Has MFP replaced your fb?

I'm here more. On FB, people were always posting pics of food with recipes. I can't handle that!0

i haven't had facebook for about 3 years because on canada day a drunk ex told me he was looking through my pictures wondering "what happened to me" because of my weight gain. he said i used to be so pretty and now i'm just fat.
so, after telling him i'm going to kick his *kitten*, i hung up and cried lol. then went and deactivated my facebook account.
i don't miss it. but yes MFP had taken it's place. and i love it!0 -

I use both equally. I still use Facebook to keep in touch with my close friends and family.0

he doesn't matter now, but it did hurt at the time.
once i'm in shape, i'll post new pictures and once he tries to contact me (which i know he will), i will tell him to suck it0 -
Oh hellz yeah. I only stay on FB bc of all my pics they are holding hostage.0

I have a very one track mind. Other than working and raising my kids, fitness is pretty much all I think about. I figure people on fb get as tired of me posting about that as I do of them repeatedly sharing stupid recipes and crap. So I don't use it very much anymore.0

So far, MFP hasn't replaced my Facebooking, but some days I find myself on MFP more than others...0
-
Absolutely not. I like the tools to count calories and workouts on here, but outside a few on topic posts. I don't really read the forums. FB is different because almost everybody I'm connected to, sans a few followers, I have met face to face and have interactions with in real time. The rest is events invites, I stay connected with the communities I'm most involved with and build my day to day schedule there.
Nothing wrong with MFP at all. Its just different.0 -
Yes for sure! Although the ads here freeze up the page0

I deleted my Facebook over a year ago, Facebook was dumb.
Been here for about 2 months now.
So, I can't say this replaced Facebook, but yes I am on here all the time and love this site. I am never on Facebook and don't miss it one bit.0 -
What's facebook... :indifferent:
:laugh:0 -
Definitely ;-)0

Yes! I've come back on here but not to face book must be two years I gave up Facebook!
I prefer it here0 -
I'm a HATER...yep, a FB HATER! I keep my account deactivated most of the time. I just get on there every couple of weeks to check up on many of my family members. I figure if they're close enough friends/family they should have my # and can text me if they need something. FB HATERS UNITE!!!0
-
Never even signed up to it in the first place - don't like the idea of it!
At least this site has a point......0 -
I use my Facebook, some, because I have family on there. I use my MFP, though, several times a day - and look so much more forward to these interactions.0
-
I prefer Facebook, I know everyone personally on there and I don't read their posts and get angry :explode:0
-
Still there but I now call it Fakebook.0
-
I spend more time on here than Facebook. Maybe its because i can be more naked?0
-
well looking at your pic I'm not complaining0
-
No, in fact most of my MFP friends are now FB friends too0
-
I don't do book of faces.0
-
Still use FB a bit.......MFP is a gazillion times better tho!0
-
Yep. I was never a fan of fb anyway. And even though my friends on fb are actually people I've known my whole life, I'm actually more concerned about and closer to my MFP friends.0
-
These days, I spend more time on MFP than FB and the good friends I've made on MFP are friends on FB too :bigsmile:0
-
Yes. I used to log into facebook every day, but I started realizing that almost 90% of the stuff in my news feed I couldn't care less about :P I never learned anything from facebook except how to take a picture of yourself with a duckface in a mirror... I think MFP is a much better "time waster" than facebook ever was. Plus, it's nice to be surrounded by people with similar goals
^^ this.
Like the original poster said, I care more about my friends on MFP and their progress than all the millions of mundane posts on FB. Although in saying that, were it not for one of my FB friends posting a link to MFP, I wouldn't be here at all :laugh:0 -
Not really, never been that in to facebook.0
-
Feel like i've ditched FB for MFP....its becoming such a natural part of my routine.....considering fully ditching facebook but then I think my friends that I see daily are on their. Feeling torn between supportive MFP friends and my FB ones!0
-
Yup, slowly more and more MFP is overtaking FB for me.0
