I work in the cell phone industry replacing cell phones for just this reason. The first person that responded is correct the bag of rice typically helps but eventually it will dies again as the insde of the phone will rust out,0

I used it as a light to guide me to the bathroom cause I'm really afraid of the dark and very blind!
I do this too. Maybe I will turn on a light instead from now on...
The bag of rice trick has worked on my daughters phone when she left it outside in the rain.0 -
I've dropped many a phone in the toilet.
Which is a good reason to always keep the lid closed.0 -
I'm still trying to understand why people feel the need to bring their cell to the sh*tter....in the middle of the night...0
-
Wait.... did you fish it out AFTER you went to the bathroom???
:huh:0 -
Oh my gosh redmagpie, you've got the loveliest red hair0

Ok ok...
But like myself...I must get up 3-4 times a night...last thing on my mind is "maybe someone text/tweet/mfp'd/FB'd" me in the early AM.. If they did...eff em, I'm going back to bed =p0 -
This is the reason I exclusively use the bathroom sink.0

Oh dear... I'm going to try and be nice....
I hate the phrase FML. FYL when something major happens. Catastrophic, actual life fvckage. An iPhone in the toilet stinks (ha!) but certainly isnt on par with an actual FML status. How about a little perspective.... You HAD a toilet to use last night. You have, presumably, enough money to own one. You have Internet service to come stay connected and to post this rant. Be thankful for what you do have. And hope you sprung for apple care.0 -

I just read a pointless post that will change nothing on the internet..

If you have a CPR, Cell Phone Repair, store in your area, take it there. They've always done good work for me, and a lot cheaper than the Apple Store.0

Flashlights are a hell of a lot cheaper!!!0

So you post a pointless post about what you feel is a pointless post of the original post? Well played!!
To the OP: Being that it is on and you say that it syncs and assuming everything else work fine, there is a possibility that the charging circuit fried. You can try the rice trick, but my guess is that it will not do any good. If you are up for upgrade that would be the route to go if you don't have Apple Care. Good luck!!0 -
I'd highly recommend buying an OtterBox Defender. I can't tell you how many "replacement iPhones" have been avoided by that case... I dropped one in a puddle during a huge rainstorm at a Home Depot parking lot, and didn't find it for about half an hour. Only about two drops of water made it to the phone, as far as I could tell (this was on the 3GS version, not sure if the iPhone 4 case would perform as well in a "submerged" scenario), and the phone still worked fine. I've also dropped the phone (3GS and 4) onto concrete or other hard surfaces. Many times. Including from a second floor balcony. My mother-in-law slammed her trunk lid on hers. Both phones are still working, with no damage.0

IF you put it in the minute rice over night, that is not gonna work. Minute rice is quicker.. regular rice is for overnight. Minute rice is done in a minute. And don't cook the rice first.. Wait! this isn't a cooking post is it? Sorry to hear about the phone..
This made me literally LOL. My coworkers think I'm crazy now.0 -
