I hate to say this but it is hard for family to be the support you need.

I agree with you flowergirl45 my family always tell me "your fine the way you are" its okay for them. For some strange reason ALL my family members are skinny and can eat what they like and not put on anything.

I want to thank everyone again but now after all the comments/arguments/debating; I am now totally torn and confused.

I think I will stick to the 2300 calories I have been aiming for as a start. I get my Garmin F110 today so hopefully that will encourage me to walk more.

It wasn't my idea to cause arguments when starting this post but for help, guidance and advice. I have a LOT of weight to lose nearly 200lbs whilst already having arthritis in my knees it is getting important. No I don't have the motivation to do it which is why it is harder for me to get off my lazy *kitten* and go out. I have no idea why but that's just me.

aww don't be silly, we know you didn't come on here to start any rows! Some people on MFP could start a fight in an empty room, seriously don't worry about it!

Just count your calories, eat less than you burn. That is all you need to worry about right now. :flowerforyou:

    Gavin:
I belong to Planet Fitness. Yes people make fun of it cause they have pizza night the first Monday of the month. I don't eat pizza so I don't care. If I ate pizza then I would fit it in.

But my point of PF is there are all sizes, ages and colors there. That is why I love it. The man who is 400 or more pounds on the treadmill is my hero. If he can do it and not be uncomfortable. Then guess what so can I. Since being at PF I have challenged myself and enjoyed the sweat more than ever.

I am not sure how much you weigh but I am going to send you a message about another idea.

I find walking outside even if only 20 minutes puts me in a happy mood. When I don't I don't have that feel good mood. So that is a motivation for me. (mainly works best in the morning)

Start your food goals out small since you are having a hard time. Maybe only have a few sodas a week instead of everyday. Maybe fast food cut that in half of what you normally do and try to eat healthy the other days. Then each week slowly go less for each goal until maybe you only eat fast food once a month. The good thing about counting calories is really you can eat what you want as long as you stay within your calorie goal. Eventually you would like to slowly add new healthy foods in and take out the crappy food as much as possible. I have found that healthy food you can eat more of it and it don't make you hungry, like bad stuff.

I eat good for the most part but still will have crappy food sometimes. I also have my days that I go over my calorie goal, but instead of getting mad at myself I just start each day over. It will happen, we all have our bad days and that is OK.

Just keep at it.. good luck on your journey! You can do this! One day at a time.

Feel free to add me. I have an open food and exercise diary. (Embarrassed to say this week I had a few not so good days.)

You don't need a gym. Find a park or walking path and walk for half an hour or so a day. Just work it up a little each day.

The food will be harder. Instead of starting with a -2lb a week goal you can start with -1lb a week. Get used to tracking and make some changes then work on cutting the calories until you can hit that goal without feeling like you are starving yourself.
