Just looking to get some opinoins in general, its not just that I have read it on here but a lot of the time when i've come across bikini-diets for summer recently and that sort of thing everyone says to cut back cheese/cut it out...now I don't eat it everyday but i do eat it occasionally in a sandwich or on crackers, i've probably cut it down to 2 days a week now, 1 sometimes i'm just wondering why it has such a bad rep, is it the high fat amount?

People assume high fat is the devils creation, people are wrong0

I think part of the problem is that many kinds of cheese go hand in hand with junk foods.
If you pick the right cheeses and pair them with healthier foods you should be fine.0 -
What a friend we have in cheeses,
Gorgonzola, blue, and brie,
What a privilege to serve them
Sliced with fruit, for you and me.
Oh Canadian Black Diamond!
Who could ever ask for more?
Smoky, earthy, full of flavor,
Aged since 1994.0 -
just eat it in moderation like everything else
grapes and cheese as a snack.. YUMMMMMM0 -
Cheese is a gift from above. It is calorie dense but not bad for you.0

I have MOSTLY cut out cheese just because it is calorie dense and I am currently on a cut. I will prolly start eating more when I switch to a bulking diet. Love me some sharp cheddar with an apple.0

Thank you so much for sharing this inspirational hymn! I'm going to go about memorizing it now... CHEEEEEEEEESE!0 -
1 ounce of full fat cheese daily greatly reduces diabetes risk. In small amounts it is good, bingeing on cheese or having cheese oneverything not so much0

Cheese is great and healthy in moderation, like just about anything else. Problem is that it is addicting and calorie dense,if you don't measure it can get ugly.0

It is pretty calorie dense. 1 oz of full fat cheese is like 100 calories. I love sharp cheddar cheese and monterey jack with peppers. I can eat a lot of cheese so I try not to have it around.0 -
The type of fat, and sodium. Look at the difference between Munster cheese and goat cheese; that should give you a clue.0
-
I love cheese and I will include it as part of a healthy diet in moderation. I think people over do it with cheese and it gets a bad wrap.0
-
Whenever people say that cheese isn't worth the calories, all I can think is "Wait what? Have you ever even HAD cheese?!"0
-
I love cheddar cheese, and eat it when I want it, but no one is going to get me to believe it is healthy. It is almost pure saturated fat and those fats are not healthy. But it is soooo tasty!0
-
Lactose intolerance won't stop me from eating cheese. It's too tasty.0
-
I would never cut cheese out of my diet...love it too much...again..everything in moderation. I have low fat string cheese with an apple for a snack. it's a good combo.0

Misinformation mostly. Obviously theses same people never had the opportunity to eat Moliterno black truffle pecorino.....and rightly so, those smug *kitten*.

Its calorie dense
Cheese for the most part also makes me vomit. I cant stand the taste or smell of almost all cheeses. I can only stomach american cheese and pizza lol. I can't have mozzerella any other way and I certainly can not eat it fresh. Thats why cheese has a bad name for me0 -

Thank you...and can I get a AMEN!?!?0 -
The sodium in a lot of cheeses is high. I love cheese, and it's often been my go-to snack, but I have to cut back. I don't really care about the fat or the calories because I count the calories like everything else, and my fats are usually not too bad, but the sodium is what kills me (I have high blood pressure.)0

If I was stranded on a desert island and had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life, it'd be cheese, hands down. So, I try for moderation but I don't even care if it's unhealthy. A life without cheese isn't life.0

I use a little feta on my salads instead of dressing...it's all about moderation0
-
I like extra sharp cheddar because I can eat it despite lactose intolerance I don't think those "bikini ready in 21 days!!!" articles are exactly rife with solid nutritional advice so unless you're eating like a freaking block of cheese at a time you're probably fine0
-
I have a little feta cheese on my salads atleast every other day and atleast another ounce some some fruit (pears, grapes, apples are great pairings). Like everyone has said, everything in moderation. It is not bad for you just don't overdo it!0
-
I eat cheese with most meals and often snack on it as well, as long as it fits into my calories and macros...and it hasnt stopped me from losing weight (but must admit a LOT of people comment on it in my diary lol)0

^^yep0 -
Cheese is my friend:) it fills me up and boosts my protein and add it to a white sauce over veggies.... Yum!!!!!
I eat it as long as it fits.0 -
Love, love, love cheese especially sharp/pungent types. It's easier to get by with a smaller amount of a strongly flavoured blue or old cheddar than the more bland types.0

I love cheese too. I recently started buying Bega Stringers again. I haven't had them since I was a kid! Only 59calories or so per stringer plus it keeps me busy while I eat it. However I have to prevent myself from buying Blue Vein or my self-control flies merrily out the window and I will happily eat the entire block.
I think the trick with cheese is small servings. Handily, a lot of cheeses come in small packets if you have trouble limiting yourself and it makes a wonderful snack. Free the Cheese!0 -
Mmmm.....parmesan.... one of my goals in life is to go to Italy and buy a wheel of parmigiano reggiano....loves me some parmesan!!!!0
