Even though I am losing weight, I base my diet on high calorie, nutrient dense foods. My diary is open.
High fat does not cause acid reflux. In fact, a high fat, grain free, low sugar diet will get rid of acid reflux for good. The only time I still get reflux is when I have popcorn; it's the popcorn that causes it, but yes I taste the butter. I had acid reflux so bad that I was considered a high cancer risk, so I do have some experience to speak from.
MFP fat default is way too low. For everyone.
How do you plan to have HEALTHY high calorie foods but avoid fat? :noway:0 -

I had bad reflux on high sugar as well. I eat 65% of my calories from fat and no reflux to speak of....0 -
Ok the thing with all this is that it's high in fat. I don't want to get over my fat macro because I have a history of reflux.
Dried fruit is very low in fat and you would be amazed at how it adds up if you're sitting there snacking on it. Even the no sugar added varieties.
I love the organic Turkish apricots, Blenheim apricots, and white peaches (all dried) at Trader Joe's.
Also, pasta.
This is a good idea. If dried fruit gives you gas, try looking for unsulphured varieties since that (sulphur) tends to be the culprit.0 -
Quest bars. So tasty, and a nice balance of macros.0

I love plain Balkan yogurt or plain greek yogurt with a few tablespoons of ground flax seed and hemp hearts and a tablespoon or two of maple syrup. This will be a few hundred calories but is all natural, real food, with lots of fibre, healthy fats and protein.0
