gmreber, I might have missed it...but do you use Shakeology? I've been wanting to try it (we just use the GMC chocolate stuff), but I didn't want to make the big purchase if I didn't know if I would like it. I know Chalene really talks it up in all of her blogs and exersizes and things.
I do use Shakeology! I'm planning on having it tonight for dinner. I used to drink it every morning for breakfast but after the Holidays so I got out of the habit but now I'm going back to it! I miss it so much! I love the stuff. Honestly I think I'm feeling a bit tired and worn down b/c I'm not drinking it! I told my husband this morning I need to get back on it and he agreed b/c he loves it too.
I posted earlier that I've tried so many protein shakes or shakes in general and nothing compares! I love Shakeology, especially the chocolate. It's like a milk shake!!!
I'm a registered Beachbody Coach (see link below) so if you're interested you can go to my site and check it out. They do sell it in individual packets as well. Great for traveling.
I could go on and on about the benefits of it but you are welcome to visit my site and explore! Let me know if you have any questions.0 -
Good Morning,
Dawna - I agree that it will be awesome when we do P90X together! I think it will help motivate me to do it everyday and maybe even to push harder so that I am better than him
Wow! So did you lose all that weight and inches from CE or were you doing something else before or during? That's fantastic! I don't have too much to lose but I feel kind of squishy ya know? I need to tone up and gain some much needed strength.
BC1 for me last night and C25K W3D2 today at the gym at school...have a great day!
I also do a lot of cardio. I run 3 times a week, and do Turbo Jam/Turbo Kick (Chalene Johnson's workouts) 2-3 times a week as well. My schedule kind of goes like this:
Monday - 45 min Turbo Kick + 35 min CE
Tues - 45 min run
Wed - 45 min Turbo Kick + 35 min CE
Thurs- 45 min run or Burn Intervals
Fri- 45 Min Turbo Kick or Burn Intervals + 10 min Abs
Sat- 45 min run + 35 min CE
Sun- Rest Day
I would definitely recommend doing cardio between strength training sessions. (not necessarily on the days you do CE) Stick to strength training 3 times a week, so your muslces can recover. And do cardio on the days inbetween. I did the Burn Intervals the other night, and that was AMAZZING- great cardio workout. I swear by Chalene Johnson's workouts...I've been following her products for the last 8 years and I am currently a Turbo Kick Instructor (hence, the reason I do it so often...I'm typically working on my routines to teach or actually teaching). Teaching Turbo Kick is just something I do for fun at a local college just once a week.0 -
Dawna - That's quite the schedule you got there! Sounds like a great setup! So did you have to get certified to teach Turbo Kick? It sounds like it would be a great way to get your exercise in.
I agree Burn Intervals is a GREAT calorie burner! I usually burn about double what I do on C25K, which surprised me at first...
Anyway, have a great workout today! BC2 for me tonight, maybe I'll throw in some Burn Intervals too...!0 -
Good morning Ladies!!! I feel so left out of the thread lol.........I am starting Mon or Tues, depending on when I get my weights.......I am going to try to do doubles on the non-cardio days by doing kickboxing or something......I know I need to change my view on weight loss, but I feel like there is not enough cardio!!!!!
I like the food guide, I will follow it loosely.......I am so excited, especiallly since I want to be able to show my husband that I am strong, and have the will to change my body!!!!!!!
I am afraid I will get so strong, I will start arm wrestling people at the bar or something LOL
HAPPY FRIDAY :bigsmile:0 -
Last Burn Circuit for me today - Can't really believe how fast the time has gone. Looking forward to the Push Phase!0
-
Good Morning Extremers..haha!
Last night I did a nice 40 min Turbo Kick session followed by ChaLean Extreme. Saturday is my last day in the Push phase, and then I'm onto Lean! I can hardly wait!! Today I am feeling it... I increased my weights last night and my muscles are begging for mercy today. Like Chalene always says... its kind of sadistic, but I like feeling the pain and soreness the next day (as long as its in my muscles) because that means I worked my body! Yahoo!! I burned less calories last night doing my CE workout, which suprised me...but I think its because I'm getting to the end of this phase, and my body is getting used to it. Luckily I get to start the Lean Phase on Monday!!
You ladies crack me up! I really like this thread!
Zeldacat- I love the C25K program, I started that last summer to start getting myself in shape. Its amazing how far I've come since I started that. I used to be a runner, and that fell along the wayside when I got married. But, C25K started me on this great journey of becoming more fit! I think I'm going to throw in the Burn Intervals tonight...something about it seeming like Boot Camp really gets me fired up. Haha!
melissaovadare- Hahaha...I like the arm wrestling idea! You'll definitely have some guns to show off!! I'm excited for you to start CE!! Did you order the select techs? Or are you buying the free weights from a store? My husband really wants the Select Techs...but wayyy too out of my price range right now. Maybe once I get a bigger place.
Duffyzmom- It is reallly crazy how fast time flies with these programs. My husband begged, literally begged me to do one more week of the Push phase because he loves it so much. We also missed a full week of doing CE at the beginning of January because we were on vacation. So, I didn't mind...but I'm too anxious to get onto the Lean phase!
gmreber- Do they ever do any samples of Shakeology? I currently use a shake that I find tastey and good for me...but like I said, I've wanted to try Shakeology I just didn't know if I wanted to spend the money for it quite yet. From what I've seen its a little pricer than the stuff I generally use. $120 compared to $30. I know the shipment says its 30 servings for the bulk...is that 30 servings of 1 scoop? But, my curiosity is getting to me! Haha! My husband isn't a fan of bananas...is this shake something where you can just add milk and still taste okay?0 -
Dawna - Glad you like the thread! I love C25K so far, I have never been a runner and in fact have always had trouble with endurance training, but so far I really look forward to my 3 runs each week...we'll see how I feel in another week or 2
I know what you mean about liking the muscle soreness after a weight workout, it's such a feeling of accomplishment!
Mellisa - I can't wait for you to start either! Keep checking in and telling us how it's going for you. I personally need to get some heavier weights so I might actually do one more week of the Burn phase, so we will be doing it at the same time
I would love to get some of the SelectTechs but I definitely do not have the money right now! I will probably pick some free weights up at Wal Mart this weekend.
Duffyzmom - Congrats on your last week of BC!! I'll look forward to your comments on the Push phase.
Will check in later,
Yasmine0 -
I'm loving the C25K also... and no I've never ran in my life. I just finished week 1 for the second time (just a tad out of shape) and looking forward to moving onto week 2 on Sunday!
I still need to get heavier weights for CE, I'm just repeating week 1 until I get them and can see how I do. I've looked around at Target/Walmart/Sports Authority and these seem like a pretty good deal: http://www.amazon.com/Cap-Barbell-40-Pound-Dumbbell-Set/dp/B000VCDXNS
Now I just have to get around to ordering them.0 -
Brangwen: That is an excellent deal! I just bought the similar set of 30lb - I picked it because I like the padded grip and my husband has a set of powerbars that go from 15-85 that I can use. I got my set for $39 at a local sporting store.0
-
I would prefer the padded grip too, but I figure I guess I can wrap them or something. We'll see. I'm going to check ****'s this weekend and if they don't have anything (in stock) that I like I'm just going to order those.
edited - ok apparently my sporting goods store name got edited out for being a bad word... hahahahahaha (D*ck's)0 -

That is too funny - one of my friends was price checking yak trax at various stores and decided to check out that sport gooding store only the sporting goods store isn't what she found on that website:laugh:0 -
I everyone.... so I just started the ChaLean program this past Friday and I loved it so far! Is it too late to join this gourp?? I need to buy some more resistance bands. I found some at Wal-mart that I was thinking about getting, I just have no idea what the resistance is tho.... Any suggestions?
I am following WW points for my eating and this workout for my exercise. After I get into it more, I will probably add in my own cardio on my rest days.
Who is actually following her food guide also??0 -

It's never to late...LOL....I am not doing resistance, but weights...I actually have not started it yet, but have the program...hope to start it Monday with the hubby!
Yes, log in with us and chat!!!0 -
I'm a newby to ChaLean as well. In fact, I just ordered it today. Then went out and bought a set of weights. Can't wait for it to arrive. I hope it doesn't end up as garage sale material LOL! But from what each of you has said so far, I'm hopeful it will be great.0
-
The resistance is by the color of the bands but make sure that it feels good to you. If you need more coil the bands on the floor to make them shorter.....
If you are looking for resistance bands... they are aplus because you only need one set instead of many diff. free weights.
I do have them on my website and range everywhere from 20.00 dollars and up. They are explained on how the weights are with them.. http://www.beachbodycoach.com/stalder
look for them under the shp tab.
I have had others that bought them at walmart but broke on them.. these I know are guaranteed!!!! Hope you find some that work for you...
they range in 15 lbs-50 lbs...
Good luck to you.0 -
Melissa- thanks for the welcome! Good luck on starting the program tomorrow!
Yogarunner- I have only done a couple workouts and I already just feel better! I feel like I am getting something done! I love it so far and I think you will too!
Jen- thanks for the advice! I was worried that the ones at Wal-Mart may be too cheap to last. I'll look on that site to see what I want to do
Well, I have done the 2nd workout in CE! That one kicked my booty.... it was that bowling move! My legs were shaking! I like it a lot so far!
How is everyone else doing??0 -
Looking forward to starting the Push phase today! I really haven't noticed a huge drop in weight but overall my body is much more firm. I'm still working out 6 days a week and can tell that the Burn Intervals and Burn It Off are getting easier each time. I didn't originally purchase the more intense versions so I may order those to celebrate the end of Burn phase.0

How is everyone else doing??
The Bowler's lunge is a killer isn't it - I would say that one and the screamers in Burn It Off really make me feel it to the Max!0 -
Good morning,
Sorry I didn't check in all weekend, I have 2 exams coming up on Tuesday so I did my best to study all weekend!
Welcome jenstadler, YogaRunner, and Jessica T2007 - good luck to all of you!
duffyzmom - I am also starting the Push phase today!! I purchased some heavier dumbbells this weekend so I hope to see a lot of change during this month...
I woke up at like 5:0 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep (I am totally worried about those tests!) so I got up and did my C25K run. I am going to repeat week 3 again as I am still no entirely comfortable with it...
Have a great week everyone!0 -
Thanks ZeldaCat! Good luck with your exams and your C25K! As someone who went from never running to running two half marathons and a full marathon in the span of a year...you can do it!!! Here's to you!0
-
ZeldaCat! Good Luck with your exams - 2 in one day cannot be fun. I finished Push Circuit 1 and probably will increase some of the weights next week. I'm somewhere between Laylee and Janelle on upper body but between Janelle and Chalene on lower. The only exercise that really bothered me was the one legged squat but I found that if I rested the other foot up off the ground it seemed easier on my knees.0
-
YogaRunner - Man, I can't wait until I can run a marathon!! I am planning on starting with a 5K this June. It's hard as I have NEVER run before but I am liking it a lot so far. I really have to push myself.
duffysmom - Thanks! This is my first semester in college and I really want great grades so I'm stressing over these exams (2 of the hardest subject for me: biology and math)! I have not done PC1 yet, I plan to do it after work today, I'm excited! Will let you know how it went...0 -

I agree! I used to say I wasn't a runner! I've now done 4 halfs - doing my 5th in February and my 6th in May and have also done 4 full marathons - anyone can be a runner! Just takes persistance, patience and dedication! you can totally do it.
If it makes all you ChaLeaner's feel better I think lifting weights has totally helped my running. It has not only made me stronger but faster too!0 -
Hi everyone!! Its Monday & February so I am excited because tonight I am starting the LEAN phase of CE! I am going to probably go running first or do Turbo Kick and then I am going to do the first LEAN circuit. I am really excited! Glad to hear you are all doing great!
I hope to run a 10K this summer..I ran a little over 6 miles on Saturday and I'm hoping I can keep it up and increase my distance so I can someday run a half marathon, and then a marathon. That would be awesome!0 -
Dawna - Fantastic. Being someone who just ordered my first DVD workout video, and being afraid I won't stick with it, its nice to hear from someone further along in the program maintaining her energy for it. Very motivating!
As for your running goals...awesome! Take your time so you don't get injured. I think they say to increase your mileage no more than 10 percent per week to avoid injury. I didn't listen at first and ended up with a stress fracture in my knee...yuck!:sad:0 -
Hi everyone, after reading how excited everyone is I am going to order CE....everyone seems very impressed by the program and I can't wait until I have the same experience...I am also doing the C25K program, today I finished wk2 day 1..I also do JM 30 day shred and sometimes celebrity fit club boot camp, and I love my eliptical...
I will have to get heavier weights because I currently only own 1lb, 3lb and 5lb dumb bells...thanks everyone for giving me the push I needed to go out and get this:flowerforyou:0 -

Great advice, thank you! It has taken me since August 2009 to get to 6 miles. When I wasn't really into running I would just run about 2-3 miles....to get the endurance to run 6 miles has taken a while. But, the 10% per week is a good way to make sure to avoid injury for sure. I am going to start keeping track of that. Thanks!
BTW- how many days a week do you run, or do you recommend running? I typically run 3 times a week and I always wonder if I should run more. I feel good about 3 times a week....because I add other types of cardio in between. Just curious. thanks!0 -
i just started the p90x last week and I am on week two any one else starting that would like to join me on this journey? I am doing the lean version, i need to loose the fat and tone up. and tips from those starting the Chilean or have done any of the beachbody ? Ithis kick you butt but I am ready!! :happy:0

I used to run 3 days a week and ran 3 out of the 4 marathon using the schedule. Keep in mind I wasn't running them in any spectacular time but I was having fun and stayin injury free. For Marine Corp - which I did in October I did 4 days a week and did some intense training. I didn't make my goal time but mainly b/c I was way over trained!
That being said, I think you have to figure out what works for your body! If you add a day to your run days add an easy day. If you want to run a race and "finish" then 3 days a week is fine, especially since you do other category. I think it's important to find what works for your body and mind. It's not fun to run if you don't want to run
I have quite a few people who I've helped train for varying distances so if you need some advice drop me an email - I would be happy to help!0 -

adlopez - I plan to start P90X with my boyfriend as soon as I finish CE.0
