Hi Ivy, glad you are still trying to get after it!!
thinktank, are you back and getting settled?

My 5/7 was an early morning 2 mile run with a .5 walk. Just could not get into it at 5:30 a.m. and then i was on my feet a great share of the day working the yearly side walk sale for the local sporting goods store! 94* and cement are harder on your body than a good workout!
I MIGHT take a rest day today cuz I head back to the side walk sale!!!

Good job ladies! I took a rest day due to my last rest was 2 weeks ago and I was on my feet ALL day at the side walk sale that ended up inside due to RAIN. It was STEADY to quite busy ALL day. I ate a small bag of cheetos for lunch due to how crazy it was but we stopped at the local watering hole and had chicken strips, fries & a couple of beers after work. I may get to sleep in past 6 a.m. tomorrow!!! My b-day is 3/31 and I will be 54     , gosh I am the granny of our group!!!
    Nite girls!!!

Happy Saturday everyone! I'm 4/7 today with a workout this morning with a running group that I joined. Today was just the first workout, and we basically walked alot and then ran 1 mile to get our time so that we can be divided into training groups. With all the walking and the 1 mile run I burned 325 calories, so not terrible.

Time to get kiddos down for a nap so better run. Hope you're all having a great day!

1/7 today with a 2 mile run with wu/cd walking plus 20 minutes of yoga. I went and got fitted for some running shoes and inserts, and they weren't cheap but hopefully they'll correct my overpronation that the running dude thinks is contributing to my SI joint pain. We'll see!!!

Verda, the group I joined is more of a training group rather than a real running group. They divide us up based upon our pace, and the goal is to train for a 5k 10/13/12. I figured that it would be helpful to actually train with a running coach to make sure I'm doing things right. I'm so tired of being injured that I want to do everything I can to make prevent any more injuries!!! I also prefer running alone, so I'm hoping that if I wear headphones no one will try to talk to me while we run. :)

Debra, I don't think I'm in on the visor inside joke--I've seen it referred to a few times on our thread--but regardless I think it looks cute! I much prefer wearing a visor over a baseball cap, but if I'm going to be out in the sun I wear a huge sun hat most of the time since I'm so pasty.

And Verda--I agree with Debra--when I have grandkids I want to be in as good shape as you! It is so funny how the timing of kids is so variable between people. Debra, I'm only 10 years younger than you and just at the beginning of child rearing!

Better run. Hope you've all had a great weekend!!!!

Heather, I hope your shoes are going to help the SI. I had to laugh about you putting on headphones to tune out the talkers!
The visor she is wearing says My Fitness Pal Lives In MONTANA & I sent it to her!!! I thank you for the compliment too!!

Ivy I am so glad to see you are still plugging away at it!!! Good girl!!!

Way to get after it Debra! My GS starts kindergarten on the 20th. He REALLY wanted to come to the school where I am but his mommy thinks that where my school is would be an inconvenience. Keenan said I even asked her nice but maybe if we ask her together! I thought oh how sweet but said we needed to understand where mommy is coming from with her work schedule (7 a.m till 8 p.m. on most shifts) and maybe next year. I was really wanting him to come there too!

    My 1/7 was a 4 mile run, JMBR workout & a 4 mile walk!

Well done, ladies! I'm 2/7 today with an early morning run on the treadmill. Blake is FINALLY getting the hang of this sleeping stuff. He woke up and hubby fed him at 11pm, then he slept until 4:45!! I got him and fed him and he actually went back to sleep, so I took advantage of the time and hopped on the treadmill. Hopefully he'll keep with this schedule because it gives me the perfect amount of time to get a 30-40 minutes workout in before work.

Hope you guys are having a great week!! :)

hey... here to report I am 3/7 for the week! Monday I did my weight training with Chalene and then also went on a 2 mile walk. I used the new phone and a "mapmywalk" app and it was pretty neat how it told me how fast I was walking , and showed updated gps.... the only thing I hate about it... is I can't acess groups from the phone... that was one of the main reasons I anted a new phone..to keep track better with you ladies. Yesterday y body was so stiff and sore I veered off schedule and did my yogini workout and it seemed to help I feel better today. today is a scheduled rest day.. we will see.. I might add some laps... I really want to try to get 5 days of cardio in...

Hey Ivy.. great job with that walk yesteday.. that is a great speed!
Heather.. so happy to hear BLake is settling in a schedule.. Yippee!!!!!!
Verda.. great milage.. 8 miles total in one day! Fantastic!!!

I have a baby shower to attend this Saturday ..so I better get back to getting the gift finished! Sometimes I wish I would just purchase a gift and be done with it.. but I just can't... I am so behind though on all that I want to get accomplished.. I am secretly wishing for winter... haha

NO-NO-NO!!!! Do NOT say winter! I get SAD so badly in the winter that the doc even suggested using a tanning bed!

Glad to see everyone is having a fantastic fitness week! I am at 3/7 last night with a training run with my running group. I don't like how they divided the groups up, so I'm probably going to bail on my group and join a slightly faster one. The put everyone who runs a 10-15 minute mile in one group, and there is a big difference between someone running a 10 min mile pace and another person running a 15 min mile pace. We were supposed to run intervals, but another girl and I took off from our group and just ran the 2.5 miles since we didn't have a leader with us to time our intervals. Overall it was still fun, though I forgot my headphones so I had to talk to the other (very nice) lady the whole time!

No workout this morning, doubt I'll have time to get anything in tonight, maybe just some yoga. And for those of you following the SI joint saga, turns out its NOT my SIJ. Every time I have pain in the posterior hip I think its SIJ pain, but I had my colleague check me out and based upon his exam he's pretty certain that I have a radiculitis, which is basically just a nerve root irritation from a bulging disc. I'll have to do a few sessions of PT, but the good news is that my running is not hurting anything. He really thinks that my overall problem is ligamentous laxity--I'm one of those peopel who are referred to as "doubel jointed" but it really just means my collagen has a slightly different makeup and makes me injury prone. Oh goody! At least it's not just because I'm getting old! I am soooo lucky to have a sports med doc to see me whenever I want!

Have a great day--almost to the weekend!!!!

Heather, I LOL with the having to vist while jogging! (even if she is nice!) That is interesting what your sports dr told you, I sure hope you can get back to where you were before all this started!

I am 5/7 with a 2.5 mile walk with the furries this morning. It was a cool morning but after giving blood yesterday, doing my intense workout this week plus having my TOM I felt ILL. Sick to my stomach and EXTREMELY tired. I am calling that good for today and heading to our cabin till Sunday. We are finished harvesting our crop so now maybe my husband can relax a little!!!

I can usually ride 20 miles in 95 minutes. That is covering one mile in 4.75 minutes,so my husband figured I cruise 12.63 mile per hour. I am told that's pretty good! I ride a mountain bike which is slower than a the touring bike you see people riding out on the hiways!

Happy Saturday everyone! Way to get the workouts in this week ladies! I'm ending the week at 4/7 with a 3 mile run with my running group this morning. I think that I'm really going to enjoy this group, and it is certainly a different workout trying to carry on a conversation while running!

Better run, I'm in charge of the kiddos this afternoon and they want to play!
