Love the thread. Here are some that have stuck with me over the years:
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
- Aristotle
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.
- Goethe
The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.
Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.
Mahatma Gandhi
I love all of these. The one by Aristotle has always been my favorite.0 -
bump...for later. and one of mine is :
Believe that you can.

When I'm running, especially in this Texas heat with the sun overhead, I look at my shadow and continually envision is smaller and more slender.
2 quotes I have printed out on my desk at work and at home:
"Do it for:
- the stares
- the whispers
- that bikini
- the collarbone
- the hipbone
- the gap between your thighs
- the belly shirts
- the melted sweaters
- the light-as-a-feather feeling
- the cute pictures
- the sexy lingerie
- and most importantly...YOURSELF."
Like most others have posted, the following quote helps too:
"When you feel like quitting, think about why you started"0 -

The sooner you start your workout, the sooner you'll be done.
This isn't really a quote but it's my motivation right now, those without kids may not relate -
If I can have it in me to stay up all night and day, and get up and pace/rock/bounce my crying newborn baby for HOURS every day, I can carve out 20 minutes to work out now that she's older. I can do this for ME, I can do this for HER, what matters is that I do it.0 -

"I used to run with DOUBT,
now she can't keep up.
"It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard everyone would do it.

and the one i have on my refrigerator:
WINNERS are never WHINERS
If you want it bad, SHUT UP and TRAIN
If not stay the way you are. But even then, you can't complain
Because you weren't STRONG enough
to fight for that better YOU. The you that WOULD have, and COULD have been.
Make your choice now...because YESTERDAY you said TOMORROW.0 -

I can really realte tothis, I've hit a bit of a plateau lately and 16/17lbs to go seems daunting and easy to get demorialised but when I think of how far I've come in losing 22lbs feel really prous of myself0 -

This is on my notice board at work, for when people see me being me and accuse me of being obsessed.
"Obsessed is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated"0 -
Not had a chance to go through all 11 pages but here are my favourites:
The last is the ultimate real world test of leanness. I used to hate it when I bent over to put on my socks if I wasn't wearing a t-shirt and see rolls of fat. Which is why I do it in the dark. :laugh:0 -
