DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME? I STARTED OUT REALLY GOOD FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKS, THEN WANED THE 3RD WEEK. WENT OVER ON CALORIES EVERY DAY. SLOWED ON EXERCISE TOO. good morning ladies....
where are our newbies. newbies come on out and play. we don't bite. some of us aren't on here on weekends. i am cause it's my outlet.
wally. we all have days, weeks, months of just not able to get it together. my ticker use to say 82#s lost. but, life gets in the way and I, ME, MYSELF let it get in my way. life doesn't have to. we all have to learn to live with life's stresses. that is my battle. letting life run my eating and exercising. just do one or the other right now until you can get it together for both.
everyone is doing a great job either be exercising or eating or both. i am coming to realize that what ever happened to my body is now me. i still think something is wrong to prevent me from losing. now to convience the doc. yea, right. i will keep working at it. i am thinking thyroid. he has checked and said normal. but, i could be real close. so asking referal to an endro to check it.
found out yesterday that on of my gym locations merged with another. so going to try the other one, but, i have to have my contract, cause my gym hasn't sent it over to them. so now gotta wait until 9 when it's maned. excited. hope to be just as excited by then. have an hour.
need to get my last cup of coffee in and get my gym stuff together.

Amy S - God not only was I up til 2:30, but I ended up sitting til 3:30 in the morning! She was an hour late because she was too drunk to hardly stand! I get letting loose from your kids every once in awhile, but last night was REALLY uncomfortable for me as a recurring sitter... GOOD LUCK ON YOUR WALK TODAY!!!!! *motivational fits pumps and cheering insue* and yay for many different C25k podcasts! I know i get bored if I have to listen to the same one over n over.
Em- Stick to those calories and have a good time up north!

So about me, "
I didnt end up in bed and asleep til 4, had to get up at 9 for work, and now I am working 10-5, then sitting for a different family from 5- I HAVE NO CLUE. Im exhausted already, and I can feel my illness coming back. Not to mention the kids last night were sick, the two year old was a total angle, but the 5 year old threw a HUGE tantrum when I tried to get her ready for bed, even though she had been sleeping on the couch already! She actually threw a mason jar full of jewelry at me!!! (and hit me i might add, it hurt!) I def. had my children skills tested last night, but it all ended well, The key my friends is ignoring and being nice haha.
Here is another bad thing, I WENT WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over my calories last night. I hate babysitting for that exact reason! I ate everything the kids ate, plus some candy after they went to sleep!!!!! BLAH!!!! And I have to do it again tonight!!!! :sad: :sad: :sad: I need to get in some kind of exorcise tonight, I HAVE TOO! Except I have no time! I am already at work and I have no clue when I am going to be getting off babysitting.... God, If I didnt need the money to save up to go see my bf in florida at spring break I would honestly turn down the job tonight...

Well i am extremely proud that I started and finished my three mile walk .... and a bit more after the seminar to get back to the car..... !!!!!! And i didnt finish first but i didnt finish last either !!!! SO CHEERS to everyone who came out to support all the survivors, and the people battling such an awful disease !

Wally --- i agree with everyone girl ... we all have weeks where life slaps us the face and we JUST cannot get it together..... BUT the key is to KEEP ONGOING .... and even if you dont do as well as you would like a week ..... jump back on the band wagon .... and you will see results ! everytime i would lose focus i would give up and after a while more lbs creep on .... so i decided even if i have give in sometimes .... or not exercise as much.... that i will keep going ! hoping this coming week is a lot better for you ! Ive done weight watchers and seen great success but i find this site so much easier to use and log in the foods instead of the WW site.... and ive done weight watcher meetings .... but they just werent for me ..... but they are for some people... i say give this site a few more weeks and if you still want to try WW then do what your heart tells you to do !
Cathy -- i think its great to take charrge with your own body and your own health !!!! if you feel something is wrong i think its GREAT to be referred to a specialist ! Hope you liked the new gym ...... !!!!!

B-- omgosh i could not imagine your day and night of babystting yesterday and to not get hardly any sleep and do it all over again ! Im so sorry your feeling like your getting sick ! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SICkIES GO AWaYYYYYYYYYYYYY ! ....... C25k training begins monday ! haha ! Today is going to be a bad food day cuz theres pizza involved. But I haven't had pizza in such along time. Its homemade a smells so good in the oven right now. Can you guys smell it too??? pineapple ham bacon bell pepper mushrooms tomato onion and lots of cheese.....
Later it will be wii golf bowling and lots of rain out side.

just a quick check in for me.
amyls.....what was the walk for? sorry if you posted. i must have missed it.
i didn't like the new gym, not enough treadmills and the weights sat infront of the treadmills. i don't like someone watching over my back while i am on the weights. i did burn over 1100 cals on treadmill and ellipical. i had upped my jogging.
super tired today so cutting it short and really need to get dinner finished.

Cathy --- It was for Breast Cancer Awareness and support ! there were over 30 survivors which for our island is ALOT ! and alot of memories for the people we have all lost ! IT WAS AN AMAZING DAY ! Aw sorry you didnt like the new gym ! that sucks ! but at least you have the other one right?!0 -

Wow - you guys have been busy posters!! I'm on my way to bed and just wanted to stop and check in real quick. You guys are doing so great with the exercise thing. I need to get back on the treadmill - just so busy trying to get all the tax papers and receipts together. I have a lot of work the next several days. Anyway - I am doing really good getting the sugar out of my diet. The SF jello and smoothies are working really well to keep the cravings at bay. And I'm feeling less tired during the day which is good.
So - my goal for tomorrow: Even though I have a busy day, I will get on the treadmill in the morning and the evening for at least 30 minutes each.0 -

Hello everyone.... I am looking for a good group to work with. Is there a weigh in day, are there weekly challenges?
A bit about me: I am 50,187lbs and hoping to be 186 on Monday. I want to loose 1-2 lbs per week and so far so good. I have a difficult time drinking the water for the day and i am usually under on calories. I get 1550 cals per week and i am 1200 to 1350, on the norm. I don't go over on fats but i usually am over on protein and fiber.
Exercise: right now i can not work out except arms and abs. My left foot is hurt, so no anything on it till Feb.
I am going on my first cruise at the end of April and would love to have dropped 15 lbs from my SW -191. I am 5' 7" and have been fairly athletic all my life. About 1.5 years ago i started going to a trainer to really get into shape and i could really tell that i was changing size. I didn't loose but 10 lbs. I was frustrated at the 100 per lbs training. I couldn't continue to justify that. I was running 1.5 miles on the treadmill at about 5.5 mph. Doing a ton of weights, ab, arm, and leg workout. 1-2 yoga classes as well. My doc didn't understand it either. I wasn't eat junk food....
Now I know....... I WASN'T EATING ENOUGH!!!!0 -

amyls i have 6 total gym locations to choose from they are slowly taking over all of them. hope they don't change them. my membership is up the end of year if they do..

Hello all!!! Special hello to all the newbies!! Welcome! Just to tell you a little about myself....my name is Amy, but I go by my first and middle name on here since i think we have 3 or 4 Amys! So i'll show up as Amy Lou most likely. I'm in my last semester of my masters program and so i'm not always able to post consistently depending on class and homework, etc. So I ask your forgiveness for that in advance!!! I have been doing challenges with the Sixers since September 2008. CRAZY!!!!!! This is a wonderful group of women that continue to astound and amaze me each and every day.
I will try and keep up with posts better and do personals, but quite frankly i wouldn't know where to start today since I'm way behind on the boards!! Next time I promise!
Had a really rough day yesterday, emotionally that is. Lots of stuff going on and tons of things changing, as is expected in your last semester of school I suppose!! And it got the best of me a little bit but I recovered, unfortunately not before consuming WAYYYY too much ice cream. haha. As many of the ladies know, that is my greatest weakness. :blushing:
But today is a new day and let me tell you, i feel ten times better. Church this morning was definitely inspiring and I think it will be a great week. Supposed to hear back about the fellowship I interviewed for at the beginning of the month so hopefully its good news!!!

Well for me today, I cleaned the house, barely worked on the packet for the new job and kinda didn't feel well do to TOM. However, I walked the nature trail for 5 miles so I feel great. I know that walking long hilly trails gives me a jumpstart on my fitness for the week!!!
I have a motivation idea for you ladies. I was getting tired ,trying to figure out what workouts to do or what to focus on. So I took an old EGG CARTON 18 count and painted the container. Inside each slot has a workout or dvd idea. Each day I will pick out of one of the spaces and do that exercise! I even put a bonus like Focus on getting water today or add more fruit today.

No Shred Report today:grumble: The weather had finally got to me and Tony so we went out dancing last night. I wore a new pair of clogs which gave me a blister on the top of my baby toe. Today my toe hurts bad.:noway: :noway: So I am going to take today off since my foot doesn't want any thing to do with shoes or even slippers for that matter. Tomarrow I will be back no matter what...

izzypup - Welcome!! I had the same problem last summer - exercising, eating about 1200 calories and not losing weight. Once I bumped it up to about 1500 calories, then my weight started to move. I honestly have not been logging my food the last couple months. But I'm trying to focus on getting the exercise going on a steady basis first.
Tamm - Wow - great motivation to get yourself out for a 5 mile walk when you weren't feeling well.
After raining 5 days straight, this was our first sunny and warmer day. I decided to go bike riding instead of the treadmill this morning. Went on a long bike ride with the family. So nice to be outside!! I'll be getting on the treadmill after dinner. Hope you all are having a great day.0 -
Hey everyone! Newbies WELCOME!!!
I'm still in the midst of my 9 day straight working streak THEN a test Friday. I switch to working nights tomorrow so I'm just praying that I can keep it all together while I study and work and deliver babies :-) (which by the way IS AMAZING!!!) Um... I'm usually not so Mia but school is running me crazy every second and I have to do well on this test, so give me til Friday and I'll do some personals!! ok!?
I may try to study while I ride the exercise bike, but mostly at this time I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible so I can keep the anxiety about the test LOW! Miss you all! I'll check in and read as much as I can!
Oh I made mashed potatoes from scratch for dinner! DELICIOUS! AND I am making a homemade soup that I pray will taste good. No clue. I kinda just mixed up some ingredients... lol. chicken, veggies, potatoes, etc. ok gotta study! bye!
P.S: Sis the egg cartoon idea is SO cute! can you make me one and give it to me next time I see you!? (maybe this weekend? I'm free!! ) Love ya0 -

izzypup - Welcome!! I had the same problem last summer - exercising, eating about 1200 calories and not losing weight. Once I bumped it up to about 1500 calories, then my weight started to move. After Feb 2nd i hope to be back on the exercise treadmill so to speak... My foot feels a ton better. It has just been crazy rainy and dreary in the STL.... have a great day out there!!!!!0 -

I WENT TO THE GYM TODAY.....for the first time since the end of October. Huge victory for me. I also found some iron supplement pills that do not upset my stomach!!!!! They are food based but are the same potency that my doc wanted me on. I went to a local pharmacy that has a naturopath doc on staff. He made the suggestion and said to bring them back if they didnt work out. YAY! For those who are long-timers you know I have struggled with this for over a year.For the newbies....I have borderline severe anemia. I am so very happy to think that in just a few weeks I could get my energy back!0

OMG I am exhausted... I can barely keep my eyes open as I am typing this, So sorry yal but personals are not going to happen today, I will DEFF try and do them tomorrow!
So last night got home around midnight, slept like crap though, It was all terrible nightmares, and the inability to get comfortable. :grumble: However, I woke up this morning, to a very long hot bath (a very needed one!) and then went to the new gym with my mum! This gym is seriously a palace!! ITS HUGE!!! So I ran a mile on the Elliptical, burned 115 calories, and I did it in eleven minutes and sixteen seconds!!! YAY ME!!! And Then my mom and I decided I would check out this machine that we had never seen before, Its a cross country sking machine! You literally buckle yourself tightly with a waist strap, grab on to what would be the ski poles (REALLY flexible) and plant your feet on what would be the skis, and then do a program. I chose the Walk IN the Park program and thought 15 minutes would be a great work out.... OMG that machine KICKED MY BUTT!!!!!! I burned a 125 calories and man ol man my body felt it! IT worked my arms, my chest, my thighs, my butt! It might just be my new favorite machine, by the way I would have burned more calories but I could never get going very quickly! I thought level 1 was hard, but it would go up to level 2 and 3 on resistance, and when it would do that i really couldnt go very quickly at all! after a couple weeks on that machine my but and theighs are going to be INCREDIBLY toned.
So then my mum and I went to sams, I got some more frozen blueberries and some Real Fruit Popsicles.We rented Julie & Julia, which was a pretty good movie! Well when my brother and dad got home from their captains classes we all decided to go back up to the gym and play some tennis as a family, Mind you NONE of us really play tennis, my brother and I like to play with some of our friends but that is it. We ended up playing some hardcore tennis (for newbs) for over 2 hours!!!!!!! And my mom and I left my dad and my brother mid game because we were falling asleep while sitting!!! haha. This gym is going to be really good for my family, I can tell!
So in other news, I am very tired, I am fighting my kitten for the keyboard at the moment, and my bf and i are in a fight...
But honestly I just want my pillow so that is what I am going to do, I am going to pass out haha.

Tiff - Wow - 69 minutes!! Well - I certainly have no place to complain about not having enough time or energy to exercise. Can I borrow some of your energy?
So, it was getting late and I was doing a good job of talking myself out of getting on the treadmill tonight. Then I decided to check the board and saw Tiff, Amy, and B all posting about their great workouts tonight and it motivated me to get on my treadmill. Thanks, guys - I really needed the push. I walked 1.5 miles, biked 2 miles, and it feels great to meet my goal for today.0 -
Hooray to everyone over the weekend getting some sort of working out in ..... or some sort of GREAT Goal made !!!!!!
