Im using ripped in 30 5-6 days a week so that 2.5-3hrs then Im trying to to add in Jillians Banish Fat Boost Metabolism workout thats 50mins total. So each week anywhere from 3-5 hours but once I finish RI30 il go to just using BFBM 4 days a week, or a combo of that workout and a 5 mile walk over 4-5 days. I have a 2 yr old and a 6 month old so its hard to fit it all in sometimes

I fit it in when I can. I have on;y been doing this program a few weeks. I use my wii for a lot like just dance 1 and 2, sports, fit plus etc. Fish a lot. I do activities that I enjoy and don't consider it working out. i also push mow and hour and a half one to two times a week. I am losing about 1 pound a week. I am starting slow and will increase as time goes on.

5-6 days a week, 1-3 hours of cardio and exercise focused on abdominal, shoulders and arms.
Not 3 hours straight, though. maybe half in the morning and half at night.

I work out between 1 to 2.5 hrs, especially when it comes to cardio. I run a lot just to escape and I do a lot of Zumba (when I do) trying to not slip with lifting and doing P90x, the next time I try to. haha. Sometimes I will work out 2x a day to maintain stress or if I have extra time, just to fit in another workout! :) Was inspired by the post! :)

90 minutes, give or take. I'm sidelined this week with a foot injury so can't do my daily five miles and even some of my yoga poses have been off limits. :(

On Sunday I typically do between 10 and 13.1 miles plus 30 minutes of yoga, so 2.5-3 hours.
  • Monday and Wednesday-60 minutes Zumba,30 minutes elliptical
Tuesday and Thursday - 50 minutes strength training, 40 minutes Zumba
Friday - rest day (walking for 30 minutes usually)
Saturday and Sunday - 60 minutes Zumba, 30-60 minutes walking

I like to work out :)
  • Ideally, I'd like to 30 minutes to 60 minutes of "something" 5 to six days a week. I'd probably mix walking, hooping, and some resistance training in this ideal world.

But I don't live in an ideal world.

I live in reality and in reality, I have a demanding job that is requiring me to be tied to a computer for 12 to 16 hours a day six days a week. I have an hour of commuting time every weekday. I also require a certain amount of sleep and I need to eat, clean, and otherwise live my life. I'm lucky to get 30 minutes in 3 days a week right now with 5 to 10 minutes of hooping during the other days. And I'm happy to get that. This will not be my life forever. This project will be done soon and I can go back to my regularly scheduled 30-60 minutes of "something," but for now, I have to live this way.

    I'm a spaz...so don't use me as a 'normal' example. I workout for a minimum of 120 minutes/2 hours a day. I LOVE working out. I think I might need psychological help....:ohwell:

Oh and I do a morning and an evening workout...splitting it up works well for me. I include a combination of running, other cardio, and lifting. LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTTT

It depends but it's normally around 30-60 minutes of just cardio and then 30 minutes strength training too. Occasionally i'll also add a 1 hour Pilates session :)

I exercise a minimum of an hour a day, 6 days a week. I don't exercise to lose weight though, I exercise to get fit, look good nekkid, have a healthy heart and keep my blood glucose and cholesterol in check. Exercise also makes me feel good mentally. I limit my calories to lose weight.

anywhere from 45 - 90 minutes .... depends on the workout.

pretty soon it will be 120 min a day. 60 in the am - 60 in the pm ...
  • I try to get in at least 30-60 min of cardio a day & then I may squeeze in some strength training maybe 3-4 days a week if my schedule allows for it! I have 3 kiddos so my schedule is worked around theirs. :) I would love to do more, but right now, I just can't fit it in! I do use my kiddos for exercise minions as well whether it's climbing the equipment at the playground, bench pressing the toddler, or playing soccer, basketball, or riding bikes.

I workout out anywhere from 45 minutes to sometimes 3 hours, group fitness classes at my gym. Haven't seen huge results on the scale but honestly my eating is all over the charts. I do it cause it feels good and when I do those 3 hours its something that clicks in my head borderline insanity ....GOOD LUCK!!!!

I spend 20 to 30 minutes warming up and cooling down every day (includes dynamic and static stretching and joint mobility work, as well as foam rolling). On lifting days (MWF), my actual workouts take 45 to 50 minutes, which includes 5 to 10 minutes of high-intensity interval training for cardio. I do HIIT for 20 to 30 minutes on one of my non-lifting days, and I rest the other three days.

I get in at least 10,000 steps per day (the best motivation I've found to get up and moving is my Fitbit). 10,000 steps might sound unattainable to some people -- but I work a regular 40-hour-week desk job, so if I can do it then everyone can. I do little things like walk to the downstairs bathroom instead of using the bathroom on my floor, and taking ten-minute walking breaks around the parking lot.

I also run two + miles four - five times a week and do strength training two - three times a week.

Now I'm just maintaining, but when I started this a few months ago, I was at 130 and wanted to lose 5 pounds. I did this in conjunction with a 1,200 calorie diet. Now that I'm at my goal weight of 125, I do this and make sure that I take in 1,200 calories PLUS however many calories I lost by exercising.

I haven't done more than 45min in the gym. If I go for a hike or bike ride on the weekend then it is longer but those days are not on a regular basis. I look at it like this, yes I'm changing my life and adding activity to it but I'm also looking ahead. I may be working out now to lose weight but what do I want to be doing in a couple years? I'm not going to go overboard with hours of workouts now knowing I won't sustain that for the rest of my life. I've incorporated activity into my life on a sustainable level.

I'm curious how much you all are working out in a day average. I'm a newbie and I'm curious to see how you all are losing your weight by your daily exercise. :)

Diet for weight control (lose/maintain/gain); exercise for fitness. Unless you're an athlete and/or training for a specific sporting event it is completely unnecessary to spend endless hours working out.

My advice would be to set fitness goals that are completely independent of your weight loss goals and calorie burn. When you have independent fitness goals, it opens up a whole new world of fitness and you'll be much happier and more fit in the long run.

I do "exercise" 3 times a week. Spend 5-10 minutes with a warmup jog on the treadmill, then do my lifting, which takes about an hour or so.

The other days of the week I have no planned "exercise" but I'm often active. I tend to play tennis 1-5 times a week, go mountain biking, caving, hiking, etc.

So I tend to be engaged in vigorous activity around 10-20 hours per week.

i walk about 2 miles at lunch (i only have 30 minutes and usually eat before at my desk) and maybe another mile at my afternoon break, then usually about 3 miles or so on the arc trainer (mountain climb is my favorite program) and really get the sweat going about 4 times a week, and i've started swimming for about 20-25 minutes a couple of times a week. a quick strength workout (legs 2x week. arms, back, chest 2x week) and on the weekend i'll try to get a workout done but usually i'll just wii zumba at home.

so i guess in a day it all adds up to egad... about 2 hours? i didn't even realize it until i typed that out....

Mon - brisk walk 70min and 1h badminton
Tue - brisk walk 70min and 30 min resistance with personal trainer
Wed - brisk walk 70min and 1h zumba
Thu - brisk walk 70min and 1h zumba
Fri - brisk walk 70min and 30 Jillian
Sat- run 5k and 1h badminton
    Sun - 1h zumba and 1 h badminton

Sometimes I will hit the gym for some lifting, usually when it rains and I don't feel like walking to work and back. Love zumba and badminton, don't even count that as a workout.
  • I am pretty new, too, but on a mission. I am trying to work out for 60-ish minutes every day, when possible. I like to hit my community fitness center and do treadmill (using incline programs) and then stationary bike, with a little weights tossed in here and there. I am down 6.4 pounds so far in less than a month. I do eat my workout calories to make sure my body keeps burning. So far the big challenge when I work out hard is eating my workout calories to stay in my net calorie range, but I am determined.
