Leftovers....
Do you like them or hate them?
Personally, I love them for lunch the next day. And in all actuality, it has more flavor since it 'sat' overnight. I know a few folks that are repulsed by leftovers....why? lol It's money wasted IMO.....
So what are your thoughts on it?

I cook in bulk so I kinda have to0

I love leftovers. That's that many less meals I have to cook.0

I like leftovers so much that sometimes I think about ordering pizza in the morning and sticking it in the fridge until dinner.0

I hate leftovers for the most part. Nothing tastes as good reheated as it does made fresh.0

I cook in bulk too and so does my mom. Food that you make (or order) is money you spent - so why throw it away if it's perfectly good still? Just wasted money, IMO. Plus, leftovers are great to snack on, great lunch or even dinner for the next night.0

Leftovers are my main meal I cook all my meals for the week on Sunday.0

I don't typically like leftover beef or pork, but leftover chicken is ok if eaten cold. Leftover pancakes are lovely, though. I eat those hot or cold. Cold roasted corn on the cob is also excellent. And, most soups definitely get better with age. If something needs a little help - like leftover roasted potatoes, I just throw on a tablespoon or two of parmesan cheese and it's all good!0

Why would you not eat leftovers? It makes life so much easier, and they're just as good! There's just not time to cook a good meal every night (not to mention for lunch), and I'm not eating fast food! So cook one good meal, and eat it for days. No more cooking, no more shopping, no more dishes. Anyone who says they won't eat leftovers obviously doesn't have to cook for themselves, or they are spoiled and were brought up to be wasteful, or eat a lot of fast food. But of course that's just my opinion.0

I absolutley love leftovers and agree it tastes better after it sits. After I cook dinner I portion out meals for the next few days nothing ever goes to waste. Yummy :drinker:0

I cook 3 or 4 casserole/stir fry meals on a Sunday and box up for lunches during the week. Dinner is something quick thrown together, and if there are leftovers they go in a box to be taken for lunch. I wouldn't survive without leftovers!0

Me too!0 -
It really depends on what the leftovers are. There are some foods that work great as leftovers, and others that most definitely do not.0

I love leftovers, and my cooking revolves around them. For lunch today, I had borracho beans I made almost 2 months ago. I make a big batch of something and freeze it into individual portions. Saves money, it's way healthier than the ones you buy at the store, and you always know there's healthy & "fast" food at home. Last week I roasted a chicken, which we had with veggies for dinner. I picked the meat off the bones, boiled the bones for stock, and made 3 more distinct meals from the leftover chicken - Chicken corn chowder (made with the homemade stock), chicken salad sandwiches, and quesadillas.0

homemade mac and cheese definitely is way better reheated0 -
We had 5 leftover chicken breasts in the fridge today and my Man wanted me to cook Shake n bake chicken breasts. I took all of the leftover breasts and cut them into little pieces and made Chicken and Rice, and it was awesome! He wasn't to upset that we didn't have shake n bake. He loved it and so did my son.
So, I love leftovers.0 -
I like the convenience of leftovers. It means less cooking for me! My husband hates them. He says it's because his mom was a terrible cook and they always had to eat leftovers that were burnt to begin with, so were extra gross later. He doesn't mind mine too much, because I'm an awesome cook, but he doesn't always eat them because he wants more variety.0

I HATE leftovers unless they are tomato based (pasta, pizza, my chili), marinated meat, or sweets.0

I wouldn't say I love leftovers, but I agree that some things taste better after they've been in the fridge for a day. I try not to waste any food.0

So are braised short ribs
I like some things left over. I won't eat left over seafood since it never reheats well. Also anything that I cooked rare or medium I don't like reheated.0 -
Hellz Yeah!!! Left overs FTW!!! Spaghetti fo sho!!!0

i don't personally like leftovers, but no one else in my house will eat them. so i'm the one who eats them all. i think at least 4 days out of the week i'm eating leftovers0

It really depends on what kind of leftovers are. Growing up, I had leftovers everyday. I think that's why I never liked it. But now that I'm learning new meals and such, I actually like having leftovers. I don't mind it as much because its a great way to experiment with many different things. That is, you have to be open-minded to combinations of foods. Right??0

i grew up eating leftovers so i'm used to it! i can't imagine not eating them. i guess it helps that we cook most things fresh from scratch, though. if it were leftovers of processed foods that might be a different story.0

I pretty much love leftovers and also can't stand the thought of wasting money, by throwing away food if it's still good and can be saved for another meal. Spaghetti sauce, chili, soups, stews, potato salad, pasta salad, baked beans.....These are all sooo much better the next day! if you refuse to eat these as leftovers, you don't know what you're missing!0

Yum.
I love left overs for breakfast and lunch.
Though lately I haven't had many left overs since I measure exactly what I am going to eat and don't make more then I should so that I don't over eat.0 -
I love leftovers, usually carry to work next day for lunch and so much better than buying fastfood and less expensive. (and I think it taste better the next day too, more flavor)0

my husband loves leftovers and pretty much every lunch he has tends to be made of leftovers. I don't mind them and have them a couple of times a week. However I get bored eating the same thing (bar breakfasts as I can't do thinking at breakfast time) and I'm also better now at cooking the right amount so we have less leftover.
I have a friend who is almost phobic about eating leftovers and used to chuck everything the minute they finished eating the meal. She's getting better though.
I've never counted bulk cooking as leftovers but having thought about it now I can't see what the difference is I suppose. I do like bulk cooking at times.0 -
I'd much rather have leftover homemade food than fast food/packaged food. Depends on what is being reheated. Lasagna, potato cheese casseroles, spaghetti, salads, etc are very good the next day. I don't really consider it "leftover" food, just having more of it to eat the next day! If it starts out good, it should be good the next day.0

Im lazy so I love leftovers. If I dont feel like cooking dinner I can just pop leftovers in the oven or microwave to heat back up, easy as that. And as the OP said a lot of things are even better the next day as far as flavors. Or if I have a particularly busy day and I dont have time to fix up a lunch for tomorrow, I just use some leftovers. Doesnt get better than that0
