What's your scariest movie?

I watched Insidious way back with some friends. It would have been scarier if I watched it by myself. When I was much younger the scariest movie I seen would have probably been Stephen King's IT. I hate clowns.0

I love horror movies but they almost never scare me. I have seen hundreds. Almost every movie people here have listed and many, many more and I have been scared by two movies as an adult.
The Mothman Prophecies scared the everloving crap out of me. Every time something flew against the window for days it scared the pants off me.
The original version of The Haunting of Hill House. Not the new crap. The black and white version.
As a kid I saw Silver Bullet and that scared me. But that's the only one I remember scaring me as a kid and I watched a lot of horror movies even back then.Teeth
I felt like Teeth was less of a horror movie and more like a sad commentary.and The Notebook. Oh, the horror!!
hahhahaha. I feel you there. Nicholas Sparks in general definitely haunts my nightmares.0 -
jAWS IS SCARY...duuuunun....duuunun...dun-dun-dun-dun-dun---dunuun~! LOL
i use to sit at the end of my pool with my acustic guitar, shut off the lights to the pool, and play that song, my 3 brothers would freak out - they would go in to a panic choking on water and drowning each other trying to get out the pool.0 -

I used to help run the animal shelter in Point Pleasant, WV, where the Mothman is from. They have a statue of him in the middle of the town! The first time I went to the shelter, I looked up the Mothman before I left, and the computer started acting really weird. The screen was shaking and I couldn't close out that page. On my way there I was hallucinating thinking I saw him flying across the road. It was freaking me out, man!0 -
When a Stranger Calls (the original one) - the first 15 minutes of that movie kept me up at night and had me terrified to babysit because I saw it when I was like 12 or 13. I still don't think I could watch it to this day.0

Yeah, after I saw the movie the aspect of reality is what scared me the most. And I spent a great deal of time studying Point Pleasant and the whole Mothman mythology. Which made it even worse :laugh:0 -
"The Birds."
I watched that the Halloween of 6th grade. I had to walk home in the dark after that. I literally had my jacket over my head as I was walking. Thought those birds were going to come eat my eyes out.
Other than that, I love scary movies. As long as I have a cuddle partner.0 -
The Ring. I've never made it through the whole thing.0

I adore horror movies. I have as long as I can remember. I can't recall a single one that actually scared me as an adult. The original Poltergeist scared the hell out of me when I was 10, if that counts.0 -
One of my favorite memories was going to see what I thought was a sci-fi flick and suddenly being immersed into one of my favorite horror flicks of all time.
Event Horizon, baby!0 -
Childs Play. I think it was because I watched it as a child and my sisters had tons and tons of dolls and stuff animals. Always thought they were going to come to life and get me.

IT....I shudder just thinking about that film0

The only horror movie that ever made me jump and shriek was Carrie. Also love Salem's Lot.
BTW: if you haven't seen it, check out Cabin in the Woods. I wouldn't say it's scary, but boy is it clever and good.0 -
I remember thinking in Texas Chainsaw that if she didn't stop screaming, I'd have killed her myself!0

Shirley Jackson, while an excellent writer, was out of her dang mind I think  The Lottery? Scary stuff0 -
I'm a huge vadge, so my scariest movie seen was Jeepers creepers 2. Couldn't even make it halfway at the halloween party, I bolted out the door. That was years ago, and I STILL cant stand seeing tree branch shadows under street lamps. /chills
Funny enough, I've seen the Ring 1 and 2, bless the child, the exorcist and missed call, & parts of Carrie and they barely phased me. /shrug
I just bought Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2! I liked the first one better, though. Another good one is Joy Ride (also liked the first one better).
Joy Ride, is that the one where these two guys were messing with this trucker?0 -
Nightmare on Elm Street. Still can't even watch a minute of it. Had horrible cousins who would frighten me with the "song" from it.
I normally love scary movies, but this one I can not stand, maybe because it follows no rules, dunno, but I still can't watch more than half an hour of it.0 -
There are 2.."last house on the left," and "Arlington Place."
LHOTL, because it could happen.
Arlington Place, because IT IS HAPPENING..CELLS of TERRORIST's in the USA.
I took a horror film class in college and couldn't believe we were shown Last House on the Left. I felt it was so disturbing and disgusting. Can't believe they actually remade it (haven't seen it). They also showed a movie called Cannibal Holocaust which featured the actors really killing animals. I skipped class that week.0 -
For me, Jaws. My dad let me watch it when I was very young, 5 I think? This movie still scares me and made me terrified of the ocean, even lakes. Jaws was recently released on bluray and it is beautifully remastered. The opening sequence is even more scary.0

YES! I can't even hear the words "candy cane" without thinking of that movie.0
