    S-trail mix bar, banana
    L-Leftover homemade Chicken and rice casserole...YUM! with baby carrots and light yogurt
    S-D'Anjou pear
    D-Homemade lasagna...YUM! Need to figure out calories still, but using ground turkey, fat free cottage cheese and reduced fat cheddar/mozzarella...shoud be yummy! With a garden salad!
    S-???Not sure yet...probably some fruit...pineapple or cantelope

    Exercise plan:
    2 mile run with Kadence and hopefully 15 minute Ab workout

    Hey all,

    Sorry for being MIA have been taking care of a sick little girl, but seems to be doing much better today, she woke up and was happy and excited for breakfast... YEAH!

    Well I have not done that great on the exercise or eating front, so I am trying to recommit today for this last week of the challenge. I will be happy with getting into the 2 teens to finish out the challenge.

    So I will do personals later during dd nap time.

    I am going to try to log my meals this week and see if I can stay on track. So for breakfast I had :

    1 slice of sourdough toast with laughing cow light spread

    Not sure yet about the rest of day..

    what a boring day. i just don't want to do anything. haircut was just trimmed up to a short bob. was going to cut it all off, but, she said this is the easiest style of wash and go. which is what i wanted. it's off the neck for the summer. if i don't like it i can always go back and cut it off. but, so far so good. nothing in it and it's good.

    not much planned for the week. i have got to find something to do. maybe some deep cleaning. the closets, my desk area. i really need to do that stuff.

    For lunch :

    homemade pork tamale and 10 cherry tomatoes

    Snack:

    1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese and 1/2 of artichoke

    For dinner:

    2 cups of homemade veggie beef stew
    1 slice of garlic roasted sourdough bread

    Snack:

    1 cup sliced strawberries with 2 tablespoons of light whipped cream
    2 glasses of chardonny


    3 - 1 liter bottles of water

    burned over 1500 cals mowing lawns for 4 hours.

    I did pretty good today!

    Great job on all the losses. I might be able to get back to my original weight. Of course, next week is my "ovulation week", and that is when the worst symptoms come with severe bloating, pain, and emotional eating. So my goal is to not eat just because I'm in pain and need comfort. But drinking wine on the other hand...(JK). The good thing is, if it hits, it will be around the time I have my doctor's appointment and I can explain specifically what is hurting. Hubby thinks it could partly be stress/psychosomatic related. I told him I'm willing to accept and acknowledge that (started doing more yoga and stretching to relax), but I need to rule everything physical out first. Other than the normal blood tests, can anyone suggest any other specific tests I should ask for that are off the norm?

    I hope you all have a great week. For me, busy, busy, trying to catch up from being on my butt last week and preparing for an upcoming "down time" with next weeks pain (the anticipation is almost as bad). Lots of bible teaching, helping my eight year old son practice his 4 minute Spanish bible reading that he gives in front of our congregation in two weeks, trying to get laundry done (my hero, Cathy), and finally get some yard work done. Time flies when you are having fun?

    lula....if your ovaries are the pain causers, why not have them removed? i think you mentioned that, and needing to be down for a good bit. the time down would it be that much longer than when you are down with the pain? hats off to you for bearing the pain month in and month out. i would wimp out. you are one strong woman. i love doing laundry, hanging it out and folding and putting away. it just smells so clean to me. time does fly when we are having fun. LOL. have you ever heard of that internet lady "flylady". she has cleaning suggestions to make it easier. interesting.

    i had a restless night. don't know why. just couldn't sleep. this morning already made my jello. i have been on this sugar free jello kick. it's only 10cal for 1/2 cup. so with cool whip and 1 cup it about 40. doing a walk on treadmill this morning. my heel has been hurting. than normal house chores and nothing else on the books. may go to the library today. i like the library.

    As to why I am debating having the ovary removed is of course the downtime and lack of money, but also because I had such a severely bad reaction to the birth control pill with depression that I am afraid of messing with my hormones more and not being able to control the hormonal change. My kids understand pain, but the depression was a whole different ball game to inflict upon them. Even in pain, I can still be part of their lives, even if it is just snuggling in bed. The depression makes me feel so hopeless and listless and they miss out on productive time with me...and that is my biggest concern and worry.

    Sorry about your restless night. Maybe get a good book and take a rest and relax this afternoon? You definitely deserve it! Yummy jello. What's your favorite flavor? Ever made it with fresh fruit in it? Double yummy.

    Good morning...:yawn: I got ZERO sleep last night. Kadence isn't feeling well and seiously...she didn't go to bed until around midnight and was back up at 2:00...and we've been up pretty much since then. Hoping to get out of work a little early this afternoon.

    Lorna - Good luck getting through the pain, I know my mother delt with severe cysts and had major problems for a few years, but she was so young the doctors did not want to do a hysterectomy but in the end that is what happened, it was for the best, hard but for the best. She was put on anti- depresents to help with the depression side and that seemed to help alot. I know it is not for everyone but sometimes is work out for the best. Best wishes and hoping the doctors can give you some relief.

    Cathy - nice job on the house work, I just recently discovered flylady, have not put it all together yet on the cleaning front but we are moving in 1 1/2 months so I am getting some good advice from there site. Hope to follow the plan once we are in our new apartment. We also love jello around here it is a great dessert.

    Kristin - I feel for you, I hope your little one is feeling better today. It is no fun when they are sick or teething.

    As for me I got to go to the gym last night and it felt great, my friend was supposed to meet me but she did not make it so I stayed a little longer and got in 30 minutes on the circut training cardio and strength combined so burned some extra calories!!!
    Today is busy with story time and going to the store. I figure me and dd will hit the park tonight since the weather is so nice. My dh is golfing since it is mens night at the golf course on Wednesdays, so it is just us girls for today.

    I also have packing and organizing to do since we will be moving soon, so hope to get everything done today.

    i like the cherry, lime. wish they had sugar free grape. i get the strawberry too. never thought of the putting fruit in it. been looking out for good deals of fruit the last two days. just so expensive.

    i get the depression. my hysterectomy was forced, so went through that. i use st.johns wart, for mood, and black cohash for night sweats. my sister got breast cancer from hormone therapy. so doctor won't put me on them and i too can't take birth control. these are working great have for years now.

    off to fix lunch.

I hate the dentist and haven't been in years.:noway: But I have finally broke down and made an appointment because I have been suffering with a bad tooth for almost a year. There is a new dentist in town that is suppose to be gentle. I sure hope so.:wink:

    i am soooooo bored. i have things to do i just don't want to do them.

    decided to skip snack today. wasn't hungry and thought this is the new meds. so i need to listen to my tummy for a change. getting a little hungry now, but, dinner in about an hour. will hold off until then.

    Great job on all the losses. I might be able to get back to my original weight. Of course, next week is my "ovulation week", and that is when the worst symptoms come with severe bloating, pain, and emotional eating. So my goal is to not eat just because I'm in pain and need comfort. But drinking wine on the other hand...(JK). The good thing is, if it hits, it will be around the time I have my doctor's appointment and I can explain specifically what is hurting. Hubby thinks it could partly be stress/psychosomatic related. I told him I'm willing to accept and acknowledge that (started doing more yoga and stretching to relax), but I need to rule everything physical out first. Other than the normal blood tests, can anyone suggest any other specific tests I should ask for that are off the norm?

    I hope you all have a great week. For me, busy, busy, trying to catch up from being on my butt last week and preparing for an upcoming "down time" with next weeks pain (the anticipation is almost as bad). Lots of bible teaching, helping my eight year old son practice his 4 minute Spanish bible reading that he gives in front of our congregation in two weeks, trying to get laundry done (my hero, Cathy), and finally get some yard work done. Time flies when you are having fun?

    Have you had a pelvic ultrasound? Its no fun but gives a clear picture of your ovaries! But dont make the mistake I did by drinking your water too fast. I found out that makes your intestines swell and makes it nearly impossible to pick up your ovaries on the ultrasound. I dont have the same problems you do but have been in poor health for some time. In my opinion, I am depressed. Its not bad but enough that it affects my life. I would be crushed to have a hysterectomy because I am not done having kids but in the end I would feel better and I think my mood would improve greatly. Have they ruled out PCOS? Have you had a C125 blood test? Endometriosis?

    SIXERS!! Gosh how I have missed all of you, well MISS all of you, because sadly I am still not back full time. I am prolly going to arrive @ Sea Base on Friday. I am in a hotel for the night. I will try and get out the scale and weigh in tomorrow morning. I am just praying I didnt gain to much from all the unhealthy eating I have been going through with the traveling and vacation. I cant wait to get back into a routine when I get to Sea Base, It will take some time for me to play with things to figure out what will work best, but I will make sure I stay on the band wagon, I really want to be a size 10 by fall.. So I will keep doing great!

    PDX - Thank you for your input. Sonogram, yes. That's how they found the cysts. I also think it's scar tissue from my gallbladder surgery (didn't take it easy like I should), but it is definitely cyclical. The C125 is a test I hadn't thought of, but will add it to my list for next week.

    Cathy - It's ridiculous how expensive fruit can be, especially in season. Any farmer's markets available. We are fortunate even in the city to have lots of farmer's markets and the fruit is SOOOO delish.

    Amy - How is your week going? Any "new" news?

    Kel - Hope your dentist appointment went well. I've got mine next week (had to cancel due to sinus drainage this week), so I feel for you.

    Crazy day yesterday with not great eating. A 22 year old brother of my daughter's friend had a brain aneurysm burst. The sad thing? He went to Johns Hopkins Jan 2009 and because he had a green card but not a citizen, they refused to treat it with other than medication because he had no insurance, even though his very American girlfriend was going to pay for it. Now, that bill they were worried about is now going to be astronomical as he has had to have long surgery, now in ICU in a coma, and another surgery coming up, plus rehab. And all of this could have been prevented a year ago. So sad for the family. So it meant a a quick rush to the hospital with a long day with nothing but junk to eat. Today is a new day. I will pack lunch ahead of time.

    On a positive note, I did 30 push-ups this morning. Granted the last 3 were "sagging" push ups and my hands are arms are shaking so bad, but I'm still proud of myself.

    P.S. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, yesterday I saw my goal weight for this challenge (back to 140.8) on the scale. Not going to post it, but am definitely going to use it as my incentive to keep me going this week.

    me...nothing on the books today. son coming by so i can hem his pants. says he feels official now. he got his uniform and badge. he was in the police cadets as a teen, thought he would go that field. didn't, now he wants to again. he may just have to be a rent-a-cop. he will 30 next year and he may be too old now to join.
    laundry going. have 4 loads today. i only do laundry 1 maybe 2 days a weeks. sprinklers are on and the garden is in bloom. have lots of peas.

    Morning! Not much time to talk...

    Kadence slept a little better and seems to be feeling better also! But I still didn't get much sleep and am exhausted! Didn't get in any exercise last night (bummer) and ate more calories than needed! Feeling heavier today...and the next few nights probably won't be much better...have to do a bunch of laundry and cleaning tonight and am staying at my parents tomorrow night...so exercise may be non-existent for the next couple days. But I'm going to try and watch what I eat and hope for a smaller number on Tuesday!

    ANYways...need to get started on some work...have a great morning!

    Good afternoon all,

    Today has been a little crazy husband is home sick, minor stomach flu and aches, hope it is gone by this weekend. Abby had speech therapy this morning I think she trys to not say one thing while her therapist is here because once she left this morning she said bye and more milk and thankyou then went into dad and babbled away.

    But even with hubby home it was nice I got to go grocery shopping by myself, spent to much but got alot of stuff. Anyways have my nieces softball game to go to tonight and then hope to hit the gym once dd is asleep.

    Will do personals later have some cleaning to do while she is napping.
