Welcome to the BATTLE OF THE BULGE: SUMMER SOLSTICE CHALLENGE

I have hosted a few battle of the bulge challenges in the past, this one will be a 1 month challenge to get us fit for the summer solstice (June 21st). For 5 weeks we will be doing the 30 day squat challenge and 30 day ab challenge.

IF YOU WANT TO JOIN

(1) Friend me AND MESSAGE ME your measurements (bust/chest, waist, hips, thigh, arm) - I will add you to the spreadsheet.
(2) Print the calendar below and post somewhere (fridge, a wall, at work, etc.)
(3) Each day I will start a new post in our chat with motivational challenges to drink water, work out, etc.
(4) I will maintain a spreadsheet of progress and post weekly weight loss winners
(5) Everyone should post daily:

NSV: (name a non scale victory you had for the day)
SQUATS COMPLETED: (yes or no)
CRUNCHES COMPLETED: (yes or no)
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: (list any other workouts you did for the day)

    DAY 1 of 33

    Today is the first day. Since we have 33 days and the challenges are 30 days long you have some flexibility to deviate a bit from the challenge (extra rest day, etc.). Make sure you print the calendar to help keep you on track.

    TODAY:
    20 crunches
    50 squats
    Fill your cup challenge: Drink at least 8 cups of water

    Not sure if I will be, but you can do this during finals! Just drink water and do any form of physical activity each day - it will help you with studying :happy:

    Hey everybody, we're getting a good number together. Not as packed as my past challenges but I think that's good because we can all keep each other accountable.

    day 1: Monday May 20
    20 Crunches: Yes

    Water: 8 cups cucumber, lemon n mint water...tryin to get a few more cups in!
    NSV: a random guy said I look good today n I feel like a fat heifer lol
    Extra exercise: Walked/jogged 1.5 miles, 20 sit ups

    Extra exercise/NSV: Started C25K today, Wk 1 Day 1 done!!

    I have had my fitbit for a week now and I love it :) It has motivated me to move so much more than before, it has given me motivation to try C25K again (for like the 5th time - but I will get there!!!)

    Fill your cup challenge :drinker: Again, drink at least 8 cups...we'll move it up once everyone can get 8 cups down! This is the bare minimum folks!

    TUESDAY TIP
    Did you know the color red and other bright colors like yellow trigger a hungrer response and can cause you to over eat. :noway: Why do you think so many restaurants and fast food places use red?! :huh: It's all part of their marketing ploy. Dark colors like blue suppress your appetite. Try eating on a blue plate vs. a red plate to eat less :wink:

    What is this water you guys drink? what does it do? Do you make it on your own?

    NSV = Didn't kill my husband when he decided it wasn't time to turn the AC on and I was sweltering. LOL

    Physical Activity Walking @ 3.0 mph for 45 minutes

    Raring to go come on day two. Been busy so far probing trucks - up and down the probe stand stairs 6 times so far and expecting at least one more truck today!

    Day 2: Tuesday May 21
    25 Crunches: Yes
    60 Squats: Yes (and I did 20 extra for good measure:bigsmile: )
    Water: 12
    NSV: my work slacks were so tight today I had to change em:ohwell: ...the NSV from this is its my motivation to keep going this time!:angry:
    Extra exercise: Walked/jogged 1.5 miles, 25 sit-ups, 25 leg lefts, 10 each kick backs

    NSV - Walked 9 holes of golf and didn't get short of breath like last year!!!
    Squats completed - Yes
    Crunches completed - Yes
    Physical Activity - Walked 9 holes of golf for 2.5 hours - up and down the probe stand stairs 10 times for 10 trucks!
