Ladies - any comfy running shoes you can recommend? I currently use the Reebok toning shoes (while jogging/walking) and they're not too comfortable.

I've been saving up to get a good pair, and plan on going to a running store this weekend so they can analyze my run and recommend a shoe0

Yes!0 -
I recently bought Nike Vomero shoes - pricy, but worth every penny!0
-
Asics Maverick Gel!
Just got myself a second pair. They're fantastic on a treadmill or road/sidewalk, doesn't matter.0 -
You have to find out which shoes fit your feet. Like myself, Nikes are killers to my feet. I prefere Asics. My friend on the other hand would not even dream to use anything elsa than Nike. You know the shoes are wright, when You have no doubts about them. And if You are planning to use those shoes alot, don't look at the price. They are going to be worth of every penny, if they fit. Consider also to have custom made insoles0

You need to be fitted at a running store. What works for one person doesn't always work for another.0

Agree with PP about getting fitted. And generally just trying on a bunch of shoes. Both my sister and I recently went to a running store to get fitted. We both have neutral feet so were looking at the same shoes. I put on a pair of Mizunos and instantly knew they were my shoes. They felt so comfortable and amazing. My sister put on the same pair and immediately wanted them off because they hurt her feet. You have to find out what type of shoe is right for you and then try on a bunch of different pairs, you will know which one feels best for your feet.0

Go get fitted at a running store (don't just go to a shoe/sporting goods store in the mall).
Everyone has different needs - for example, I could tell you that Brooks Adrenalines are AWESOME and I love how they relieve the pain in my shins I get from underpronating and I highly recommend them. But that might not help you because you might not underpronate.0 -
I really like reebok zigs.0

Absolutely get fitted at a running store.
Ask to try on Asics Gel Nimbus - I have "13" and they just released "14".
SUPER-SQUISHY! very well cushioned, feels like running on air.0 -
Saucony: I try and get the older version because it's just as good and it's also cheaper0
-
I love Brooks, they're the only brand that I'll run in!0
-
I wear Asics or Mizuno. Can't wear Nike or NB if my life depended on it.
Good luck! A good shoe can make or break a workout.0 -
I too go for the Asica gel nimbus- I have horrible knee pain. I was also fitted at a running store though. When my knees start to "flare-up" I know it's time for a new pair of kicks!0

I had the Brooks Ghost 4...loved them. Turned around and bought the Brooks Ghost 5! Even better! They are for neutral fitting.0

The toning shoes are not good for running in. They are designed to throw you off balance, which is why they 'tone' you. They should only be used for walking.
Go to a decent shoe store that specializes in running. Because I'm going to tell you New Balance, and someone will say Brooks, and someone else will say Saucany or Asics.
And none of us are wrong. Expect to pay over $100, though. And use your running shoes ONLY for running.0 -

definately asics. nike has some shoes that are lighter but the comfort level is way better by leaps and bounds with asics0

Brooks Glycerin 9 and my backups are Nike Pegasus 28+0

Yep, you really need to go get fitted at a store, even if you intend to buy them later online for cheaper or whatever. The only running shoes that fit my feet correctly are men's Asics, and I only know that because I got fitted at Luke's Locker. Similar shoes in other brands felt terrible. So what's comfortable for us may not be comfortable for you!0

Go get fitted at a running store.
This is the only answer
The right shoe for me is not the right shoe for you. Our feet are different anatomically. When I went to the running store for a fitting, I ended up with a COMPLETELY different shoe than I thought I would get, and it's fantastic.
Go with what feels right.0 -
You need to find what fits YOU. I like to look at runners world or some place that shows shows for over pronation, under pronation, etc and then pick a few models of shows for your type of feet, then go try them on. You will find certain brands that tend to work for you then and can order them online or go to a store with that in mind.0

Please name me a running store....I live in a very small area and we don't have much to choose from. All we have is Foot Locker....so I'm guessing there is going to be a drive involved. I just recently wore HUGE wounds into the backs of my heels from a pair of Nikes which seemed very comfy when I tried them on. I can only wear flip flops right now and haven't been able to run at all.0

I got fitted for ascics gel. I am not a runner but they are running shoes. They are like butter!0

First I got fitted at the best running shoe store in town.. But, the shoes I got were not at all comfortable or "fitted" and I actually ended up with sheets of blisters all over my feet that would not heal considering I was doing half marathon training earlier in the year for an april half, which I am also at mile 8 of now for an october half and still don't have any problems with my feet blistering this time around . Thanks to these ----> Currently I wear gel asics kayano 18 and they are by far the best shoes I have EVER owned! The ones I got were a limited release (pink, purple and other bright colors all in one shoe) and got them at lady foot locker, but if those are unavailable (they were sold out and were not getting any more in at my lady foot locker when I went back to get a second pair) you can't go wrong with gel asics they are amazing.0

Definitely get fitted at a running store to make sure they are right for your type of foot and your running gait! I get fitted pretty much everytime I need a new pair of shoes because your gait can change. For a while I was always running in Asics, and really switched to Brooks. When you find the right shoes you will know!0
