Heard about it in a documentary about obesity. It was free and userfriendly, so I joined and still loving it. I went on spaekpeople to "take a look", their website appears not userfriendly at all.

I didn't really like Sparkpeople. I couldn't tell you why; I just didn't. MFP just has a better community feel. Plus it's easier to use in my opinion.

Actually, I liked the groups on Spark better. However, by far I like the food tracker here better, and it was tedious to keep up with both, so I primarily use this, now. When I got on MFP 5 years ago, it didn't have all the social interaction like it does, now. No app, no groups, no friend feed, just the boards.

I originally started tracking on fitday, suggested by a friend, many years ago. Unfortunately, it only has generic food database entries, and I still remember to this day, I was searching for Kroger lowfat cottage cheese (since it's macros were slightly different than the generic entry), and voila - MFP came up. It's by far the easiest, most useful food tracker I've used (and I've tried them all, lol).

It was recommended to me by a couple work folks who know I needed something to help me track since I couldn't seem to get back to logging on paper like I was before. Logged on, gave it a try and fell in love instantly. Never even thought to check out other sites.

I just needed a calculator to count my calories and manage my macros. I didn't need meal planning and what not.

a friend of mine, who by the way is no longer on this site, sent me an "invite" and I've been HOOKED every since. I love the support system, I love the application/resources on the site, and it has been instrumental in the weight I hv lost thus far.

Hubby and I were thinking of joining Weight Watchers. I did a Google search to see what others thought of Weight Watchers and Weight Watchers Online. Some guy said that it worked, but MFP was better and free. So here I am.

My friend recommended it because she was using it. But she's not on the forums because she only uses the mobile app.

Was on SP for a while, but I find MFP to be much less cluttered and the mobile app is far more stable and useful. Plus the community seems to be much more active here.

Although... The recipe database is pretty nice over at SP

As long as you stick to it and do what you're supposed to either one will work just fine. So pick one and have at it.

I was on SP long, long ago. It was free, then paid, then back to free. The account I have now is my 2nd and its quite a few years old. I have always enjoyed the site and like the forums as well as the groups. Not to mention, so many wonderful people who share their experiences through blogs. I find it very welcoming.

I started using MFP because it was clean and simple. SP started to become too cluttered. I hate that. Makes me feel stuffy. I don't blogs here as easy to look through and not as many people use them. I also find the forums here to be full of more rude people who think they are all dietitians and nutritionists and know exactly what each and everyone of us need to do. People on SP are not like that.

So, I still use the site because I have a ton of friends there and use MFP for the food tracking.
