Hi everyone hope your days are going well. I saw some great exercising going on with alot of you so congrats on that. Exercise is still real hit and miss with me. I havent found anything I really enjoy at all and I know that is the key to sticking to it. Today has been really long and not great. I got pretty much no sleep last night. We found a brown recluse spider in the house yesterday and they are bad bad bad. So at ten lat night I am getting enough bug bombs to either kill everything or blow up my house and then getting the house all ready and bombing. And yes I am the queen of cheap so di I go and get a hotel room. Nope tried to sleep in the back of the durango. That did not work, lol. Good news I havent seen any sign of creepy crawlies since coming back in the house but I was just to tired to care about anything including what I ate and it shows in my food choices. I could have done a lot worse but it still kinda sucks. I hope everyone is gearing up to have a good weekend. I will be busy getting the house and yard all nice and spiffy looking. My husband called today they are in port and he will be home on Monday. I cant wait to see him. It has been three months which is to long. Next year they are switching to two months contractw which will be better. Anyway i will "see" you all tomorrow. Have a great night.

I HATE spiders!!!! :noway: It seems like they are especially bad this year... maybe because we had a late summer here. I would've slept in the car too... and likely my day would've been filled with chocolate, ice cream, chocolate, more ice cream... and any other sweet comfort food I could find

I hope they are gone for good and that you can rest easy tonight. :flowerforyou:

When i lived in oklahoma i was always finding brown recluses in my house. they're everywhere up there. we'd get up in the morning and shake our shoes out just to be sure before putting them on. and they are not reclusive at all. they're get all up in your grill if you get too close to them. i was bitten by a necrotic spider once. it wasn't the nicest thing ever, but it wasn't really as bad as sleeping in the back of a durango lol. we don't have brown recluses here in new mexico. in fact, we have almost no bugs at all. but this last winter was very warm and our spider population has exploded. enough that there's been news stories about the black widow infestation here in central new mexico. the other day i found two black widows, one in my garage and one on my front porch. the one in the garage was the biggest freaking black widow i've ever seen in my life. it had to be the size of a quarter in the body. a silver dollar if you counted the legs. i didn't even know they could get that big. i told my husband, 'mike, i need you in the garage. and bring a big shoe' there was no way i was killing that thing. black widows do scare me though because their poison affects the nervous system and i have little ones in the house. i killed both of them i saw and just hope none have gotten in the house. i'll be glad when winter hits, though.

I've been trying to stay awake to help with the roll-over, but I'm just too darn tired.

I know we will all make it to the other side okay, so I'm going to bed now.

About 13 more posts before the rollover, if my math is correct. (Basic arithmetic occasionally eludes me.)

Sorry I've been gone so much recently; I'm realizing that it's been over a week since I last checked in here. Have not read the 10 pages I'm behind yet, so.... Love and hugs to all.

I made a commitment to get back on the wagon this week; started Tuesday, when my oldest kid went back to school. So I'm on Day 4 of Back to Healthy Eating, and I've managed to stop myself from getting a blended coffee drink (nearly kicked myself in the head when I had the urge to go to Black Rock), I've eaten a healthy alternative when my hubby got fast food for himself and the kids, got something pretty darn decent at a Vietnamese restaurant today, and I've been coming in with calories to spare. Also much lower carbs (totally making that "under 150 average" goal so far) and mucho protein (120+ grams). Not exercising this week; I need to get the food back under control, so I'm putting my focus there.

Weekends are MUCH more challenging than weekdays, though, so the next couple of days will be important for me in terms of really getting back on the wagon. I expect to spend some time being Super Mom to a couple of Velcro Children. Both my kids have been clingier than usual recently, and my 3yo just face-planted and got her lip, teeth, and nose pretty good today. (And her dad had to take care of all this solo; I'm on call tonight, so I can't be there.) Apparently, her mood greatly improved when she finally got some ibuprofen into her. But she'll probably want to be carried around tomorrow, and lugging a 40-lb kid around is a workout in and of itself. Gonna teach my older one how to use her new sewing machine (got her a very simple model as a starter) and make pillow covers for big throw pillows for the girls' room. Kinda excited about that.

Okay, off to do some more of that "work" stuff. Will try to do better checking in more regularly here; I miss you guys!

I'm sorry I havent been on in the last few days, got caught up with work and school work. Its that time of the month so the scale has gone up, trying not to let it get me down. I haven't yet had a chance to catch up on what I've missed, tomorrow I will do my best to do so, though I have to clean the house from top to bottom in prep for an in-law visit.

Fitness Friday - still the same, getting my butt to the gym.

Wow I almost missed Friday Fitness. Have exercized everyday this week - Kettlebells, daily walk , elliptical. I started an online exercise group - there are 3 of us so far who do kettlebells. We all live in different states and different time zones so we text each other when we are starting our routines and text when we are finished. It really helps keep us motivated and accountable.

    Have a great weekend!:flowerforyou:

Im a personal trainer and although still working on becoming a fitness nutrition specialist. i feel i can help tremendously with an exercise/diet questions you may have. MFP is a wonderful start it encouraged me to become a trainer after I lost 30 pounds in 5 months just in time for my husband to come home from a long separation :)

Saturday success - man, I'm so far behind here. I swear I've read everything but retained NOTHING!! Okay, a NSV is that although I've been all alone facing more and more problems, I have not resorted to cheaper non-healthy food alternatives. I've been hungry and tired a lot over the last week and a half but I'm still hanging in there.

Hoping all of you are also hanging in through illness, hardships, family problems----all those things life throws at you.

    Be well.

I've thought about kettlebells Gloworm... do you have a program you use, or just do lifting with them?

So i just found this post and decided i would give it a whirl. I'm 21, ill be 22 in february. i was 175 before having kids and i went up to 247. i had gall bladder removal july of 2011. and went down to 234 lbs. and after having two boughts of a one week bug over the months, i got down to 224. finally decided that i needed to change the way i was eating and lose some weight. dropped down to 216 in 2 months. i started the liquid amino diet a month ago (a month tomorrow) and i am 200lbs now. I am trying to get down to 150. which means 50 more lbs to go. I dont really exercise. i go about normal daily things. i have two kids like i said, a 2 year old and a 4 year old. and im married. i work part time and am a full time student as well. busy girl! i know. also a member of student govt at my college. so any tips that anyone can give me would be great. i already dont have any sodium and i boil my chicken. and grill my steak and bison. im drinking water with lemon and absolutely no soda or juice. 4 servings of veggies a day and 2 of fruit along with 5 protein. and a healthy fat. so any tips to keep the ball rolling?

Good morning everyone! Only 4 more posts to the roll over!

@shrink--sorry about your kiddo's face! that sounds NOT fun. Glad you have been able to get back on track with your nutrition. Blended coffee drinks are my current weakness. Fortunately, mocha fraps come in a "light" version so I can stay under calories, but the sugar is still way high. :ohwell:

@lin--I'm glad you've been able to stick with healthy eating even with all of the stress in your life right now. Sorry you feel so alone right now in caring for your father. One of the down sides of making close friends on this thread is that we are often too far away to be of help ITRW. Sending you cyber-hugs, though I know it's not the same as really being there to support you.

@glow--I love that you and your friends are doing the long-distance workouts--such a great idea to motivate you all!

@jt--yuck! I hate spiders. Fortunately, there aren't any dangerous ones in northern IL, but they still creep me out.

    Saturday Success:
I'm really happy that I've managed to keep exercising regularly now that I'm back to work. I know it will get harder and harder as the work piles up, but it's a good start. And even though I didn't stick to my week's plan perfectly, I've still done a lot more this year than I have in past years.
