This is originally my mom's recipe for Chili, which I've always loved, but I've added a thing or two to make it hotter! I will admit, there is one ingredient I've left out, to keep it unique and secret, but it will still taste absolutely delicious!
1 pound lean, ground turkey
1 can (1 4/5 cups) plain tomato sauce
1 can (4 1/2 cups) kidney beans
1 packet chili seasoning
1 can (3 1/5 cups) diced tomatoes
Louisiana hot sauce to taste
Black pepper to taste
Red pepper Flakes to taste
Cayenne pepper to taste
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash dried oregano
In a pan, brown ground turkey (or hamburger, whichever you prefer) with chili seasoning
Combine tomato sauce, kidney beans, and diced tomatoes in separate pot. Add a dash of garlic powder, a dash of oregano, and lots of black pepper, red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper, and hot sauce (or a little, depend on your taste). Keep on low heat to warm mixture until meat is brown.
Once meet is brown, add to sauce.
Easy and yummy! (And, as an added bonus, the leftovers the next day are even better!)0 -
Pumpkin Chili

It's excellent. Ground turkey, cubed sweet potato, red pepper, onion, garlic, nummy spices and yes - PUMPKIN. For real, it's my favorite. It's got a good spicy flavor with a hint of sweetness from the pumpkin and sweet potatoes.
ETA - this recipe lists vegetable oil, but I always sub it for olive oil instead. Much better for you.
Pumpkin...Yummo! I am going to have to try this one...Thanks for sharing.0 -
i use ground turkey
cook it up with onion and garlic and 1tsp of olive oil. After onion softens add chunks of mushrooms (1/4 them up), red and green peppers (about 1/4-1/2 each), jalepino or hot pepper. Cook for 5 minutes. Throw in the crock pot. Then add: 1 package of Old El-Paso Chili Powder, 1 - 1 1/2 bottle of strained tomatoes, 3 fresh tomatoes, 1 can of 6 mixed beans, 1/2 can chickpeas, 1/4 cup quinoa.
high fiber, protein, and deliciousness!0 -

This one is my new favorite. Love the variety of beans, but you could use one kind if you don't like them.
^^^^This exactally. I love all of Gina's recipes!!0 -

Here is mine. It is simple, but I did actually win a chili cook-off with it!
1 lb. lean ground beef--(I haven't tried ground turkey yet, but it should work fine!)
1 T. minced onion (use more if you like)
1 pkg. Mccormick chili seasoning
2 cans Mexican-style chili beans
2 16 oz. cans tomato sauce
2 cups tomato juice
1/2 c. ketchup
2 T. brown sugar
Brown ground beef and onion--drain and RINSE with hot water. Return to pan and stir in other ingredients. Heat and enjoy!
You can leave out the brown sugar to save on calories.0 -

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks good - and so far, everything I've tried off eatingwell.com has come out delicious:
