Take my laptop to bed and watch Youtube videos until I feel asleep. Or put an audiobook on. Preferably one I already know.

I take Valerian Root. I'm out in less than 30 minutes.

I take melatonin. It's the only thing that helps me sleep when I have insomnia (*kitten* is out of the question, since I'm usually too pissed off about not being able to sleep). My husband usually will pop a couple of Benadryl when he can't sleep.

I go through Scottish dance routines in my head. Or do alphabetical lists - countries capitals, say.

I keep a bottle of melatonin on hand. I use it in a pinch for the odd night where sleep evades me. It's all natural and doesn't leave you feeling tired the next day but is effective in helping you nod off. It's also handy to help combat jet lag.

    Scotch!
  • I always have trouble sleeping (I've been on sleeping pills and all sort of different things). When I can't sleep, I never watch tv or do any other stimulating activity. I grab a book or just go lie on the couch.

Either have my husband talk to me or read a friend's research papers.

    Mostly, I rub the nub.

I race myself. Normally I win. It's rather tiring. Than I flop on the couch and put on something so insanely borning that I feel my IQ begin to ooze out of my ears. At wich point I suffer a minor stroke and pass out. Normally when I wake up I don't remember anything but some how I normally end up with a ticket stub in and a fist full of dollar bills stuffed into my shorts.
