Being Deleted/Deleting Friends

I've been deleted by a few people for no apparent reason! Tried to find out why and if I posted something to offend them, but no answer. Strange! I don't "play" on here too much, so maybe I'm boring? I don't know but I just try to move on. Now, I will delete someone if they have not been online for more than a month. Does that make me a bad person?0

Being deleted for no reason pisses me off.
However, I have deleted, and made it clear why I was doing and wished anyone I deleted the best.0 -
I've been deleted & have deleted. The 1's I've deleted is because they haven't logged in for about 8 months. Dare say they probably won't be coming back.
The 1 that deleted me probably did so because I made a comment about people constantly every day putting what they lost DAILY or when they had a loss which was like every other day - which irked me because they never put if they had gained, now come on.....I'm sure they had gains so why not be true to yourself & log it when you did not just when you had a loss *rant over*0 -
I do it to clean it up too, in activity, non support or when I look at their diaries and they eat CRAP! and then post "why am I not losing" It honestly drives me nuts. Some people just irritate me, and I dont even know them! I delete the ones who "whorship" these people as well. )) Oh god dont get me started on the ones I see eating 500 cals and saying the have a eating disorder, or the ones who think this is a dating site!0

I delete people who burn 1500 calories in 30 minutes or who log 'standing' as exercise.
I deleted someone off my friends list who logged, brushing my teeth, doing my makeup and doing my hair as excercise!!! I mean it was like 2 calories brushing her teeth but seriously? Lol. And then she always talked about making out with her boyfriend and once I found out she was like 14 I was like okay DELETE. Lol.0 -
I only delete if they haven't logged in after a week or they stop offering encouragement.0

People come and people go. On the internet, it happens more often than in real life. It's just how it goes. I rarely take it personally.0
-
Sometimes I friend people and then realize they're notorious on the forums for being idiots or they are just collecting women on their friends list. I also just delete people who haven't logged in for a long time or don't ever talk... I like to keep a small friends list.
this too!!0 -
I don't normally delete anyone, unless they PMO to the point where I just don't want to even deal with it. I have been deleted by people (especially on Facebook) because either I am inactive with some of the games or because I have an issue with something and have a tendency to be blunt about how I feel. Some people don't like honesty, but it's canny because they don't want to be lied to. I am better at writing than I am speaking, especially when it comes to relaying what I feel. I guess no matter how candy coated my words are, some just don't grasp what I am saying and take it as critisism when I am not being like that. I'm misunderstood. Always have been, and always will be. It doesn't bother me, though, when I am deleted. I love people and love making friends, but if they aren't willing to respect where I am coming from or take the time to ask why I feel a certain way, then they weren't really my friend anyway.0

I dont think I even noticed if I have been deleted or not..0

I just pee'd my pants0 -
Honestly, I delete people who don't log in for a while and people whose diary and exercise patterns suggest ED problems. That's my limits, I don't mind different personality or opinions, variety is the spice of life. I've been deleted, but can't tell you who did it because I don't really know, it doesn't bother me and whoever is no longer on my friends list because of their own choosing, I hope they find the support they seek elsewhere. It's not my job to bog others down or to bring the drama into their lives or whatever else. My job is to lose weight, and while I love my MFP FL, I lost about 20lbs before I even had a solid FL here. I just appreciate the extra motivation from my current friends now.0
-
I'll delete people just to get my FL to a multiple of 5.
I like it when mine adds up to 7.
And I've had people delete me MINUTES after I accept their request. It happens. Can't let it get to you.
thats funny... I believe you did the same thing to me  :drinker:

I've probably been deleted, but haven't noticed. I wouldn't take it personally.
I have deleted some people who I find I am unable to be supportive of. If I can't offer them support, why should I keep myself in their business? There are some really nice, hard working people who I still have on my friend's list that I find hard to support due to very different food philosophies (I'm not sure why they asked to be my friend since I am very open in my profile about it) but I try to still make supportive comments on occasion, but without saying anything about food choice. It's really not my business what people are eating, and if I don't think they are being healthy, that's what deleting is for.
Don't be offended or hurt when you are deleted; it's not personal. We are all on our own journey and have to do what works best for each of us.

 I thought I got deleted by three people. It turns out that it's an advertisement for an app. I didn't notice the "Click Here It's Free" link. Duh.:embarassed: :laugh:0

When I first joined MFP, I did a lot of accepting. A lot of my friend requests were devoid of messages, and I just bimbled along and accepted them. This pattern continued, and I recently ended up not being able to support those who were being good to me.
Now, I only accept request with a bit of an explanation as to why they're adding me - no problem with that. I delete if people haven't logged in for a while or fail to interact in any way with me. Keeps things manageable.0 -
I have not noticed if i've been deleted so it doesn't matter at all. As far as me deleting people, yes I have. Its annoying when someone adds you and says nothing...ever...I always do even if its something small. I expect the same in return0
-
i delete ppl all the time
say something stupid ie: "i think i'll only drink water today i gained a lb" wtf? DELETE
stop logging DELETE
no "interaction" DELETE
as for if i've been deleted i've not noticed and i wouldn't give to good hot shyts. doesn't affect my rent or real life so why care0 -
I delete people who never enter anything in their log, people who are b*chy about my methods (I don't ask you to agree, but don't lecture me), or people who whine about never losing weight but eat a ton of food every day.0
-

Like yourself? As I scroll through your posts, you seem to be an exceptional know-it-all. I bow down to you, oh great one!
:flowerforyou:0 -
I've been deleted by people who I don't interact with often. It's no big deal. I only have - maybe 10-15 friends that I would feel bad if they dumped me. I enjoy being entertained by my news feed.0
-
i deleted people if
1. we don't have any notable communication (if i can't remember or know we have never actually interacted)
2. after adding them i realize our goals are not the same or on par
3. if their posts reflect a personality i would not literally hang around
*i recently deleted a great girl, who has made amazing progress & i loved her style & spunk. but her updates were always frustrated rants. they didn't make me excited to look for her updates & generally this wouldnt be enough to make me delete someone - but she made massive status updates, and it just got old. She's seriously an awesome person, i probably just didn't have enough friends being active as well to counter all her posts...0 -
I am sure that people have deleted me but I haven't paid close enough attention to my number of friends to know for sure...and well, obviously I am not missing those people if I can't even be sure if I have been deleted or not! Don't sweat it. Only reach out if you feel it is necesarry, most people including myself delete people for the following reasons: inconsistent logging in or not at all, grossly undereating and/or promoting eating disorders, zero contact, they are reducing their numbers to people they really intereact with a lot to not be overwhelmed by trying to keep up with too many friends, or they think the person is just super annoying. In the event of the latter, would you really want to know?0
-
I have deleted because they were so full of themselves that it made me ill... I have deleted because they were posting overly religious stuff asking us to pray she made it to the gym that day... I have deleted for political posts...
I also am sure people have deleted me but I couldn't tell you the number of friends I have right now, so there's no way I'd know anyways0 -
I've deleted people that were inactive for over 2 months or so, just because. I've never deleted anyone else.
I've become a little selective on friend requests that I accept though. No offense whatsoever, but I don't accept most older men. Our goals are often very different and there have been a few instances of creepiness. Facebook is creepy enough. I just want to log my stuff and put up pictures without feeling uncomfortable.0 -
I only have one friend so my feelings wont get hurt waaaaaaaaa0
