Stop obsessing about metabolism. Stop obsessing over ways to increase the amount of food you can eat. Just eat what your body needs. So what if I can eat 3000 calories a day and you're at 1500? I know it sucks that I can eat a double Whopper with cheese and stay skinny and you can't but life isn't fair.
Exercise and eat good clean foods the majority of the time. Alter your calorie intake to match your lifestyle. If you work out and play harder you'll need more calories. If you sit around like a dead fish you need less. Having a goal of raising your TDEE just so you can eat more food is a horrible perspective. Make you goals something like "I want to run a 5k in under 25 minutes." or "I want to dead lift my body weight." If you keep focusing on food, food, food... "Please help me be able to eat more food" then you're going to be miserable.
I don't want to eat more food; I want to burn more calories.
Your body on its own will slow its metabolism (burn less calories just living), if you don't feed it enough.0 -
Drink more water, and try to do some weight training to build muscle. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, so if you build muscle, you will burn more calories during exercise as well as everyday activites0

I would like to know this as well.
I am recovering from an eating disorder and need my metabolism sped up.
From what I know 5-6 small meals a day and exercise helps some...but you will probably gain before losing.
HTH
xx
You won't gain, this is how I've lost almost 40 lbs in the past 3 months! I split my calories into 5-6 meals that are around 300 calories each. When your body is consistently getting nutrition throughout the day it will instantly burn whatever you're eating!! You still have to eat healthy and exercise but eating more small meals will definitely help boost your metabolism.0 -
lift heavy things and put them down...repeatedly. Then eat more protein. there is nothing wrong with your body. You are only 18...it will change significantly over the next couple years. Please do not disillusion yourself to believe that because someone asks if you have lost weight you are healthy. You said you work out twice a day already....if you are doing lots of cardiovascular exercise like running you need to lift some weight. Not little 5 pound weights though; big, heavy, scary, girls shouldn't be able to lift that weight, but have someone who knows how to do it show you first so you don't hurt yourself.0

eat more, exercise and drink lots of water0

You look very small in your profile picture. Not sure what your stats are as far as height and weight but you don't look like you need to lose anything.0

This is the point i was trying to make earlier...0 -
Work hard, eat hard!
It doesn't mean to eat 3000 cals a day. You can eat low fat yogurt or cheese, vegetables, fruit. But it should be on 5-6 small meals during the day.
Also I tried getting chitosan (every day) and 2000 mg l-carnitine before training.
If you haven't tried weight lifting yet, I recommend you to start doing it. You can't imagine how it boosts fat losing.
Hope those tips will work for you0 -

Can't speed up your metabolism much if it doesn't have much to work with.
Eat more.
While a slower metabolism is a purposeful choice of many for the health benefits, and the undesired situation of many because of life circumstances, those benefits don't outweigh being overweight.
And it's a bear trying to lose weight with slower metabolism.
I'd suggest being interested in fixing it instead of thinking you can get around it.
All the suggestions above about increasing your metabolism outside eating more can't work if your body doesn't have enough energy to take care of base needs first.
Your body will let you be cold rather than use energy needed dealing with cells.
It'll stop or slow growing of hair/skin/nails so that energy can be used to repair cardiac muscle.
So forget trying to increase metabolism until you eat more, which will do it anyway.0 -
Build lots of new muscle.0

Um...To me I think you need to see a doctor. What do you weigh? a buck five? You don't need to lose weight. Maybe if you have a muffin top or sag alittle in some areas then work out and work those areas. If you keep trying to lose weight and not eat you wont have to worry about your metabolism because you will be dead. Um..Trust me from a girl who got down to 98lbs when I should not ever be below 118.0

All of us who exist without eating low-fat "lite" foods and eat 2-3 meals a day are reading this and laughing0 -

I only eat once a day and am now wondering how the hell I exist ;-)0 -

Eventually your metabolism stops entirely and you just start soaking up sunlight. Then you need to stay indoors in order to stay skinny. You have to go to the moon for a metabolism reset at that point.0 -

Ooh goody, I like the idea of just soaking up sunlight but not staying inside.
Book me a return ticket for the moon post haste!0 -

Metabolism is like a furnace. It needs fuel to burn strong.
That is all.
If I drink water will it put out the fire?
Yes, whatever you do, do NOT drink water or you will surely die. Studies shows that 100% of people who drink water will die....0
