Its effectively a caffeine pill, a B-complex pill, and a multivitamin in liquid form. If you have issues with caffeine then don't do it.

It is caffeine, artificial sugar (sucralose aka Splenda) and vitamins. Skip it and have a cup of coffee- it's cheaper.

I like it and it works for me sometimes. only the extra strength though.

I like the effectiveness not the taste.

i hate it, it makes my head feel cloudy. are you wanting to use it throughout your day or powering through a workout?
  • Caffeine is a crutch.
  • I fully agree. Caffeine is a crutch. It's one thing to enjoy it from time to time, but if you're one of those people that's not "awake" in the mornings till they've had their blessed coffee, forget that. :/

For $3 I can get a couple of cups of coffee.........or make about 4 pots at home. Based on what I've read of energy drinks in general I'll give them a pass........

My dad and brother think it's great. Personally, I think it sucks. I like Korean ginseng a lot better. But you can't hardly get good energy drinks these days. The market is flooded with high sugar/high caffeine crap. :ohwell:

Oh man the one time I tried it (I did half the bottle like it said) my face got SUPER red (I forget what that side effect is called) and my heart rate accelerated a ton. I cut caffeine when I started eating better so I think it was a shock to my system. It was scary though. Not for me.

i've had it once and it made me feel very restless and anxious. i hated it.

you might as well take a double dose diet pill. its essentially the same thing.

I tried it once. It tasted like chemicals and did nothing for me. Total waste of money.

I would avoid it! I work in a family practice office and I see what they do to people- crazy blood pressures and heart rates! NO THANKS!

73% of doctors would recommend a low calorie energy supplement to their patients.....If they said it on tv it has to be true!

This was my reaction to it, as well. I didn't have the "crash" like sometimes do with coffee, but I had a hard time focusing.

Great for occasional use. They work great! Don't take it within 8-10 hours of your bedtime or you will not be able to sleep. Also, stay away from the Extra Strength one.. I was reeling for waaayyy too long after taking it.

It's mostly a liquid B vitamin complex drink with some caffeine thrown in for good measure. I hate the taste of that brand, but I will admit to using other sugar free energy boosters - but the ones i use normally have additional stuff in it than vitamins & caffeine.

Save money and get the B vitamin in pill form, take it w/ a cup of black coffee - cheaper and will do the same.

(Trust me - i like my energy drinks, but I hunt around to find them on sale, buy 20-30 @ 1.00 to .99 and make them last the month - IE: only 1 or 2 a day. I can't do coffee - heartburn issues... and honestly, I want to even stop these as I really don't need to be blowing $$ on them - but hard as heck to stop.)

Remember kids - caffeine is addictive.

"73% of Dr's would recommend an energy supplement to their healthy patients who use energy supplements"
^Anyone else have a WTF moment?

I drink Monster's and coffee.. I'll have a 5 Hr if neither of those other things are available just so I don't get a headache. It doesn't taste bad.. .and it does work.

I've had good luck with them. I have one every now and then, mostly when I have to drive for forever and I'm dragging.

My BF picks these up sometimes. I've tried 5hr Energy - it tastes just awful. Redline tastes much better and seems to give an energy boost without making me feel really strange. But, I'm used to having about three cups of blacker-than-black coffee during workdays, so maybe I'm used to the caffeine. :)

I've had that exact same thought! 73% of Dr's said something that has nothing to do with the quality of this product, but we're going to say this in a way that makes you think 73% of Dr's prescribe 5 hour energy to their patients.

Of course, I use it upon occasion when I need the boost, not so much lately since I've been eating better and exercising, but it's the ONLY energy product I buy and it's the ONLY one I've found to actually work for me without the jittery side effects.

They are always giving them out at the race expo's I go to. I've tried it once and it wrecked my stomach for days. I think I went through a whole 6 pack of toilet paper that weekend...

i felt like my heart rate was going crazy, and felt weird. i could not wait, until it ran out of my system. that was only half of a shot too... never again!

I've never tried it...I don't know why because I used to be a HUGE fan of artificial energy, but it skeeves me out for some reason.
