Any healthy options? I looked online first, before posting this, and honestly didn't really see anything. My boyfriend and I are going to the store tomorrow so I need to know what to get! Thanks in advance!

I have used and english muffin (so I get two mini pizzas- I like Thomas whole grain or triple health cause they are both about 100 calories) with jarred sauce (look for a healthier option) and then part-skim mozzarella and veggies or lean meat Not too bad if you need to satisfy the craving.2

I made individual pizzas the other night for dinner, I used a 100 calorie pita for the crust, 2 tbsp of marinara sauce, and 1/4 cup skim mozzarella cheese. you can add finely chopped onions, green peppers, mushrooms, or ham and pineapple etc... should be less than 300 cals even loaded with veggies or lean ham. it was yummy2

Make your own - use a pita or thin crust, low fat mozza cheese, turkey pepperoni or diced boneless skinless chicken, etc.1

I didnt know pizza was unhealthy.
But I second the english muffin idea. add some chopped up green peppers and onions, Hell if all you have is bread make it on that.2 -
I've been buying the Tombstone original pepperoni pizzas. I can have l/4 of the pizza and it really fills me up. Hubby eats the rest. I can't remember the nutritution information, but maybe you can get it online.1

i get thin crust pizza dough or pita bread & put on tomato sauce, spinach, tomatoes, red peppers, basil, sometimes cheese-less, sometimes a sprinkle of vegan cheese.0

Sure there are many ways to create your own version. If you like zucchini you could slice them the long way (hint : to make them stand straight slice off a shallow strip of the bottom of each zucchini)...scoop out the seeds and fill with topping of your choice...top off with a bit of mozzarella (or any cheese you enjoy) and bake for about 30 mins.
I personally don't think there is anything wrong with having a slice or two of pizza now and then though.0 -
I use pita bread--whole wheat, leftover Ragu sauce--sugar free, mozzarella, Canadian bacon and frozen spinach0

you can find some healthy options on youtube.0

^^^^ THIS!
I use 100 calorie wraps, and use lots of veggies and low cal cheese.0 -
I really like making homemade veggie pizza, but when you're craving a traditional, greasy, pepperoni pizza I love Lean Cuisine. It'd probably be about $2.50, but it's much healthier than running out to the pizza store0

I made pizza last night. 1 slice of Mountain Bread, a bit of pizza sauce, large handful of baby spinach, 2 mushrooms, capsicum (pepper), a bit of lean ham and a little low fat cheese. About 240 calories0

Makes 8 servings (big slices) at 377 calories per slice
This recipe takes a lot of time and work but is truly worth it. I have a friend that calls some weekends just to ask if we are making it.
Pure Honey 2 Teaspoons
Whole Wheat Flour, 3.5 Cup
Olive Oil - Extra Virgin, 1 tbsp
Iodized Salt - Salt, 1 tsp
Yeast - Baker's, active dry, 1 tbsp
Green Bell Pepper, 1 medium (4.2 oz)
Red Bell Pepper , 1 cup
Red Onion, Large, Raw, 1 large onion
7 Medium Garlic Cloves
Low Moisture Part Skim Mozzerella Cheese, 1.5 cup (28g)
Kroger - Pizza Snack Sauce Traditional, 3/4 cup
Low Fat Mozzarella Cheese Stick, 4.5 stick
Spinach - Raw, 3 cup
Bob's Red Mill - Whole Ground Flax Seed Meal 6 Tbsp.
1. Add 1 1/2 cups of warm water to a big bowl.
2. disolve 2 teaspoons of honey in the water
3. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of dry yeast on top of the water and let it sit for 10 minutes
4. Stir in salt and olive oil
5. Stir in 3.5 cups of whole wheat flour and 3 tablespoons of flax meal.
6. Mix until it comes together
7. dump the dough onto a flat surface.
8. kneed and fold the dough into a smooth ball and put it back into the freshly cleaned bowl. ( clean the bowl you used before so you have less dirty dishes at the end!)
9.Let sit for 2 hours!
10. preheat the oven to 425
11. Flour your flat surface with half of the remaining flax meal (or more if you need it)
12. Put on the dough, flatten it out some and roll it into a pizza crust
13. Dust your pizza pan with EVEN MORE flax meal
14. Put the dough on the pan. ( sometime I just roll the dough while it is on the flaxed up pan)
15. Tear the cheese sticks in half and roll them into the edges of your stuffed crust pizza
16. I like to spray the edge of the crust with Pam and sprinkle on some garlic salt at this point
17. Poke some holes in the crust with a fork ( I always forget this part). Put it in the oven for 5 minutes or longer. The longer you pre cook it, the crunchier your crust will be.
18. While it is cooking, Chop up all of your veggies to the size and shape you would prefer for your pizza.
19. Take the crust out of the oven.
20 put the onions and peppers in the oven for 10 minutes or so, you can leave some out if you would like some unroasted veggies on your pizza.
21. Spread the pizza sauce on your pizza crust.
22. Put the spinach right in there.
23. Pull hte veggies out of the oven
24. Spread them all over that pizza.
25. Put the cheese on top, then the garlic.
26. Put that all back in the oven for about 15 minutes.
27. Pull it out, cut it and EAT it. ( Warning! Eat 1 piece and see how it sits before you eat another. There is a LOT of fiber in there.0 -
I use English muffins, pita bread, lavash bread or those FlatOut breads. You can also make a cauliflower pizza crust, I saw it on Pinterest and am gonna try it! Its supposedly pretty tasty. Those are your best bets calorie-wise.0

^ I do this too, with spicy peperoni, ketchup/tomato sauce and lite tasty cheese. This is my constant go to food for lazy fat/protien cravings. Mine work out to be about 320 calories and I am using high fibre muffins. I Love pizza0 -
Margherita Pizza (smoked mozzerella, fresh basil, garlic, evoo on a whole wheat crust)
Southwestern Pizza (http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recipe/pizza/southwestern-pizza/)
Spinach Alfredo Carbonara Pizza (use cauliflower alfredo sauce in place of regular) http://americanfood.about.com/od/riceandgrains/r/Cauliflower_Alf.htm
Sorry I don't have a link to the third one but if you look up recipes for it, you can just sub the sauce.
Those are a few I've made0 -
i just made some veggie pizzas tonight! (no cheese though except a bit of feta and bit of ricotta).
and i had them on 100% whole wheat pita pockets as the crust - and just used a pasta sauce as the sauce lol
and toppings: spinach, onion, mushroom, peppers, zucchini, diced tomato and feta and ricotta on there (i added actual cheddar to the 2nd one of my husbands and he LOVED it!). and they were pretty darn tasty! Hubby and I had 2 each and it was quite filling!0 -
Use a tortilla spread organic sauce on it top it with all your favorites veggies and mozzarella! ENJOY!1

Just go for the real thing... plan for it so that your other calories are on track (and sodium.... Papa John's is loaded with it). It's no use giving in to your craving unless you get what you really want. One or two slices, not half a pie. On my pizza days the next day is plus one and a half or so from sodium, but in a day or so it's back on track. Enjoy!0

i like to use low carb wheat tortilla, and then add spaghetti sauce and mozz cheese with veggies, and make it like a quesadilla. or you can get a type of flat bread wrap to use, english muffins, bagel thins, etc. if you feel like putting in some effort, you can make a crust out of cauliflower1

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet: cauliflower crust pizza!
I've only made this once so far but it is GOOD! You can flavor up the crust with your favorite spices too! I put oregano and garlic in mine. here is a link to one of the recipes here on the message boards.

I go to Little Italy and order a large Cheese Pizza and eat two slices. Did you know that if you eat pepperoni pizza, you can remove up to 10 grams of fat by blotting the top with a napkin to get rid of the grease. Read it in a mag and thought it was incredible.0

Sprouts Farmer's Market have these frozen pizzas and I have yet to try it. They have some pretty awesome healthy choices!!0

I use tortillas to make pizza for myself.
This is my recipe for the base. The first five ingredients make the sauce. Modify your nutrition info when you add other ingredients.

Pizza is my absolute favorite food but it's so high in fat and carbs and calories . And if I am going to ever have a cheat day, it has to be the real thing!0
