I told my sister I wanted Snoop and Pharrell's "Drop it Like it's Hot" playing as they lower my casket into the ground.

    I can't take anything seriously.

LMFAO. That is just great. It'd give everyone a good laugh.

    Comfortably Numb (Pink Floyd).

I'm thinking that at long last my back and knees will stop hurting.....

    Good track.

Mine would be "Adagio" by Barber or "An Ending (Ascent)" by Brian Eno. I'd probably have to slip in an upbeat electro number in there too.

Don't laugh but Queen - Don't Stop Me Now. I think it would bring some joy to the sadness.

My song is going to be Queen's "Another one Bites the Dust". I have had this picked out since I was a teenager! This post excited me because I've always had a song picked out and when I discussed it with my best friend she made me feel weird and morbid. Nothing weird or morbid about facing reality right? My husband and my son know what I want and have promised me they will have it played. My original intention was to play the song on the way to the graveyard and have the music blasting from ice cream truck-like speakers. Now that I'm older I'm settling for just the song to be played somehow.

I don't find a lot of opportunities to tell this story, so here goes.

My mom has told us for years she wants Amazing Grace played on bagpipes at her funeral. No question.

Her sister came to visit one time and the subject of funerals came up. My mom told her sister, "My kids all know what is going to be played at my funeral," and looked pointedly at me. Being the wise cracking teenager that I was, I started singing, "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead." My mom and her sister both thought it was hysterical and I swear we all laughed till we cried.
