If you stay on a low-calorie diet long enough, eventually your body will lose the hunger response, even though it is depleted of nutrients. Until you get used to eating a bit more, you can't really trust your hunger signals, or lack thereof. Eat a healthy level of calories, whether you "feel" like it or not!

Is you weight maintaining or even going up a little? Your intake seems fine!

Eat more, lift weights, maybe some cardio if you like to but don't be scared of food. Find out how much you should be eating exactly and eat it so you will look as good as you can. Most importantly eat calorie rich foods more like avocado, nuts, peanut butter or other nut butters, olive oil/coconut oil, dried fruit/trail mix, whole eggs and full fat dairy products. No diet foods!

But we can't see his intake so don't say it's fine. He might be starving himself for all we know.

I can I am one of his friends and can read his diary, don't jump to ridiculous conclusions that I would say his intake seems fine
If I couldn't even see it!!!!!!!

How much are you currently eating gross? What are your macros coming out at, in grams?

If you open your diary it will be easier to make suggestions.

If your fats are low it can have a negative hormonal response. I do not know what they are at but if you are eating low calories with a lot of diet foods, they will probably be too low in fats for healthy body functions and hormonal balance.

She used "we". "we" don't know that he's "your" friend and "you" can see his intake. The poster wasn't attacking you. Calm down and stop taking things so personally.

Or if you are going to take things personally, be normal and take it out on strangers in real life. Like a store clerk or better choice, a postal office worker. I hear they never say anything back...

Even if you are not hungry but you know that you are not eating enough - do not snack on rubbish. Go for something healthy and wholesome and home cooked. the flavours and aromas will stimulate the correct parts of your brain via your sensory receptors. You need to make your body want healthy food rather than just being hungry. being hungry can sometimes lead to wanting too many carbs.

She told me not to say his intake seems fine, its always over 2,000 cals and nearer 2,500 as he is trying to increase appetite and bulk,.
I was just starting to look at his problem and try to see how his new plan was unfolding, what the effect was currently on his weight.

I am not the one with the problem, she also told me I had not helped my friend on here and that was why he was on the public forum asking for help!

Lady you're 50, start acting it. Instead of the teenage drama queen you're acting like.

OP, stop with the diet foods especialky sonce youve got 2k+ to work with. Eat real, whole foods with the occassional pop tart ice cream sandwich. Instead of steaming veggies, saute or roast with olive or coconut oil. Full fat yogurts, cheeses, milk (if you drink it). Avocadoes, bananas, nut butters, nuts all pretty calorie dense without too much bulk.

Also why is your fat goal so low compared to carbs and protein?

I did know because I checked her friends list when she said she thought his food intake was fine. I took it the same way she did. She got lectured to not give him advice and was clearly included in the WE.

I do think OP is in great hands with Sara.
