Should I shave/buzzcut my thinning hair?

I checked out your pictures - you can pull it off so I say go for it. I think the receding/thinning look will only age you and make you look older than your 30 years, and who wants that?0

Buzz it. Nothing worse than a combover..0

Buzz it. Simple, effective, and less you have to take care of in the morning.0

Guys with buzzed heads look much younger than guys of the same age group with wispy, long strands. Seriously.0

i love a short spiky cut on my man! SEXY!0

So I have been aware of my hair getting pretty thin for a few years. I'm 30 now and it's receding a lot on my forehead and starting to thin at my crown. Here are a couple of photos (literally just took these):

For a while now I've struggled to do anything with my hair that doesn't look either thinning or like I'm trying too hard to hide it. I've had a look on some forums and they suggest that a buzz cut or even shaved head might be worth a try but obviously it's a bit of a big step!
It can look pretty great, thinking of Jason Statham, but let's be realistic here. Do you think it would suit me? Are there any ways to get an idea of the shape of your head other than just going for it?
I shave it now. used to be #2 on the clippers. now it's a #1. lol.....sucks. but in reality i think always looks worse when someone is trying to hide it, do a comb over etc.0 -
shave it.0

I like it when men cut their hair really really short. You don't need to shave it just go super short.0

shave it...I love it. havent paid for a hair cut in 20 years, lol. I do it not cause im going bald ( a lil reseeding ) but because its so much easier to take care of. I dont own a brush or hair dryer- dont even buy shampoo-just use the bar soap, lol.0

shave it down...my husband keeps his nice and low. buzz cuts look great!0

In my opinion, yes. I would recommend buzzing it though, NOT shaving it so clean people can see their reflection. My husband's hair started thinning really young (he says it started when we started dating ) but I think REALLY close buzzcuts look great on guys.0

Buzz it! You'd look hotter than hot.
My fiance has his buzzed and I love "playing DJ" on it. I put my hand lighty on his head, move it back and forth, and say "WIKI WIKI WIKI!" I like the feel of it. It's our little thing and I love it.0 -
shave it! you'll look much younger & sexier, my boyfriend has never looked better since he did (he had the same trepidation as you).
If you don't like it, it will grow back to how it is now within a couple of months, you'll always wonder if not!
do it!0 -
I buzz cut . Been doing it for the last year. Not in the shave stage yet. With the way I have a reteat happening it will be sooner than later.0

I would definitely buzz it first. You will look awesome. I love men with buzz cuts or shaved.0
-
Shave then let it grow back but not as long as it is now0

I dont find thinning/receding hair unattractive in the least. Quite the opposite really.
However, if you are really concerned, I would suggest a buzz cut. Bald would be pretty drastic.0 -
Jason Statham ....mmmm..... hell yes, go for it!!0
-
I love how no one mentioned getting a rug. Thats one 70's fad that needed to die a horrible death. :laugh:0
-
I say buzz cut first, then you can try the bald look. My guy went buzzed for a couple months, now he shaves. He looks great either way. Just please don't do the "comb over" yuck!!!0
-
Had the same problem so I shaved it all off but I hated the way it felt. All the stubble constantly pulled on my baseball hats. I just buzz it now on #2.0
-
Dude...it's not even that bad!!! Leave it the way it is until it's totally noticeable. Then cut/shave.
I think you're really cute and your hair is fine! That said, if you do decide to cut it...don't shave all the way down, just buzz it.0 -
You can always start with a buzz and shave it later if you decide you might like it better. It will always grow back if you decide you don't like it either way! You look like you have a nice looking head..meaning no lumps, bumps or knots...and shaved would probably look nice!
Good luck with what you decide and post pictures if you do! :drinker:0 -
I say shave it or leave it, but whatever you choose, don't fret about it seriously, it's only a drawback when you guys are obsessing over it. sheesh. i think you would look good either way.0

200%yes0

I like bald men, but not where they are bald and hanging on to whats left - i mean completely clean and sexy bald. buzz cuts are also quite sexy0
-
Do it!!
You have a good shaped face, and you'd look great!0 -
Do it then post a before and after for opinions. It will always grow back out if everyone says ooof!0
-
Shave Shave Shave it all off!0
