Hello to all MFPers! I'm starting my life style change this week. I'm 18, a freshman in college and I have a weight loss goal of about 30 pounds. I was just curious what your favorite healthy breakfast to eat is. I'm just looking for some ideas because breakfast always seems to be the hardest for me and I'm looking for some ideas!
I'm also looking for some more friends for motivation. Do you feel the same?!
Thanks for your comments!!

Hey!
Welcome to the site!
My breakfast usually consists of egg whites and turkey sausage with ketsup.
I know it sounds really lame but it's great on protein verses calories.
Edited to add: and I just pop the whole thing in the microwave for two minutes.0 -
Hi, there! I also started using myfitnesspal this week. In my opinion, at breakfast you should always eat some carbs. But it depends on the area you live in. Here in Spain we usually have a light breakfast, while in the USA or England people tend to have more protein. What it works for me: a glass of milk (sometimes soy milk), normally with coffee, a piece of fruit and grain toast with low calorie jam. If not, any kind of healthy cereals would be fine.
Hope it helped!0 -
2 boiled eggs & half a grapefruit! protein shakes are always good too! also, if you don't want the fat from the whole egg then just do 3 egg whites instead!0

If i'm really busy I just make some egg cups.... muffin tray one egg in each hole, throw in some vegetables and bake. I like it as it's easy simple and are good on the go plus two muffins gives me protein without any carbs from bread or cereal.
My favourite breaky is poached eggs on wholewheat toast with light cream cheese but my normal breakfast is kellogs special K advantage with l/f milk.
Another idea ive been using is the insanity breakfast egg white wrap... YUM!0 -
2 weetabix with semi-skimmed milk, fat free Greek yoghurt & soft fruit (eg blueberries or raspberries) & a large mug of coffee (black)0

I try to stick with protein shakes or a fiber bar. I don't have a lot of time in the morning so it's whatever I can grab. Fruit is also good. I'm really into oranges now. They're just really hard to eat. I'm still getting used to that part.0

I normaly eat some kind of grain oatmeal, grits or kamut cooked in skim milk with a little maple syrup. Maybe a piece of fruit and a soy smoothie. I am on 1900 calories a day which is a little more than most of the ladies on this forum. But you can adjust your portion size. I did get a good breakfast idea on here. Putting avocado on eggs, add a little mango salsa and voila. You have a very tasty breakfeast.0

bad idea. the fat in eggs is 100% fine. Keep the fat and add a fruit and possibly a slice of whole grain toast w/ 1 tbsp peanut butter to give you ~350-400 calories. that's PERFECT!0 -
Cereal, milk, and a sliced banana.
Toast, peanut butter, and a banana.
2 eggs, and one slice of toast.
Oatmeal, raisins, and milk.
Yogurt, with granola sprinkled on top.0 -
Hi! My favorite breakfast is 2 scrambled eggs, a handful of blueberries or raspberries or half a banana, and a half slice of lightly butterered whole grain toast. I also have a cup of coffee with Splenda and a splash of milk. This is what I have every morning and it works well for me.
Another idea is plain oatmeal (you can get them in individual packets) with sliced peaches and a handful of nuts.
Good luck!0 -

I take a couple small tortillas, fill them with liquid egg whites (can also add an egg in there), a couple baby Yukon gold potatoes, some low cal shredded cheese, and add a little ketchup. It's super filling and satisfies those cravings for salt and sugar.0

Egg beaters southwestern style mixed with a little part skim mozzarella, you can heat it up in a cup in the micro if you want, then put it in a low cal tortilla/wrap for an awesome breakfast burrito0

Hey! Great job taking the first steps on your journey to health and weight loss! It's definitely not an easy endeavor, but well worth it. I like simple, yummy, high protein breakfasts. How about a Greek yogurt with raspberries? You get the protein from the yogurt and fiber from the berries. You could also add some raw California almonds for added fiber to hold you over.
Feel free to add me! :-)0 -
I pretty much always have a couple of egg whites, scrambled, with 1/2 c oatmeal. I add some fruit to the oatmeal and then for a little treat, I add about a tb of flavored coffee creamer to the oatmeal. It only adds a few calories (about 35) and adds so much flavor. I always feel like I have to have something sweet in the morning. If I am having a chocolate craving, I'll also add about 1/2 package of sugar free hot cocoa mix to the oatmeal.0

1st off - Welcome to MFP :-) Please feel free to send me a friend request if you'd like.
Generally i'm in a time crunch in the mornings, so i don't have time to really "cook" anything & it has to be portable so i can take it in the car. Often times i will have a banana & a Special K Protein Bar. This worked well for me & i found the 10 grams of protein really helped to keep me from being hungry before morning snack time :-)
Another thing that i've recently started experimenting with is smoothies. i've been trying to get away from "diet" coke and the artificial sugars but still need the caffeine to get going in the a.m. Generally i start with about 10 oz of water in the blender with a single serve vanilla latte mix, add 2 containers of light fat free yogurt (Publix Caramel is yummy!), then add about 10-12 ice cubes & blend well. That satisfies my need for caffeine & protein (LOL) without killing my calories! Total calories depending on which yogurt you choose is around 300.
Good luck in your healthy lifestyle choice :-)0 -
While it's not necessarily 'healthy', the Morningstar "bacon", egg, and cheese biscuits (in your grocery freezer) are good for when you're craving a biscuit breakfast like I sometimes do. They're pretty filling, vegetarian, and takes away your fatty breakfast craving for about 270 cals.0

Breakfast is generally my larger meal of the day. I like to change it up a bit, but here are some ideas:
1. Bowl of old fashioned oatmeal with a sliced banana and some Greek yogurt mixed in.
2. Eggs over easy or poached on whole wheat toast
3. Egg white omelette with cheese and ham
4. Bowl of Uncle Sam cereal with almond milk and a grapefruit or mango.
5. Hi Fiber cinnamon raisin bread and some cottage cheese.0 -
I only have 1 day a week (if I'm lucky) to eat a "real" breakfast of eggs, spinach, tomato & rice cheese. On the rest of the days, I have 2 favs that I turn to.
1 - Chobani Greek Yogurt (plain), 50-75g blueberries, a little cinnamon to taste & if you need the xtra sweetness a little Sugar in the Raw.
2 - My other fav is Bakery On Main Instant Gluten Free Oatmeal, I mix in 50g blueberries & a shake of cinnamom.
Both options are filling & healthy - the reason for the cinnamon is to help regulate blood sugar as well.
If you workout in the AM, add a good protein shake (I like the pea proteins since I can mix with water & not add xtra calories) or keep raw almonds to snack on.0 -
I like 2 scrambled or fried eggs and a turkey sausage
1/3 cup oats, 2 tbsp ground flax, some berries
Overnight oats ( oats, flax, fruit, then add about 1 cup milk and put in the fridge, covered overnight. In the morning, eat )
Smoothie
Granola and milk
Granola and yogurt with fruit
Cereal and milk0
