I know this a thread about the celebration of pop tarts.
But while I do appreciate the hard work that goes into making the poptarts, admiring the poptarts, and eventually eating the poptarts their just not for me.
I know no one was asking my opinion but I just wanted to butt on in here and say I think poptarts taste like cardboard with frosting on them.
I'm with you. I used to love them as a kid, but not anymore

Try making them from scratch? Maybe they wouldn't give you as many problems without all of the preservatives. http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2012/05/30/recipe-whole-wheat-toaster-pastries-a-k-a-pop-tarts/0

I used to love them as a kid, and still love them now. Especially when the edges are a little burnt. And that frosting turns like candy. And the inside fudge is gooey and hot. And the "cardboard" tastes like chocolate cardboard. And I eat the edges last like little crispy candy coated cardboard chocolate. Yum.0 -

Pop tarts are evil for me. I have been a long time pop tart addict. I don't buy them often because they give me heart burn and make me feel kinda bad, but I may just have to try these.

Darn. I was hoping you were going to say that they are making them calorie free.0

I must find these. I will admit I plan on enjoying these the way I currently enjoy my beloved chocolate chip poptarts ... with a small scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.0

Thought I was the only one who didn't like them lol. I also don't like peanut butter (or peanuts). But, I'll have to be on the look out for these, for my husband who loves both0 -
I've never had a pop tart...blasphemy!0

LOL that's funny, cause yeah... it stopped just short of "your chocolate is in my peanut butter"0 -
Anyway in the meantime I guess we could try making them ourselves?

ETA: actually this recipe looks way easier.
(aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand BTW OP I just noticed your username...doc to be huh? Wanna meet my sweet and wild niece who only has two children to show for her wild days? She's really pretty and so she can't be blamed for whatever might have happened in her uterus before she had the chance to marry. Green eyes, pretty lips, smart mouth. She's a handful. But then again she's a handful....ifyouknahmean. )0 -
I'm not a big pop tart eater, but I could go for those peanut butter ones! MMMMMMM0

I am new to the fitness world... I have seen pop tarts as part of peoples diets before. Can I have these?0

I love Pop Tarts, but I have to be really careful not to overdo it. One of these PB Pop Tarts by itself has 34 grams of carbohydrates and 250 mg of sodium. Although that may not seem important to some, I have Type 2 Diabetes AND high blood pressure. Therefore, I'd only get this as a last resort if there's nothing available.
However, I could use it for Dragon*Con, since the hotel room I'll be using doesn't have a microwave or a fridge. I know they'd be better gooey warm, but they don't spoil if they're not refrigerated.0 -
