I like to make my own cleanser with green tea, honey and plain yogurt! Natural is the way to go!! I'll have to try this lemon concoction, it sounds nice.

My new discovery is mixing a packet of unflavored gelatin (about 1 TBSP) with 1.5 TBSP of milk, microwaving for 15 seconds... and you have a homemade blackhead remover mask! SOOOOOO much cheaper than Biore strips. (1 box of gelatin, which contained 4 packets, was like $1.32) I did my whole face, with enough leftover that I could have shared with another person. Leave the mask on for at least 15 minutes, until it starts to harden up. Then peel off carefully, rinse at the end to get rid of any leftover residue. (Be sure to peel the mask though, and not wash it off - peeling is what will remove the blackheads!)
Very effective... over a week later and my skin still looks great and feels soft!

Yes, I try different recipes quite often, I just find the lemon+sugar+honey super easy and quick to make in the morning when I'm in a rush! Plus, I feel good using the lemon pulp I otherwise throw away!
Don't worry, eating it and putting it on your skin are 2 very different things. I've read quite a bit on the subject of sugar as a scrubbing tool (for instance: http://elqalatawy.hubpages.com/hub/Sugar-for-Face-is-all-what-your-Face-Skin-Needs).
But if you have really oily skin, you could do it only once in a while, and more often use half a lemon that you rub on your skin, it works wonders too )

Yep! One of my favorite masks is just 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt with 1/2 to 1 oz shaved dark chocolate. It smells amazing (it's hard not to eat it!) and makes my skin so soft, smooth and even!
I also like to make body scrubs using ground coffee and Greek yogurt.0 -

I would imagine if someone doesn't want to use sugar they may be able to substitute sea salt. Both would make good scrubbing agents! However, the salt may be a little drying.0

I really want to try this. However, I once heard that putting honey on your face was really good so I tried it and broke out into a little rash. It was a packet of honey so maybe that's why. I am willing to try this though.0

It's possible you're allergic to honey. Try some local honey in a small spot and see if you break out again. If so, I'd steer clear of honey and maybe use yogurt!0 -

Either that or it's a reaction peculiar to your skin; if it's the latter, I would just forget the honey and go with lemon+sugar, then put some cream on my face once it's dry, that's what I do when I don't have any honey.0
