"Who are you and why do you keep following me"
    or
point to her/him and start screaming "It wasn't me. It was him/her and the one-armed man"

"Do you know why we're in jail! Don't say a word to police besides asking why we are here. , they will try to separate us and get us to confess to some crime we know nothing about. Request a lawyer and exercise your 5th amendment right to not incriminate yourself and ME!"

Jail is a stressful place, the cold temperature, the center-block walls, not even enough space to call it a broom closet, watching other people **** in other holding cells, trying to sleep on an iron cold slab. It's meant to punish and break people down so they become more docile, malleable, and think twice before committing another crime. It's cruel, but perhaps not unusual.

Of course that is if the jail has a single holding cell per prisoner, the sleep deprivation, isolation, and cold temperature will usually make people cry and become slightly psychotic within a day or two. If you're placed into a drunk tank unit, then you have to deal with other people. a lot of those people can be extremely drunk, high on drugs, and highly aggressive and violent., so it's best to keep to yourself and don't make eye contact.
