You should look into Couch to 5k. It is a program that uses intervals of walking and running. Eventually you will be able to run a 5k. It's cool because it starts off easier and each week as you get better the program pushes you to the next level. Good luck, don't give up!!!0

jimmmer is right on - you have to watch out for the pressure you are putting on your joints trying to 'run' at this point.
You may also want to check out Jeff Galloway; he's an Olympic athlete that specializes in run/walk training.0
