Do you hate random guys coming up to talk to you as much as I think you do?
I see this all the time and every woman looks absolutely miserable when it happens.

This is just my personal take. But nothing skeeves me out more.0

I don't know. It might be that she's just not attracted to you, she's focused on her work out, or that she may feel at a bit of a disadvantage (sweaty, breathing hard, messy hair, intense focus, etc.) Or she could be taken.
Edited to fix a typo.0 -
I wondered but that also brings up another question. If you are not working out in the "Ladies workout area" does that mean you do not mind guys talking to you?0

I hate it. I am there to work out, not to socialise. Maybe if I wasn't married and was actually looking... and he was hot but not up himself (haha too many of them at my gym!) then I wouldn't mind. But as it is, I much prefer to be left alone!0

I don't mind at all. I occasionally have a guy come up and introduce himself and talk to me a bit. I enjoy it, actually. :-)
I just go about my workout and if he wants to follow me around (it's happened) I just keep talking. No biggie.0 -

When I belonged to a gym, there was no "women's area". So I don't know if there is different equipment in each area or if some women just don't want to be around men when they work out.0 -

I would love to be invisible in the weight room... and there's no ladies area in my gym, but I would say if both areas house the same exact equipment, they could still just want to get away from noisy girly girls or a strong perfume etc.. there's no accurate way to blanket answer this : )0 -

I am myself at the gym and will smile chat, or talk with anyone who seems nice. I have occasionally asked some one to spot/help me and have had no prob.0

What is the "ladies area" ?!?!0

I wouldn't like if either men OR women approached me at the gym. I am there to work out, not chat. Thats why I don't like having a workout buddy LOL0

I don't mind at all. If he can stand talking to you hot and sweaty then why not. He may have some helpful tips to improve your workout. You may have a partner to do different workouts with.0

I agree. It seems to me guys are more chatty than the girls. I go in and get my workout done and leave.0 -

Some of the gyms I have been to have a ladies only room.0 -
When I'm lifting I'd like to be left alone. I don't mind random chatting in between sets or during cardio (Are you using this? Kind of Qs). I'm at the gym to work out and have a limited amount of time when doing so. If they're really interested, then they should ask for a phone number. Gym time = My time.

I'm married, so it's a little different, but if I was single this is how I would feel.....
Correct my form-you're an *kitten*
Comment on how to do something different/become my personal trainer-your an *kitten*.
Make a genuine comment about my workout-"hey, awesome job"...something simple- we're good.
Ask questions about what I do/what I eat-fine as a part of my regiment-that's all good too.
Of Course this is MY opinion, and feel free to disagree with me. This would be what would be going thru MY head, and what I would think.
So no flaming my opinions! :drinker:0 -

"Ladies workout area"..... my gym doesn't divide the sexes except the change/shower room... even the bathroom isn't gender specific.0 -
I don't particularly love when guys come up and start chatting, but it's not a completely miserable experience. I just always keep lifting/doing cardio, and if they want to talk while I'm doing that...it's fine. It's when they're expecting to flirt or 'get to know each other' that I get a bit annoyed. Either ask for my number, or let me finish my workout. I don't feel especially flirty with no makeup and workout clothes lol0

Lets just say I keep my earphones in even when the radio isn't turned on.0
