I was asked to get off of a ride because of my weight at Knoebel's. I was also mistaken for a pregnant woman-twice.0

I had a man use me as a landmark once. told the people he was with, 'No, we parked over there, by that fat girl.' he wasn't even talking to me. it was very matter of fact.0

Last year several people at work wanted to know when I was due. That was last year before I lost 74 pounds. When ever I see them now I think to myself "Who is due now?". :bigsmile:0

My husband earned a huge trip to Hawaii based on his sales at work and one of the activities they had planned for the group was a helicopter ride. To sign up, you had to list your name and WEIGHT and it was on a form that everyone could see everyone else's information. I weighed 325lbs at the time and there was NO WAY I was going to sign that form, but I really wanted to go. My husband went and said it was awesome.0

Mine was when I was getting fitted for a bridesmaid's dress for my brother's wedding, and was told that I had to pay more for "plus size". The lady was all *****y and snarky about it too...said it in front of about ten people. I wanted to either strangle her, or crawl under the table....
haha rude people engender rude responses from me. i would have asked her how much more i had to pay for decent service.0 -
I got the pregnancy comment but after I had already changed my lifestyle, I think I was down 40 lbs when a woman in our cafeteria (mind you she's probably bigger than I ever was) asked when I had my baby.0

My less-than-tactful 8 year old nephew asked me if I was pregnant. When I very quietly said no, he announced to the room, in his not-quiet voice, "Well, you sure LOOK like you could be pregnant!" Oh my. Kids...gotta love 'em! lol.0

I have way too many. I have never gotten the pregnant one though. I was actually kind of angry at myself when I was ACTUALLY pregnant, and I didnt have a belly the entire time (though I had my son at 7 months).
Looking back at all of my old pictures and seeing myself smiling, but I knew I was miserable. I hate pictures, and still do.0 -

I was at Schlitterbahn with my young nieces. We decided to go down a slide that ended in a shallow pool below. Once I got to the bottom I had trouble getting up (due to my weight) and slipped. I struggled for a good 1-2 minutes trying to get up. I knew I was holding up the ride and panicked a bit. Off to the side of the slide there were some teenage boys snickering at me and I could hear one of them say "Geez, get up fatty". My niece heard them and told me what they said too. I could care less that I was called a fatty (I know I'm fat), what hurt the most was that my niece was there to witness it. I pretended like it didn't bother me, but it really did.
A few months later my niece sent me a text about how she saw a weight loss program on tv and how she thinks that it would help me. She's such a sweet girl and just wants to help me.
This is one of my biggest motivations to get healthy. My nieces and nephew.0 -
I was wearing a pair of pants that have recently become to big on me done up by a belt, well i wanted to show my grams how much weight i lost and how big they where becoming so i un-did the belt and proudly showed my grams how big they were on me ... her response "yaya dont throw them out u might need them again". UHG shes so graceful! some encouragement would of been nice.0

I really don't embarrass easily these days, having had to be pulled to my feet from the floor of a shower, naked, by a male orderly and an ex-boyfriend while in hospital pretty much cured me of it. My inability to get up wasn't due entirely to my weight, but also to a prolonged hospital stay.
But climbing that darned hill, red faced, panting, sweating, three steps at a time, as others steadily walked past me, that mortified me. It was also why I refused to stop, and why that hill remains a goal for me. I will climb it again, maybe not with ease, but easier.
What probably should have embarrassed me was having a surgeon presume I was bed ridden due to my size, when I was instead in the ER for a bike accident where I'd shattered my arm. That just pissed me off.0 -
I substitute teach, and kids always ask me if I'm married, have kids, etc. Last year this one class asked me if i had kids and I said oh yes I have 3 children, my youngest is 14. Dead silence. I said, What? They said Oh we didn't realize you had kids our age, you look like you just had a baby. :noway:
Going to a party with my husband and having several obese women asking me how on earth did I snag him. My husband is 6'2, very fit and attractive, you would not think at all that he would have a fat wife. I was obese at the time. I just said Oh we met when I was slender and cute. I felt terrible though. I can't wait for the day when people wonder how on earth he snagged ME.0 -
My most embarrassing fat moment was the day I made a comment to my husband about him leaving me because i had gotten so fat. Of course he loves me just the way I am and always has, but he let it slip that years ago right before we got married, when i was much smaller, my dad had sat him down and explained to him that all the women in my family were fat, really fat, and that we only got fatter, and that it had better be something he was willing to deal with. It broke my heart that my dad would say something like that.0

We had a large family gathering at my daughter's house. She was asking us all to try her new Wii Fit. When I got on it weighed me, than announced in that voice "That's obese!" and this heavy tuba music played.0

Let's see, when the midwife told me (in the middle of active labour) that i should lose some weight. She must have really felt I needed to know that, otherwise why would she risk her job and yes HER LIFE by telling a woman in back labour that she needed to lose weight? The mind boggles.0

The day I was looking for a dress to a party, and I was on a really expensive store, and I grab a dress so I can look at it, and see if it's pretty enough. This girl comes to me and says "No way in hell you'll fit on this!"... Yeah.. I walked right out of the store.:grumble:0

went to Cancun for our honeymoon, went to the place with ziplines (forgot what its called, XCITE, i think) We were told to each go stand in a single line, she went through the line and told me to go stand over there in another section. I was feeling pretty good thinking this must be a "smaller" harness, until 4 huge guys came and stood next to be. I didnt understand.. I asked the girl who was putting my harness on why they had put me into a big harness, and she tightened it as far as it could go, which was still WAY TO BIG. I was not nearly as big at these guys, i was only 145lbs and these guys were like 200!! they ended up putting me into a regular size harness but I was completely mortified. I cried to my husband, wanted to leave. And there I was walking around in a bikini and obviously looked huge0

I had a LOT growing up, kids can be cruel...as an adult you don't expect it.
I was RUNNING in my town and two men and a boy were standing on the sidewalk, waiting for the school bus, I believe. I had headphones on, but they were turned down low and as I ran by, one of them snickered and said "jiggle jiggle jiggle" and the other guy just laughed. I was mortified that grown men would act like that...AND...I was the one running while they stood there in their white trash redneck sweatpants/pjs smoking! I actually had forgotten how painful it was, brought me right back to childhood and I was angry for quite a while.0 -
That was some session Namaste, ahem lol!
I have broke a few chairs in my time, one of which was at school in front of the whole class!! You can imagine how much I was laughed at! I have had to make excuses to not seat in seats I know I won't fit in or that are likely to break. Ugh! Having to tell my friend to buy 2 seats for me when she was buying us train tickets also
I work in textiles, and my colleague was supporting me to learn to make a shirt, for myself. I called one of the stockists to enquire about fabric, and I mentioned it was for 'a shirt'. They suggested that I was mistaken because one shirt wouldn't need that much! I was just like 'Um no, that is right'
Mostly just the usual laughs/looks/comments etc. I have had vry many embarrassing fat moments!!

when my fiance was helping me get ready for his cousin's wedding and he couldn't zip my dress up all the way...

My entire childhood was one big embarrassing fat moment.0

Friends saying we should all go eat! Someone new in the group points at me and says we know his answer!0

Um, let's see....
Getting told by several people (including my mom) that I should be a plus sized model and clearly expecting a thank you because it was meant as a compliment.
Being told by a 4 year old I babysat often during swimming that I have "fat legs".
Having 7 sisters that don't look like me. Not even slightly.
Family constantly doubting me and asking if I'm still "going to the gym and all that".
When I decided to elope instead of planning a big wedding partially due to not wanting fat wedding pictures.
Avoiding trips back home (my family lives on the water) so I won't have to be gawked at in my bathing suit.0 -
My grandfather told me that I should of worn a belt with the dress I was wearing, but that you need to have a waist to wear a belt so it wouldn't work for me anyway.
This was said in front of my entire family at a Mother's Day get-together at my aunt's house.
I burst into tears & ran out of the house while my both my mom & dad got in my grandfather's for saying such a thing.0 -
Ahh, I hate those cheap plastic chairs!!! Besides getting stuck in them (more than once), I once had one just collapse with me in it because the plastic broke. I was quite a bit lighter then than I am now, even.0
-
Breaking the lawn chair (brand new and all) and my five year old lifting up on my belly and saying "Mommy you're so floppy!"
Yup those were not my best days!0
