Fasting after a "cheat" day?

i think its a wonderful idea. very natural, and psychologically boosting.0

I'm a little torn here, and in a similar situation myself. i can absolutely see how it can be a super unhealthy cycle- i have binged and then tried to starve myself later to "even it out" and that is not okay, and it feels miserable. Today, i have overeaten- too much ice cream, an extra meal (at a restaurant no less), and i'd like to fast tomorrow to make up for it. I don't think that is quite the same thing....i think taking a day to "rest" and sip tea will be cleansing and relaxing as opposed to the nervousness and shakiness i used to get when starving myself after a binge....maybe i'm wrong, but for me it also has to do with the mental state BEFORE you decide to fast. Right now, i am not hating myself or wanting to "make right" with myself. I just feel a little gross and bloated from overeating and would like to "re-set" myself and my goals a little bit. opinions?0

Lets not make food our cult! if you want to cheat, eat a cheat meal and move on. IT sounds like your friend just stuffs himself as much as he can for that one day... i dont know if it sounds wring to you, but it surely sounds wrong to me.0
