    I didn't make my goal this week - worked long hours and struggled to fit in workouts. Hoping to do better next week. But many of you did awesome this week - make it happen again!!

    It was a dark and stormy night....
    Well not when I started out. After a day with grandkids, I ended up with 300 odd calories still to burn if I was going to meet my goal for the week. So I set out for a walk at about 6:30 P.M. I decided to try a new route and I got all tangled up in some residential cul de sacs. Finally I could see the main road I was trying to reach but I was seeing it across the grounds of a grave yard. There was an entrance so I decided to go that way. I wandered. The roads twined and it turned out the main road I'd seen was on the other side of a chain link fence. As a matter of fact the whole cemetary appeared to be fenced. By this time it was starting to rain and I was loosing daylight. I couldn't find the entrance I had come in nor any other one. I meandered (briskly) for over half an hour before I found a hole in the fencing and escaped. I arrived home soaked to the skin but hey! I made my goal!

    My weekly goal was 3,500 calories
    Mon: calories burned 740 walking, cycling and circuit training
    Tues: calories burned 424 walking
    Wed: calories burned 354 walking
    Thur: calories burned 456 walking
    Fri: calories burned 734 walking, cycling and circuit training
    Sat: calories 457 walking

    Target reached and even exceeded!

    Victory would have been all the sweeter but for a gluttonous weekend with my girlfriend's parents which meant that I still missed mu overall calorie goal by a wide margin. Dammit. But then again, who would willingly go without pork crackling when it's in front of them?

    Didn't quite make it this past week, but Friday's rather serious asthma attack, and Tuesday's minor one, certainly had an impact on my cardio this week. Here's hoping next week's better!

  • For some reason, MFP is not letting me edit my earlier comment, but I thought I'd share, for accountability reasons, that I didn't quite make my goal last week, nor did I update my comment on this feed when I did exercise. So slight fail on week 1 of participating in this thread. Gonna keep trying though! I burned 2985 total. But, if I do all the workouts I plan to do (i missed 2 planned ones last week) I should be able to exceed 3500 without a prob. Here's hoping!
