Does green tea make anyone else nauseous??

Should I have more food in my belly when I have my morning tea? As in, more than just cereal?
About 30 mins into my tea I feel really sick.... I never actually get sick but obviously I stop drinking the tea, so maybe I would get sick if I continued drinking?
Anyone else???
I really want to keep drinking it because I think its really good and the benefits are awesome. What gives?

YES! I thought I was the only one. I find it's worse if I'm hungry when I drink it. Sometimes I feel OK but sometimes it makes me feel really ill.0

No, I love it! LOL However, I like the real thing, the type that you make with Japanese green tea powder, I can't stand the English teabags!1

I use bags. I bought regular and +pomegranate. The regular is fine, but I feel ill drinking the pomegranate stuff. And I LOVE pomegranates.0

Yes, It always makes me stomach ache for sure. I wish I could drink it but I can't so i stick with herbal teas especially peppermint.0

I find it eases my stomach and calms me down after a stressful day. But I usually drink it on an empty stomach.0

Yup...almost every time!! Food or no food in my belly. The only time I dont feel unwell is when I have it at a Japanese restaraunt...it's weird.0

Hmm so maybe matcha is the way to go?!
I've had it in starbuck's iced green tea lattes and it's delicious!0 -

I am on the same boat!!! Had to completely stop drinking it on an empty stomach because it actually made me throw up on a number of occasions.1 -
I can't stand green tea, or really any kind of tea for that matter. If anything made me feel ill, I just wouldn't eat or drink it. Simple as that!0

green tea does work like a bit of a detox so especially on an empty stomach its nto good. particularly if youa re drinking a blend with artificial flavouring (like pomegranate) if its sugar free it means its chemical sweetners which can be harsh on an empty stomach. Try a blend that has a small amount of sugar (very small) such as tea drops honeydew green tea (if you google it you can buy it online). you can also put a bit of lemon or orange rind in your tea to give it a natural sweeter flavour. I drink a lot of green tea, i find if i brew it slightly weaker and if you brew it, a little before boiling temperature it doesnt get the bitter taste which helps6

YES! I thought I was the only one also! I can drink it during the day or evening with no problems, but in the mornings (food or not) it makes me very nauseous. I don't know why, but I do avoid it and all teas in the mornings because of it.0 -
It could be that you may be brewing/steeping it too long. I can take my black tea pretty damn strong, but if I pass that limit, and don't have enough food in my stomach. Feel totally amazingly horrid.
Try cutting back maybe by a minute or so and see if it improves for you.0 -
I didn't think I could drink green tea either. Lipton green tea makes me feel ill. Twinnings is great though. Might just be the type of green tea you are drinking.0

YES! I have tried and tried, for it's health benefits. I have started adding a couple of bags of green tea to my ice tea ratio. Its about the only way I can handle it.0

I drink daily and no nausea but I did buy an organic kind maybe why? I love the stuff!0

Same here. I use the Stash Organic Decaf. I drink it all day long (iced) and don't have any problems. I too love the stuff so much I have it on auto ship from Amazon so I never run out. :-)0 -
It did now drink the Lemon green tea and that seems okay0

Green tea ALWAYS makes me nauseous on an empty stomach! And I have been drinking it for years. I have actually thrown up! Even if it's later in the afternoon and I drink it on an empty stomach it makes me very nauseous. I have just try to adjust. Even sometimes I think my stomach is full enough and it still makes me sick. But, I like you, I keep drinking bc of the benefits.0
